  1. Professional type paint that has part hardener and part paint that's usually used with a paint gun. You can get it as a rattle can as well and you break the hardener inside, but you have to use it within a day, unlike a regular rattle can that hardens with air and can be used many times. You get a much better finish with a 2K paint.
  2. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1JZ-2JZ-Manual-Gearbox-Conversion-Bmw-Gearbox-Adaptor-Plate-Swap-/231634932496?hash=item35ee849310 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ABC-ClutchUK-Manual-Gearbox-Conversion-Supra-Soarer-JZX-Aristo-1JZ-2JZ-GTE-BMW-/181794524853?hash=item2a53cc4eb5 One problem with the BMW ZF that they do not have a speed sensor in the transmission.
  3. 75-100 shot of nitrous for spooling up the turbo and proper MT ET Street drag tyres in the back should yeild a lot better times. Less fuel and no passenger wont help your 60 ft and times much as you arent building enough boost off the line. Other option would be a higher rpm torque converter but your daily driving would suffer.
  4. You cant do it on glass head lights and do not need to as they do not fade. I also suggest clear coating the lights after you have done them, otherwise they will fade again quickly.
  5. Ooooo.. so tempted.. I dont want to run the china knock off in my car and the Hypertune is too expensive.
  6. I have the HKS Power writer software and cable for sale if you need one. English version and works without a dongle.
  7. A very shocking accident. Any idea what happened to the tyre? Did it blow out or came off the rim?
  8. Loving the project so far. About the paint, if there is some orange peeling, wet sand it with 2000 grit paper and use a buffer to polish it out. Here's the same that I did to a front bumper: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/32139684/20140710_123453.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/32139684/20140710_124248.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/32139684/20140710_124657.jpg
  9. Yes You could go as low as 86.25mm as well.
  10. Just read the thread-- Sorry about your bad luck Brazil.. Yes, and 3.5 bar on cold start up isnt normal at all. I get around 8 bar on a cold engine. All the cam and cam journal scoring is because low oil pressure. What did the oil pump look like?
  11. Correct is 49Nm / 36ft.lbs + 90 degrees: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/32139684/fwbolts.PNG If you are worried about it stripping, I'd just put red loctite and torque it something in between, the other bolts will keep the flywheel in place fine.
  12. I think it's doable as there's plenty of room when the gearbox is out. Worst case is that you will have to helicoil it.
  13. Have you tried drilling it and use a tap to get it out? Dont know what it's called, but like this: http://www.atoy.fi/kuva-data/119-014300011.jpg It's just me, but if you cant get it out without pulling the crank, I'd just leave it out. The bolt is so near the middle of the crank and in the end, I doubt it will cause any severe unbalance and after all it's only the end of the nut that is missing, which what, 5-10grams in a 15kg crank.
  14. I'm thinking of changing to Powerflex bushings. I'm also thinking about the SuperPro, but Powerflex has the soft version which I think would suit my needs better. Any pros / cons of either make? Also a question regarding the Powerflexes, the Rear Track Control Arm Outer Bush has two different versions, 39mm and 40.5mm, which one is correct for a 93TT? Also there are three rear ARB bushings 20, 21 and 22mm versions.
  15. I'd go tubular just because of the better sounding exhaust note. Also with a tubular manifold you can get it true divided setup. Log manifolds are open.
  16. I have the KW's on mine. I like them a lot. I used the stock top mounts.
  17. I would buy a used kit as you will get everything bolt on and tested. With a kit like that, you will need to pay a welder to weld the IC pipes, downpipe etc.. it will most likely cost more in the long run and more work. There's nothing wrong with an Ebay manifold, my friend just made over 1100hp with one. Another friend has done over 20k miles with an ebay turbo and it makes good power. But quality control is an issue, as you might not know which china maker will make the turbo.
  18. Speed signal usually. Try to bypass the odometer, it's a common fix.
  19. What hub dyno is that? Seems like very good load and long pull for 1000hp. Your head has probably lifted. Also check if the ARP washers have sunken in the head and run the stock washer if your new ARP's still come with the narrow ones. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/32139684/Musti/20140922_194003.jpg
  20. How much power are you aiming for? That single 044 wont do much more than 600bhp. I would consider a Walbro 450. My friend dynoed 700bhp on E85 with a single Walbro which would be the same as 1000bhp on regular fuel.
  21. You need to check the clearances. Most of the time you only need to swap one or two, but check them once you have everything opened up anyway..
  22. Love the rare and expensive parts. But I think the GTR would look a little better with some more thought on the exterior parts, looks a little busy to me.
  23. I have the Titan Motorsports Street intake manifold on my Supra with the stock throttle body and have made close to 1200hp with it on E85 and a 80mm turbo.
