  1. Looking at those pictures if I can find someone who can edge carpet in Norwich I should be able to make mine fit. Anyone know any special carpet people?
  2. Just to point out what the differece is if anyone else needs to know, I have found 3 pictures that will help. Sorry for whoevers pictures I have stolen Picture 1 is of a facelift carpet the same as the one I have in my booth that doesn't fit. Picture 2 you can see the plastic humps that cover the top of the suspension that the carpet goes over. Picture 3 you can see the parts of the aerotop boot that are different, that hold the roof panel on top of the plastic hump. You can see the carpet is cut out to go around them which is the difference in shape.
  3. Is that stitching designed to split when the airbag goes off?
  4. Well mine doesn't fit, keron says they are different, and toyota have a different part number for the aerotop.
  5. Thats a good idea. I will have a look at the shape of yours when its in and maybe I can get my carpet moded/cut and re-edged to make it the right shape Is that the one you messaged me about Evin? I called him and the boot carpet had a huge cut in it aparently.
  6. Definitely different. I found out the hard way when I sold my toyota boot speaker and mint carpet and bought a mint facelift carpet with a flap and a cubby hole thinking it would be much more useable....doesn't fit properly. They are a different shape near the back where the forward most towers are that hold the roof panel.
  7. I just ordered the metal monkey ones. They are stopping making all dial faces and just concentrating on stickers and decals going forward. They have about 6 sets of manual TRD ones left and then that is it....so better snap them up if you want them!
  8. ouch, some good/bad ones here. Another one was selling my mint NA on here on a whim because someone offered me what I paid for it and thought after 2 years thats not bad. Especially because I was hung over when he collected it and I trusted him and didn't count the money...ripped me off by £200. He wouldn't answer the phone when I called him and eventually answered a text saying he would pay me by bank transfer...then made up a story about the car needing a wheel bearing and refused to pay me and stopped answering. As you said ripped_fear, live and learn.
  9. I am sure there is a long list of things I have done related to buying, selling, modding cars that I look back at now and wish I hadn't but the one thing that I keep look at is TRD airbag steering wheels. I bought an MR2 import just because it had the TRD steering in it and thought I could make a quick £. Car cost £680 because the gearbox was about to pop. Swapped the steering wheel out, had the gearbox rebuilt and sold the car for more than I bought it and had it repaired for by few quid and got the steering wheel for nothing.....then sold it....idiot. Wish I had TRD steering wheel!
  10. I have a GZ aero bpu, love it. I had always thought about going big single and manual conversion, but with these cars being appreciating classics now I decided to stay as stock as I can
  11. The thing is....how will you know if they are correct or not? ANy news on this?
  12. Ah I only asked about the j-spec one which they were showing stock in Japan.
  13. Expensive for an na though, in that condition
  14. I think you can get it from Toyota, I asked about them a few months ago....for nearly £300 +vat if I remember correctly
  15. Don’t think you can repair the mat, just needs a new one.
  16. They can, they just need to order it from Japan. Takes a bit longer than normal that’s all. But....they don’t do metal plates anymore, it will be a security sticker.
  17. who would I see to get one made? I have never messed about with aerials....other than welding up the holes
  18. hmmm....which makes me think is it really worth getting a gauge if I can't do anything about it anyway, unless I get a new ECU and open up the doors of tuning. Not really worth it you think?
  19. I have seen a few people look for these (me included and still looking!) over the years as they are a different shape to the standard carpet due to having cut outs for the holders of the roof panel when its in the boot. I wondered if someone in the know may be able to confirm if this is the correct shape for the aerotop as the ebay seller doesn't know, presumably they are just selling on and don't know the difference. Link here... https://www.ebay.com/itm/1993-1998-Toyota-Supra-Carpet-Replacement-Cargo-Area-Cutpile-Fits-2DR/282854714892?hash=item41db746e0c:m:mIbEl9XhpLUlPsWyY1bzFcw&vxp=mtr They look to be different to the standard one, but no returns so before I take a chance and get one I thought I would ask if anyone knows specifically that it is the correct shape. Also I thought I would start this discussion in case anyone else searches in future.
  20. I have a huge stone chip in my windscreen, been there for years but later this year I will be striping the car for a full bare metal respray and willout a new screen in. Now I have just got a DAB stereo (kenwood) and don’t really want to stick the aerial to the screen when I will be taking it out relatively soon so thought I would look into alternatives. I came across these... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F173009513846 Which seem to be the only type of aerial that gets6 star rating on DAB radio sites, better than the 3-4 startgat the stick in the glass type get. Has anyone used one? I am wondering if that mount can somehow be spun around so it can be used in the standard aerial position?
  21. What kind of agreed values are you guys getting from insurance companies?
  22. I guess the oter thing to add to this is I am no engine tuner. If I get a reading that tells me my engine is running to rich what do i do with that information?
  23. I've just been reading about AFR wideband sensors and EGT temp probes. I have an EGT temp probe in my exhaust with the wire behind my dash coming up to the a-pillar where I have never actually fitted the EGT gauge...its in my garage. Instead of fitting the AFR am I right in thinking can just fit my EGT gauge and that will tell me if i'm running rich/lean?
