  1. Yeah, the "all Alcantara" interiors look a bit over the top for mine, as well. Too "sex spec".
  2. I also think the green wasn't my style - but I don't think the "flocked" approach will be much better either. I *do* like the suede though....
  3. Wow.. two of the most boring games I've ever seen - apart from about 5 min at the end of the Wales-England clash. Hopefully the 6 Nations gets better than this?
  4. Ouch! Hope to hear that it's not as bad as it might be.
  5. Sorry Dude - I was trying to make the point that if the limiting factor is the octane of pump fuel, then why run a big turbo if you can only use lower boost with decent timing (when it needs higher boost for efficiency), and therefore make no power/torque, or higher boost but no timing (because of detonation risks) and be inefficient with setup. I don't think that anything bigger than a 71 mm (if that!) will be able full timing on proper boost levels on pump fuel. However, I will be testing this theory later this year when I get my 4294 retuned with the new goodies.
  6. Mate, you know your car is fast enough when only other Supras (and litre bikes) are your only competitors.
  7. As usual, wise words from you, Darryl It's definitely about recognising your own driving style and preferences. A lot of people seem to try to impress others, instead of pleasing themselves, with modifying their car - and end up with something less than totally satisfying.
  8. There are a couple of e85 billet 67s now, making big numbers. Which I think shows the capability of your turbo to flow the hp, but whether it will cope with the road fuel to get you there is the big "if". I'm very interested to see how you go
  9. M_life is probably close on the money there - for a stock engine, though. Increasing the breathing with a built head and cams will always make more power at lower boost, and combined with the decent tuning you have, you'll probably get a significant amount more out of your current turbo.
  10. Yep. And as for bigger turbos, I think it's false economy to go bigger - you can't run the decent timing to make the power, meaning you have to run more boost on less timing.. so it becomes an exercise in futility. I would say that even a 71 mm is probably too big to run efficiently at high boost.
  11. Most of the comments have been pretty bang on - depending on the precise pathology, you'll have different treatment methods and outcomes. Severity of disc damage increases from a discal bulge, to prolapse, herniation and finally sequestration; and the impact of disc damage depends on how it physically affects the surrounding area - it's much more likely to be serious if it touches or compresses a nerve root, or indents the spinal (thecal) sac. Treatment is primarily physiotherapy, core muscle strengthening, and activity modification - but can also mean spinal surgery if no conservative measures resolve your pain / dysfunction. I believe Geo recently had a discectomy or spinal fusion or disc replacement (can't recall which), so he will be able to give you a pretty decent insight into the hows and whys of this injury. I'm also more than happy to try to explain and help with the rehabilitation process Almost right - you had a bit of a dyslexic attack with the Thoracic spine (12 vertebrae).
  12. Well, I'm not 100000% sure that the fuels are identical - but I run mine on BP Ultimate (98 octane) without octane booster or meth. I would hope there is a parity between our countries for fuel quality, but I do know that our diesel has much higher sulfur content (or did until recent advances in diesel technology and subsequent influx of European diesel passenger cars) - so it may not be the same. Can't be sure about timing and AFRs on mine - except that it was a very conservative tune (I seem to recall something like mid teens timing, and high 11/low 12 AFRs on WOT... but I'm probably way off). I am doing a little bit more to the car and will get a retune this year sometime - so I will get some more logs and let you know. Of course, by that stage you'll probably have sorted yourself out
  13. I hear what you're saying Gaz, but it just won't happen - the more power you make, the more inherently difficult it will be to have a fast spool. Big twins make it a bit better, but still get laggier the more power you try to push out of them. Cams are the same - bigger cams for more airflow means loss of spool etc. You'll get at least 700 whp out of pump (mine got 730 without a built head) on a safe / conservative tune without meth. I'm not sure how far Ryan is comfortable pushing AFRs and timing, but I know there is a fair bit more possible than the 520 rwkW my car made.
  14. Lag can be good - for example, it gives you great fuel economy in cruise, the ability to drive a big hp car around the streets without feeling you will go sideways if you just touch the throttle (unlike a similarly big hp V8), and a really cool spool up noise It's usually most annoying when racing from a stop or low road speeds - but that can be solved with some nice 2-step action
  15. Mine is an Exedy triple carbon, to throw another brand into the mix for you
  16. If I recall correctly, both the RPS and Carbonetic twin plate carbon clutches can be rebuilt. Dunno if you've searched the US forums, but here is one thread on clutch selection: http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=502027

    Camera help

I read that your 350D was nicked - was more enquiring if, given you said you would like to take photography seriously, you might want to future-proof by getting a mid-range D-SLR rather than less expensive low end, and if you'd already spent money on Canon-compatible lenses... which would mean that you might only be able to buy another Canon. It seems that's not a concern for you, so I'm assuming you don't have any extra lenses.

If you're really serious about photography, do you think it's a good idea to start with the lowest end of the D-SLRs? What kind of lenses do you have at the moment?
  19. Ha, I was just happy to be in a Supra again Apparently, Australia Day is celebrated here on the weekend closest I suppose that's the most convenient way to get pissed I just had a nice quiet one - gym, a bit of telly and a celebratory bit of ice-cream
  20. Nice results Look forward to seeing some video of *ahem* "testing"
  21. UK and Australia are two sides of the same coin. We (Australia) have good weather, here (London) is not so good. You have good public transport systems and short distances, we have very ordinary public transport because it's a huge place. We have lots of space with no-one living in it (mostly because you can't!), whereas here is crowded and small (but vibrant and a palpable sense of history). We have great food, here is getting better (but currently not consistently good). Here you can travel to another culture and climate within 2 hours, home you have to travel for at least a day! All depends what you're prepared to compromise on. Edit: Oh, and we are essentially the same culture - coming to London was immediately familiar for me, apart from the constant complaints about the Tube
