  1. Cheers would of had it if it was a Uk spec
  2. Sort of same as mine through them I declared all mods Uk spec and they valued mine agreed at £30k 5k mileage
  3. So Is say 165psi the “perfect” compression for a TT? And I’m compression terms is 10psi loss a lot? To be fair my car has never missed a beat since owning her. It gets serviced by myself and change oil filter fuel filter coolant diff oil etc etc more than required so has been looked after. Just turbo and vvs are nackad. I’m hoping the block is still strong but a rebuild would make all that a lot better.
  4. Sound thanks for clearing that up about the figures, I’ll see what the figures are tonight after doing it again. - - - Updated - - - Nice one mate thanks
  5. Cheers mike, ah ok I’ll do it again with all plugs out. The battery was fully charged and I did have a charger just in case. I read that standard factory compression was 156psi? And the higher the results the more carbon the engine would have? She’s going in for some work as in vss and turbo seals (rebuild) if needed. And some other bits to freshen her up. I’ll do another test tomorrow with all plugs out see if that changes anything.
  6. Hi lads looking at doing some work to the supra and so did a compression test today to check it’s health. So at the minute I’m pretty sure the vss are fooked and the turbo seals to after driving it in the summer last year. So here are the results, I’ve had her running at bpu for about 2-3 years now at 1.4 bar not all the time mostly 1.2bar. Ah and she has about 160k on the clock still pulls like a train apart from the odd puff of smoke on idle at traffic lights after a good push. And a little on start up in the mornings. Warmed the car for about 25 mins to running temp, took the 2 30 amp fuses out. One spark plug at a time starting from front to back and these were the readings From front to back 1 151 2 156 3 156 4 154 5 153 6 152 Also this was throttle body fully open. Does it matter that I left the other spark plugs in as I read this was the way and now I’ve seen you should take all 6 out ?? Thanks lads
  7. Hi mate no worry’s hope you had a good holiday I did the bottom arms on my father in laws garage on a ramp so was easy took 15 mins each side so that was a relief. The brake pipes were a little scabby so replaced all 4 corners while I had the ramp so there all done. Free of charge off him which I helped. The rear ones just joint under the plastic trim on the passenger side as all were fine under there but the fronts from the pump. Yeah I’ve got the dvd cd changer Bluetooth module in the boot and just found a aux lead online which works with the sat nav professional (business) head unit. Got it off amazon as bmw wanted £66 for it and I paid 8 delivered. They truly are a nice 4x4 to drive like put the supra away in the garage but sad but will be doing a engine rebuild on her for next spring time. The Bluetooth device I’ve bought is a mpow and it connects to the aux lead which then connects to iPhone so happy days. I’ll look for the up to date sat nav dvd on eBay. Yes they seem to pull well and this one is straight as a dart, just clay bared it at the weekend and used some ultimate fast finish and it’s came up mint. Head lights all wet and dry then polish and they have came up mint. As well I did the full interior and it’s like brand new! Credit to the previous owners for keeping it in good nick.
  8. Hi Shane mate I’ve ended up getting an X5 mate, really took my time and viewed about 10 before decideding that this was the best one I’ve seen. Nearly went for the mk2 a 2009 one but like the e53 better I’ll get some pictures up this weekend Might pick your brain a bit on a few things if you wouldn’t mind. Bottom ball joins are gone so they are getting replaced on sat I ordered from my local parts place for £60 which I thought was a decent price. The stock stereo hasn’t got the tv function or blue tooth on their. I’ve read you have to reset or pull the fuses to get it to work again? Have you came across this ? Also how to update sat nav and does the Bluetooth just manage the phone calls or is it music as well? Ya mate
  9. Cheers mate spoke to James at srd as Lee is on holiday and James at hart. Probably gonna rebuild the turbos as well.
  10. Hi lads, going I be removing my engine to do a rebuild on it! Turbos seals and vss are starting to go as I’m getting some smoke on start up and the occasional puff of smoke after driving then pulling up at traffic lights at idle. Who’s good out there to do this and what would be the best thing to do as in rebuild? Uk spec TT auto with 160 on the clock Cheers Shareef
  11. Guys thanks for all the info I’ve test drove a few today and really like them! I’ve never had a suv before and the x5 was a really planted 4x4! I’ll keep my eyes out for the things you have said and thanks Shane some really good information there mate. This is one I drove today no knocks and gearbox and turbos pull well. No smoke. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-X5-3-0d-auto-2005-Sport/264368401920?hash=item3d8d95ae00:g:1hAAAOSwpppc7WmY It also states its had a gearbox referb last year and to be fair it felt really sharp! Another one I drove and it was like the clutch was slipping !
  12. Lads has anyone had any experience on these looking for a 4x4 to use when not in the supra or works car. Just a bit of advise on what common problems are and any major issues to look out for. Going to have a look at one tomorrow and probably have a little test drive! Cheers Shareef
