  1. Watched it last night. It held my attention, which is better than most youtube videos.
  2. Nice job! I'm installing the SPH DA120 in my Crown at the moment. I'll see how it is in use and decide whether I need to do something similar. I clicked on the video link and it took me to Photobucket where I was able to see some photos but I didn't see the video.
  3. I'm pretty sure that you answered your own question and the balance of opinion is with going DIY.
  4. I have pre-facelift bases and backs (no frames) in reasonable condition.
  5. Thanks Scooter. I've been aware that these 'leaks' are there since I've owned the car. As far as I know they are not causing any particular problems. Fixing them has just come to the top of my list that's all. I would certainly be less concerned if I thought the diff was not losing oil significantly.
  6. This is for my 93 N/A auto. There are various leaks on the diff that obviously require the replacement of seals. From what I can see there are three separate leaks. One inner and one outer drive shaft and something from the main body of the diff. Should I plan to make the individual repairs, or take the diff out and refurbish with all new seals and gaiters? I don't drive the car as a daily and the fact that it looks untidy doesn't massively trouble me.

If you click on the Finance option it suggests £12995.00 as the sum to finance.
  8. Driver's side only, to fit the jack etc. No tools included. £20 delivered in UK
  9. I agree about the contrast with the car colour. In my case they are going on a black car so my situation is reversed. The centre caps on mine are in the original colour which is silver/bronze or to my mind Champagne silver. I rather like the colour and also the contrast with the polished lips.
  10. Thanks Dnk - I hope to find a solution a bit nearer to home.
  11. Thanks. Did you paint the lips a different colour to the centres? I would prefer to keep them as original as possible.
  12. I have recently purchased a staggered set of 18 inch BBS RG (one piece) alloy wheels. The wheels have been refurbished at some point in their life. I took them to a local company that I have used before but due to the experience today I have not yet let them proceed. Things started badly when the member of staff said something along the lines of 'they're horrible aren't they'. He picked one up and said they are not genuine otherwise they would be stamped on the back. I said that on these wheels they are marked under the 'waffle plate' bolt covers. 'Oh'....yes. Now we acknowledge that they are genuine. My optimistic view is that the centres are OK to leave, as these will go on my daily. I want to address the issue of the corrosion under the lacquer finish on the polished rims. The adviser told me that the rims are originally diamond cut and in his opinion the best thing to do is power coat the entire wheel. He said that the amount of metal to be removed to erase the imperfections caused by pitting and kerb damage make painting the better option. I don't necessarily disagree - especially as I am not an expert - however, as above I am not so sure of his expertise. It seems possible to rub down the rims only and then polish them to a good finish. I would protect with a wheel protect chemical rather than lacquer. I'm pretty sure this will involve a shed load of graft. Any suggestions please?
  13. Nice quality wheels - Good Luck with the sale. The tyres might be an issue; but if you remove them, the wheels could be shipped to UK for about 60 Euros.
  14. Thanks. Do you think available from Toyota? Whilst searching, I checked on e-bay and there was a roof panel in the States for 2300 USD
  15. Wanted aero top centre lock. Mine came without a centre lock - anyone have one? A bit rare I would guess....
  16. Building control will want to see the evidence of; or sight of, the existing foundations at some point I think.
