  1. Haha I'd heard that too Haha that's not helpful. Besides, I'd hope that for £1k in Swansea I got a 5 bed mansion with butler and 4 car garage
  2. Had heard that High Wycombe was a bit far.. but to be honest, I just wanted as many suggestions as I could get so we can go and check the places out in summer.
  3. Thanks again everyone! I think I'd prefer more West or North-West, just because it will have faster access to most of the rest of Britain for weekend sight-seeing trips. Do you REALLY want me living up the road from you?
  4. Haha, I'm not a banker with a 6 figure salary!
  5. Thanks, caseys. Sorry, I should have made it more clear - yes, I plan to National Rail it to work but only want 60 min on the train maximum. Currently I live close to the Tube and use that, but if I can live a lot further out of London for the same travel time (by using overground trains) and pay less rent and have a garage, I will. Thanks for the suggestion, but on checking out Google maps, I think you're looking a bit too far out.
  6. Just brainstorming with the missus in the last few days, as we are thinking about moving further out from SW London in November, and thought my fellow Supra Clubbers might be able to help with suggestions. Ideally, we will be looking for *2 (or more) bedroom house WITH garage suitable for Supra *nice area - safe, quiet, relatively close (20 min walk) to train station *1.25 hr max total commute (i.e. 60 min on train max) to Central London *rent Can anyone suggest somewhere for us to start looking? Thanks!
  7. sorry, my post wasn't that clear - he ran a T04Z on 16 psi with (I think) 650cc injectors on the stock ecu, making around 320 kw.. which was about 50+ kw more than stock twins on same boost. The issue was trying to get control of the autobox using the ViPeC, or piggybacking stock ECU control of the auto.
  8. Single on the VVTi autobox is a pain in the bum, apparently - my best friend back home has had a long time trying to get the paddleshift to work with the aftermarket ECU.
  9. At the risk of starting a flame war, I'm willing to bet that this is NA.
  10. Looking good - impressive attention to detail!
  11. Obligatory startup vid, please
  12. Not much to worry about at all! Just quickly (as I have to leave in 2 min!).. Most likely you will be on crutches (and/or in a knee brace) for about 2 weeks, and it will be difficult to get around. The knee will be hard to bend, and your muscles will atrophy. Your most important task is to get muscle control of the knee - called a "co-contraction" of the VMO (muscle next to inside of kneecap) and hamstrings. Any decent physio will tell you all this, and push you hard in recovery. If you need any more information, just PM me - I have rehabbed quite a few ACLs
  13. Have you tried "gently persuading" it with a large hammer? But seriously, yes the motors are known to die (if the seat is old enough). You can swap the motor out though.
  14. Being from Australia, I'm still frequenting the Supraforums.com.au site. Has some interesting projects, but unfortunately has gone downhill in the past 2 years with the rise of cheaper N/As and associated ricing.
  15. Nice pics! Very moody noir-ish feel, and excellent framing. Bimmer looks very clean too
  16. Haha yep I had so much fun I want to be there next time with a video camera +1 Well, I'm pretty sure that I'll end up bringing my car over soon - so you might get a Supra road-trip partner to Finland for the summer
  17. As everyone has said, this is a nice looking project! Anticipate some good videos when it's finished ;p Well, nobody except Espoon Poliisi
  18. Had considered this route, Jamie, albeit via a slightly different channel (in an IS300 ) - but thought for the time/hassle/money I might as well swap the entire driveline for the GTE... because, let's face it, the GTE will make more power more reliably at a similar level of investment (i.e. BPU). In my opinion, Na-T only really works if you're going for bigger numbers - where you change it all anyway, so doesn't really matter where you start from, GE or GTE.
  19. Simply put - you stay together and make it work if you care enough about each other. Biggest thing is communication, particularly not being afraid to express your own needs - but at the same time there has to be compromise. My gf and I had been long distance (Australia - Finland) for 2 years before I moved to London, and we're now not-as-long distance It works because we make it work. And to be blunt, if you can't make just 3 hours distance work, it will never work and you should move on.
  20. Yeah - I was just trying to find some data to be used to indicate exactly how the car performs. While people may not be keen on drag racing over here, I think it still gives a good indication of acceleration... or perhaps I should ask, if drag stats aren't used how do people know how fast a car is over here?

    Might sell?

Not sure how you'd think I live with my Mum and Dad?!? Because I used to daily drive a big single turbo Supra? Or because I still own it outright despite being here and it being in Australia? But back to the issue at hand... I can completely understand taking a nice car off the road for winter - to avoid the ice (if you run summer tyres or semi-slicks) and salt and crappy weather - or just driving it on weekends. But owning a Supra and not driving it at all makes little sense to me, unless it was so modified that you could only drive in certain conditions. Perhaps if it doesn't make you super excited thinking about driving it, you really should sell it?
  22. Good work, Darryl! Perhaps a few bits of information to include would be an example of each "size" of single upgrade - i.e. "small" single = edit: on consideration, this is probably getting more specific than the "basic guide" will cover.
  23. Was it the height or the width of the brace that was the issue? It's been a while since I had the TRD, so my memory is pretty hazy
