  1. Is it weird that I find the distant sound of rounds popping off comforting? I look forward to bonfire night all year...

    BMI nonsense

Pay no attention to BMIs or your weighing scales. Also laugh at the people who say "I LOST 3LBS THIS WEEK!!!". If you want an accurate measurement of your body composition, monitor your height and weight monthly, also use body calipers to gauge your body's fat levels. If you're looking to lose weight, read this: http://liamrosen.com/fitness.html and then watch some videos on YouTube from The Hodge Twins (Hilarious but factually accurate) and UnderGround Wellness (Ideally from Sean, terrific nutrition and lifestyle advice) Source: Formerly 6ft and 103KG, now 6ft and 83KG with a fair whack of muscle
  3. Bare in mind their culture puts the man as the "breadwinner" so it's likely he's going to the EU in order to work and send money back home. I know a few Polish people, all good guys, speak English a lot better than most native UKerz'. All they do is get a job, usually on the lower pay end of the scale or start a small business, save up some money over the course of a few years, then move back to Poland to buy land and build a house. Normally it's the man of the house who does this, it's why you'd find perhaps more 18-30 year old polish men working than polish women.
  4. One thing bothering right me is the UK's "anti migrant" stance in terms of migrants being branded as all violent criminals who will take our jobs. People don't spend their life savings and then risk their lives getting to the EU because they want our dole money. The EU needs to help with their infrastructure on their home turf rather than try to stop immigrants with force. Help them help themselves rahte rthan lose billions erecting fences politically and physically.
  5. Same ^. My parents paid around £5k to have them installed, and are currently making a small profit from them. Even during the winter it seems to bring in a few £
  6. Get it on a jig and check for damage, could be a stuck caliper or wonky bush somewhere. Bare in mind roads are cambered - some more than others so there's always some degree of steering involved. Coud have the alignment checked again and ensure the steering wheel si perfectly straight?
  7. I have a tiptronic... Best of both The auto box is an absolute joy though, in town, traffic and on motorways is perfect. Only limitation I feel it has is it's "off the line" speed is very poor without being able to bring up the revs before setting off. But you can get around this by fitting a high stall didgeridoo or whatever it is and some other bits (haven't really looked into it). I originally wanted a manual, but I don't "want" a manual over my tippy' as I'm perfectly happy with it... That adn you may see modern performance cars, super cars etc are all going the way of autoboxes or tiptronic
  8. Immigrants are perfectly fine... So long as they follow the appropriate channels. Illegal immigrants need to stop, if they're seeking asylum... follow the appropriate channels. Stricter employment laws like the US or Canada will help too - Giving work visas to people we need, like engineers, doctors, nurses and so on
  9. Hey guys, apparently there's a toyota Supra in the Fast & the furious!
  10. It's funny how what you want changes, e.g. I wanted a (any year) gunmetal grey RZ TT6... Saw they cost £15k so out of budget, ended up with my Tiptronic facelift TT in silver-grey. Very pleased with it too!
  11. Confirmed, got recommended to one on here, drove to London to see it, test drove it, couldn't not take it away with me, bank transfer, call to insurance idiots, drove home. Supra on the drive, bling
  12. I'd advise against anything other than a "Car-port" for cars like a Supra. Moist air in a garage or enclosed space = rust will go nuts. Even climate controlled ones promote corrosion. I'd advise to go to Wickes or your local DIY Merchant, get some cement, pergola beams and posts. Some polycarbonate sheeting to make a cover and you're sorted. It'll keep the rain and hail off your car but good airflow won't promote rust anymore than keeping it on your drive EDIT: http://www.simplelistings.co.uk/site/images/listings/ebaysales-a-nick-gray.co.uk/Carports/1345638079_Carport%20Canopy%202-full.jpg Type of thing I'd go for
  13. I thought those were pictures from it's release or something, sublime condition! Easy £12-13k I think
  14. Wish I had the money for this, working on a few things involving the CNPP/Chernobyl right now
  15. It's been the most reliable car I've ever had (Supra hasn't gone wrong yet but I've only had it 8 months compared to my Alfa's 3 years). The 1.9 JTD engine in the GT is the same you get in Vectras and Fiats, but Alfa have basically given it stronger parts, so a very reliable engine became stupendously reliable - no early clutch or turbo failures. You'll prolly find more diesel BMWs with 80,000 mile turbo failures than Alfa 159 & GTs for sale in total. Definitely worth looking into, I'd buy another 1.9 diesel Alfa in a heartbeat. The later 2.4 JTDM engines are very good too, but obviously more performance orientated so some manifold issues
  16. This ^^ There's a good reason why I bought an Alfa diesel and not an BMW E92 coupe diesel
  17. Falken 914s, similar price, not quite as grippy dry, but better in wet and seem to last longer than T1rs. think the 914s got a considerably better fuel economy and road noise rating too

    NA-T vs TT

I went from a 150BHP 240ft/lbs Diesel Alfa to a 380-400BHP BPU VVTI Tiptronic... I'm still alive. I'd skip the NA and jump straight into a TT. They're not firebreathing monsters until you're a single turbo on 550BHP+ Below 550BHP they're very tame and manageable so long as you're not stupid But don't put your foot down in the wet...

    NA-T vs TT

Start with TT, no real excuse not to go with TT. I found insurance cheaper on a TT too
  20. Got one of these in the Alfa along with an electric pump. Keep it in 24/7, however if i'm going for a long drive, e.g. from Wales to Scotland I bought a space saver kit with jack and keep that instead. I feel that the tyre mousse stuff is good for short journeys where you wouldn't lose a day with a flat tyre or a blowout, but for longer trips I'd prefer the convenience of a space saver, e.g. if the tyres in bits on the A123456 in Carlisle I can just put a space saver on instead of worrying about the AA
  21. Damn fine cars and photos
  22. I'm looking for new seats too, are Cobra Daytonas any good? Or Recaro speeds better?
