  1. Apologies for thread resurrection but another member asked me where this specific device could be purchased and I found that a direct link was possible: http://www.ncs-systems.com/speedm8/index.php?action=show&man_id=13&model_id=254 N.B. I'm not connected to this organisation in anyway and, whilst this device has worked perfectly for me, the results might be different in your own car.
  2. On the off-chance that you don't hear from either of the above, please could you put me down for 3rd dibbs? Thanks!
  3. Got one now - thanks to Sean. Nothing wrong with my original (boost gauge not correctly calibrated) so now I have a spare!
  4. You know the bit - bolts onto the engine side of the inlet manifold and measures absolute pressure (little hose connected to it). Not sure if mine is working properly or not. No error codes reported but even when the engine isn't running, it's consistently reporting a vacuum of 0.35hkPa (bar or about -5psi) My mean intelligence suggests that it should be reading pretty close to zero (unless I'm living in the eye of a very big storm!). I think this is a pretty difficult component to test and also fairly expensive to buy new so does anyone out there have one they'd be willing to part with? Thanks!
  5. Yes, that's the one - certainly looked female to me anyway.
  6. UK spec. about 0850 this morning (3 February 2009). Nice to see someone else out and about in their Supra when there's snow on the ground!
  7. Thanks for that - I'll take a picture of the affected area and get in touch with Keron.
  8. What did you replace it with - similar piece cut out from a donor vehicle or new piece from Mr T?
  9. RUST ... in this case (although Respray might be next). Pretty rare for the Supra (judging by the number of old posts thrown up by search) but my car has a bit bubbling through on rear, n/s wheel-arch. No sign of any rust anywhere else but I have discovered that this panel (or part of it at least) is not original - probably a 'pattern part' as I can see flat black paint on the inside of this panel from boot aperture; the other o/s panel is silver in the same place (as you'd expect as mine is a silver car). I'm guessing that the rust-protection is not as good on these pattern panels as OEM which is why I'm only seeing rust here. My question is, if the rust is coming through from the back, can this be repaired by treatment and repaint or do I really need to cut out the rusty metal completely first (which begs another question, can you get wheel-arch repair sections for the Supra)? Thanks in advance for any advice.
  10. First dibs! Please PM me payment details - thanks.
  11. I received details of this via e-mail from [email protected]

  13. I was with Footman James for a while - low mileage and agreed value policy but fairly pricey. At the suggestion of my father-in-law (who is a farmer) I tried NFU insurance and was, frankly, amazed: very competitive classic car insurance and excellent (face-to-face) service. I had no NCB I could use on this car but they gave me a 5-year introductory (new customer) discount! Worth a try? N.B. If you use them I don't think it's compulsory to put a sticker in your window or drive in wellies.
  14. Well, the car's a pre-facelift (Euro-spec?) by the look of it so the gauges would be different anyway. The font is reminiscent of Speedhut 'Swiss' so maybe they're a special order from them?
  15. Add a poll to your thread (to save you adding up all the posts)?! You did!

    supra trouble

Water might have got in (and that might be improved by removing a bulb, blowing in some hot air and then checking all bulbs are back and sealed properly) but it's well worth trying to clean them first with PlastX, etc. - what might appear to be on the inside of the lens can magically disappear after a polish with this stuff. I don't think it's too surprising that some of the 'chrome' is flaking either: I think this is fairly common on facelift lights, especially when they're already 10 years old ...

    supra trouble

Is this your car by any chance? TOYOTA SUPRA RZ-S TURBO MANUAL If so, the lights look as fine as the rest of the car! It's a VVTi so the problem could have something to do with the drive-by-wire throttle maybe ...
  18. Maybe this picture will help you understand:
  19. I think you'll find that one gasket is for the 'left' cover and the other is for the 'right'. Incidentally it looks like 11214-46010 is no longer available and should be substituted by 11214-46011 and don't forget some sealant too ...
  20. Under the lights themselves? Loads of space:
  21. This bit? [Edit: this may be of interest too - BNIB OEM Water Pump]

    Paragliding

After not having flown for more than 5 years, I took the hard decision to sell my kit. The guy who bought it all was kind enough to send me this video of his instructor - Murray Hay - test flying the wing ... (show-off!) EEXVQpfww9w Can I have it back please? [Edit: It's Arbroath by-the-way and that isn't my old harness!]
