  1. The supra sure is able to go through the MOT without cats (well at least the first cat and likley the second i reccon too). At my MOT last year, the garage was unable to find the Supra N/A on their list of cars on the DVLA database, and hence they didnt have a specification for the exhaust gases. Apparently in these cases (by the sound of it any import car that wasnt available in the UK), the DVLA dont have exhaust gas specs and they therefore use a very high max limit as a fall back spec for all of these cars. The limit that was used for mine was 3.5% for CO (apparently most cars have a max limit of about 0.2%) and max HC was 1200ppm (not sure what a normal limit for this is) To give you an idea of how my single de-cat N/A came in, in terms of results, my CO was 0.206% and my HC was 156ppm. These are well within the limits the MOT uses for this car, and hence it could be running like sh*t and would still pass, you could mod it like hell and it would still pass. Some of the traders on here must come across this regularly and will be able to advise far better than i can, but this was my experience last year. By complete chance my MOT is tommorrow so i will let you know how i get on this time around.
  2. Too right it will cost a lot to tune it. Since i joined this forum over a year ago, theer have been so many threads on tuning N/As. Simple answer is swap to a TT engine (some members on here do it for £3K all in). Tuning an N/A is very hard and apparently things like aftermarket air filters only reduce performance.
  3. Try 140 in a Fiat Uno Turbo !! thats scary
  4. Mines and N/A 295/35/19s with standard suspension and quite frankly its a nightmare in the wet. It handles far worse now in the wet than when i had 265/30/19s. 2nd gear wheelspin is always happening, the other day i even got third gear wheelspin whilst gunning it. I dont think mine is set up well at all (i know the 19s wont help). Any advice for a cheap fix as i dont want to spend loads on getting a full suspension setup at the present time.
  5. I want some (and some turbos so i actually need them)
  6. I hate these idiots too, and admit to flashing, shouting, swearing, gesturing etc etc until they get the idea that they are idiots. Its about time we had minimum speed limits in each lane (ive not quite worked out what happens when its gridlocked yet though) 50mph minimum in inside lane 70 mph minimum in middle lane 100mph minimum in outside lane Discuss !!!!!!!!
  7. Ask Jamie P. Im sure he will advise how a well sorted single does against most supercars.
  8. All i want for christmas is to win this competition
  9. I saw this sign whilst in Australia the other year. It was a bit hillbilly ish in the Northen territories where i was, but boy what a country. Was scared still of the crocs, spiders etc,. They had loads of wierd signs like this
  10. 11.6 sec quarter is quick. Are you reconsidering getting the Vet Jamie ?
  11. I would imagine its also hard to tow one away, ive never noticed a tow ring on one. However, they would probebly just damage it, tow or lift it and deny it. Most of these clampers are thugs and revel in it. On the other side of it, people who dont pay up (especially persistant ones) deserve the fines (not damaged cars).
  12. I have no experience of driving other supes, and i bought mine with 265/30/19s on it. Ive just had the arches rolled and moved up to 295/35/19s and i can tell you this much. In the dry, the wider tyres do give a bit more grip (but this could equally be the different tyres) In the wet the car is a LOT worse, back end slides all over, and mine is an N/A. I have to be very very carefull. I am seriously considering getting smaller rims for the winter despite loving the looks of the 19s. Best advice ever, is to take it easy.

  15. Check out this bird. About 2 minutes in it makes the best noises ever from a bird -Hilarious http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=VjE0Kdfos4Y&feature=related
  16. Sorry that was me trying to be funny. Obviously you have never watched "The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy". Either watch the old series on UK gold, or watch the film that was released the other year, both will explain what 42 means !!!!!!!!! INTRUIGED NOW ?
  17. I know your car, it used to belong to a bloke in Reading. It was in immaculate condition, a good buy.
  18. Yep i agree, the wrong offset, and illegal as they protude beyond the arches I used to run 265/30/19s without rolled arches no problems (i think widest you can go without rolling is 275. Ive now had my arches rolled and gone up to 295/35/19 with no problems. Beware of rolling though. Although it may only cost ~£45 to 80 a corner, if the paint cracks whist its being done, you will be shelling out a lot more on respray costs in the end. I think its better to sell the alloys and buy new ones.
  19. He is only young and hes already lucky enough to have a Supra !! Invest in property shares etc, dont blow too much on cars when you already have a good one
  20. Ok, help is still needed. I won the new mirror switch on E-bay and fitted it today. Put the dash back together and i still dont have woking mirrors - Doh. On the plus side, i fixed my fog light as one of the wires had come off. However, i now need suggestions as to what else could be the cause of the faulty mirrors. Could it be the fuse ? Could the new (from a breakers yard), switch also be faulty ? Ive checked my Supra handbook and can only find a fuse for the mirror heaters (which are working). I can find no reference to a fuse for the electric movement side of the mirrors. Any help apprechiated.
