  1. I can't attend this one Will go to next one wherever that ends up.

    Bpu

Yep, j-spec without the ring will just run away past 1.6bar, at which point you're driving a grenade...
  3. That's shiny! Gonna be swapping out some vac lines tomorrow morning and maybe doing the front brake rebuild I've had planned in the afternoon (if I have time left).
  4. I've finally gotten round to replacing the bulb behind the fuel gauge so I can see how much I have left (depressing but useful). Also done the one in the auto shifter, as that popped a bit ago I just couldn't work out how to get to it. Next up is a proper clean and polish, failing that a trip t'pub. Who else has plans to fix stuff this weekend?
  5. It does sort of depend on the controller that's currently fitted, most will be fine for 1.2bar, although yours might have some other issue hence the replacement suggestion. That or it's up-sell that you don't strictly speaking need, tough to tell without all the relevant facts. If you're still on the stock intercooler a new one is almost certainly a great idea, I know mine is a bit crusty at this point, can't wait for the replacement unit to arrive. This might aslo be worth a quick read: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?247195-Recommend-me-a-boost-controller
  6. I know it's the wrong wheel drive but would a clio 182 be worth a look? I've been eyeing one up for a track toy as they seem pretty cheap and reasonably powerful. I'd also happily bin a clio into the gravel/armco and buy another but would hate to do that in the Supra.
  7. It's all about the disturbing/wrong team names Quite fond of Big Fact Hunt as a name
  8. http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Nankang/AS2.htm - It's not the newer version of the tyre, but you can see the difference in opinion between two cars of different performance brackets. One in a Focus ST, one in a vanilla Mondeo, the ST rated them as very poor under hard braking (snaking and having to countersteer), the Mondeo thought they were fine. The ST drove as normal on them and was surprised they didn't behave like a premium tyre... Probably fine if you're gentle on them.
  9. One of those techs that's getting better all the time. If it stops another sleepy/distracted driver from annihilating someone who's stuck on a hard shoulder/running lane, that's good news. Certainly wouldn't want to rely on it or test it myself yet though More than happy to have self driving cars as long as I'm still allowed to drive mine manually when I want to.
  10. It depends, most of the mid-market tyres are good: Avon, Hankook, Falken, Kumho etc. I doubt they'd be a problem unless you were ragging the arse off it everywhere in challenging conditions. I've had problems with Nexen (N6000?) tyres spinning up badly in the wet, that was at BPU with stock sizes. Running Eagle F1s now because I can get them for ~£130 a rear fitted. Personally I don't see the point in a Linglong/Wanli/etc tyre, I'd rather spend the extra £200ish and be happy the tyre was half decent.
  11. Stuff em in a different car park and hope the guys on Friday night guard duty aren't massively bright?
  12. Really sorry, got to drop out on this Will catch anyone on Dragonball later in May though.
  13. Somewhere around £8-9k I'd have thought? Does depend on condition etc and how it's been maintained. There's been a bit of a surge in price recently so I may be out of touch.
  14. Just in case anyone missed this, Jeremy Hunt literally wrote a book on dismantling the NHS (well, co-authored some sections sections, apparently it doesn't reflect his views). http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/jeremy-hunt-privatise-nhs-tories-privatising-private-insurance-market-replacement-direct-democracy-a6865306.html
  15. Yep, know a few who are running in wards that are 15+% understaffed already. The new contract removes a bunch of safeguards around hours in the schedule, so those wards would become 'fully staffed' without having to hire anyone. The cynical view is the whole NHS is being set up to fail, so his mates/private companies can step in and lend a hand. For the public good of course. But thats ok, most people won't realise what happened for a few years, by which time it's too late.
  16. Citadel paints are decent at the moment. The current paints don't always dilute with water very well (depends on your water hardness, mineral composition etc), an acrylic medium such as Liquitex Matte Medium can really help if you have problems with the pigments separating when diluting. Coverage is just a case of working with a couple layers, if you go on too thick it'll look chalky. The paints do dry quickly on the brush if you're not thinning much, close to consistency of milk works well but needs more coats to get the opacity back. Thin coats are easier to blend for highlights. I don't always bother thinning lots, it depends how much I care about the way the model looks vs how many of them I need to do... Vallejo paints are pretty good, they separate more than Citadel paints though so need a really good mix before use. I've also been using a grey primer (Tamiya) for a while now. I find black undercoat makes everything too dark but does hide areas you missed if painting in a hurry.
  17. Can also highly recommend, just done the rears on mine today, will do the fronts next weekend. Beautiful bits of machined stainless if you opt for the pistons. This thread is helpful, as is this one.
  18. I'd be very happy to be that with it come 90... Quite happy with the monarchy in general, they're a (currently) harmless quirk and part of what makes Britain different from the rest. They're also really good for tourism income, which is handy.

  20. Dumb question on dragonball graphics - how does ordering/fitting normally work?
  21. I get the feeling my car isn't low enough. Can get a standard Halfords jack on the rear diff without any problem...

    Automatic Gearbox?

TT autos are lovely, no experience of NA autos long term. Did pop a boost hose once, which led to a very slow drive about, but that was with less power than an NA and I'd been used to TT power. Cant say the auto was bad with no boost, it certainly wasn't exciting though!
  23. Try numbering them 01, 02 ... 09, 10. That should sort them correctly in the list. Super work though, should make life much easier!
