  1. My track car is also my daily. Mx5 10th anniversary edition. I've done 4 track days in it, all the same track and it's awesome. Just put some HKS Coilovers on to replace the standard comedy suspension. Obviously an mx5 isn't the quickest in a straight line but they are fast in the bends, parts are relatively cheap and widely available. If you are looking at mx5's I'd recommend a mk2, but make sure you buy one with an lsd. Mine: rear cage will be next on the purchase list.
  2. I have a non leather oem 6 speed knob lying about
  3. This thread needs to be renamed "members mx5 track cars" Bought some HKS Coilovers for mine today and banged them straight on. Ruined a droplink so it's now knocking. Will be replaced tomorrow.
  4. Awesome build. I saw the car at USC 2009. Looked awesome! what engine was in it then?
  5. Haha yeah that was me. Off to get fuel. I did spot the celica too!
  6. How you finding the Coilovers mate. Have you got a link to which ones they are?
  7. I went to my local pirtek and got them to find me a few fittings to make an extension for the temp sensor. I don't have any pictures of the set up but it works fine in my oil sandwich plate. Hope this helps
  8. If you look in the pictures they are fitted over "ridox style" skirts. I doubt they will easily fit to oem skirts as they aren't flat.
  9. Toyota still sell them. >£30 iirc
  10. I sold one recently for £200 iirc
  11. Mines not a uk spec. Just giving you an example for cutting the bumper. My cars a facelift but has a pre facelift bumper.
  12. I have fitted facelift front side markers to a pre facelift bumper. Did a lot of research looking at pictures of the shape of the hole that needed cutting and the position of the lamp on the bumper. Made a cardboard template and cut out one side. Then mirrored the position to the other side and cut. I used a dremel to cut the holes. I believe evinx fitted rear side markers to a pre facelift car.
  13. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/content.php?61-Diagnostics from page 37. This might be helpful too. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?51981-tps-setup&highlight=throttle%20tps
  14. If you can get new logos from recaro let me know please!
  15. Follow the tsrm and it's a pretty easy job. You need a multimeter and some feeler gauges though. Fiddly at times but not the hardest job in the world.
  16. Looking good mate. Don't suppose you saw a blue s2000 turbo on track? Just my mate was there.
  17. So I used to be insured with sky with a previous policy. They couldn't match Adrian flux last year so I swapped to them. Now this year they beat the flux quote but they weren't the cheapest I could get. But since I had a great experience with them previously I went with them this year. And what a load of rubbish. After calling back after an initial quote the guy didn't seem too bothered to want to start a policy. Anyway I started a policy, get my details through. First mistake, first name spelt wrong. On hold again for 30 mins. Edit policy. New documents come though. Now somehow my surnames spelt wrong. Again 30 mins on hold. New documents though. Get to my modification form and a few items are missing. All interior items. Oh and I can't sign the finance document on line because guess what! My names spelt wrong. So again I've had to call. On hold 15 mins this time. So currently waiting for new details to come through. (Which will probably be wrong). Thanks sky for the great service! Not.
  18. Great result! Wales made me £300 tonight. Also got £2 on them to win outright at 80/1
  19. I couldn't stay out too long as the seat frame was killing my back. And since Teesside is mostly right hand turns that wasn't helping. Wouldn't mind a bucket too but that's way down the list. I'm just gonna stick to toyo tr1's, they are relatively cheap and good road and track (I'm gonna start driving it daily)
  20. My back was killing after due to forcing myself into the seat so I didn't fall out, and my knees from wedging against the centre console. Hopefully getting some Komi damping adjustable shocks with lowering springs of a local owner. Wouldn't mind a half cage too. Tyres are needed before the next one, enventually finished the toyos
  21. Looking good mate. I did another day on Monday. Coilovers are 100% needed by the way (stock bilsteins on mine)
  22. Pm'd. I'm local too so no hassle posting.
