  1. If you are bored, download one of those self contained Linux disty's like Chubby Puppy or something. That is much more fun (and quite possibly useful) to get working , won't work on USB Drives bigger than 1Gig though.
  2. Sorry dude, it seems that I can get MS-DOS 5.0 -> 6.22 and Windows 3.1 -> 3.2 (Had no idea there was a 3.2 - although that seems to have been introduced to allow for Chinese character sets). Oddly enough though I cannot source Windows 95/98 and ME - I know these were EOL'd - but then why still have the MS-DOS and ancient 3.x versions !!?! Hehe, ah well.
  3. Aye, Windows 1.0 was a little before my exposure to PC's (was released when I was 10!), only had access to BBC's, PET's and a Vic 20 back then!! Nostalgia++ Having a grope around to see if I can source you an ancient dusty copy of 1.0 :D lol, don't think our MSDN subscription covers it though lol
  4. Oooh Windows Windows 1.0 released on November 20, 1985. Blimeys, and it didn't receive an update till 1987... I remember back in the day using 2.0, sod all you could do with it back then though - I think it had a god awful version of paint and a tacky word processor on it.
  5. Ooer, lol - perverse. Did Windows 1 ever make it to release? I always thought it was demo'd but never used in anger!? Shows what I know
  6. P.P.S. I just thought it isn't the rotor diameter + caliper size radially that is the problem - I guess it is the proximity of the spokes being a deep dish and the *width* of the calipers... hmm doh. My ACE 18's are in fact probably fine as my chap at the garage suggested ... (gains new insight).
  7. P.S. If mine are no good and these will cover my front GReddy 355's + 6 pots I am most assuredly interested :D - sadly me finding this out will take about another week or so.
  8. Cheers Jake, had my paranoid "omfg not more expense" head on . Well Cest la vie if my brakes are too big... guess I will have to purchase bigger rims :D:D:D.. Hmmm, now to phrase this appropriately to the other half... "now look love, you know how much better you will feel when you know how quickly I can stop right?"... lol... hmm maybe I am dreaming she will understand on new rim costs
  9. Out of sheer curiosity - what is so special about UK specification calipers/(rotors?) that make alloy rim choice so tricky? I only ask as I am a tad worried as my ACE F1 18"s need to clear some GReddy 6 pots with 355mm rotors.... I was told they "should" be ok for this. I see so many posts about the UK spec brakes being hard to accomodate... how big are they? Are the calipers just insanely big or something?
  10. Yeah, I know - on loan to England from Wales myself (actually a Cardiffiffian born and bread). Heh, my point being there is unlikely to be any mining around *any* coastal area like that especially one as low lying as the Docks/Bute area - then again, who knows with the crazy Welsh folk... I mean Torchwood is only a stones throw away - wonder if that shows up on any planning docs hehe. Good luck with this amigo, I have no idea - I used to know a town and country planner for South Glamorgan (I guess te county of Cardiff now), but lost contact many years ago arse
  11. Well I can almost guarantee there will be no mine shafts in that area so near the docks *glug glug*
  12. 31, top ones never emerged but fully formed (nice shot on an x-ray), bottoms ones made a bid for freedom and kind of half got there. They are ok at the moment, but every once in a while they will threaten to move some more - and boy do they give me headaches! So I can sympathise Dentist said if they move any more I will likely need em wipping out.. ooer!
  13. If it's shiny, I am normally interested
  14. Getting a bit long in the tooth this order Hjalp! Any news would be good.
  15. Sounds about right! I have seen at least two other silver Sup's coming out of turnings onto Rushey way and I have seen one pulling in to the Total garage a few times (not to fill up of course ). I try and wave/flash whenever possible I always want to go to various meets but work has been such a demanding wench these last few months something always crops up (yes even on weekends and evenings) WRT Membership pack, feel free to lob one through my door or I can come and collect if it would save some club funds
  16. Heya, Oooh, didn't realise you were that close Probably all on the same bits of cabling. I think the loss of connection on Friday night was a power spike scrambling the box at the top of my road for a while (my lights went really bright a few times). Yes, many page timeouts and after a while the problem seems to clear itself. Mad!
  17. Intermittent issues appear to be partly down to their transparent web proxies losing their DNS lookup abilities (or something similar) - popping the ip address of various sites into the browser seems to work. Friday night I completely lost my ntl connection from about 10pm-11:30pm. When these web browsing problems occur, my direct connections to work seem to work fine when using ssh and most online gaming seems fine too. Their service status pages mention some ongoing works which could explain a few things (depending on the areas you are in): http://www.ntl-isp.ntl.com/ServiceStatus/ TBH normally the service is fine for me, it is just since late thursday through the weekend it has been hit and miss.
  18. Kings road may have been me (I work there) - I have seen your car around a few times, looks sweeet as. That colour... rare as hens teeth
  19. ETA? Had mine all filled out and waiting a little while, no rush, just one of those - ping moments.
  20. lol, just stumbled on this. I have no idea on losses for real, but you can imagine *some* as fuel pumps/filters/air filters/injectors get on in age. If you dont service a vehicle of any type the equine propensity will dwindle! NA -> TT drop - I would imagine the TT would suffer worse from lack of service for the simple reason it has more to lose, and has more points of failure (even if the engine technically is "better"). It is just one of those things. No real correct answer. Most Supes you will find are LOVED by their owners and will never be left in a state of decrepid release... it is unlikely a Supe owned by a serious individual will lose much based on its original "factory" power give or take the ravages of time :)most of us like to replace worn bits with upgrades above and beyond the OEM spec (and will have power +++ the OEM spec)
  21. Hiya, I have one of these DSC+TSD modules from Thor, had it installed no probs, then went in to have APEXi Neo installed, came back with Speedo not working and Engine/Warning light on - removed DSC from the car and everything was ok but back to kph and with the 112.5mph limit. Spoke to Pete at Thor (real nice chap) and sent the module back for testing, Pete said it tested out ok, sent it back to me no extra charge - re-fitted, and it worked!! Mad! It had been ok ever since, then recently my battery went FUBAR and I had to get a jump start from someone - after that, same symptoms came back Feck! I thought. Sent Pete another message - he was flummoxed at how I could keep knackering the unit... (as was I)... before I did anything more drastic, I went back to the car and did what I do to all my malfuncitoning PC's and peripherals and other electrics - switch off/leave a few minutes, switch back on... So I removed the -ve battery terminal, left it a few minutes, then re-attached. Jumped back in the car drove it up the road - all back to normal and has been working perfectly ever since. It seems the units can get confused with power spikes/dips - I also hear EL dials can interfere with them on rare occasion. Dunno if this helps, but it is worth a shot. Cheers, Simon. P.S. I think the guys at Thor have been busy/away or something as it took a little while before I got a reply, but they are definately responsive now. P.P.S. - double check the wiring, obvious one but just check against the diagram. Did you install yourself? P.P.P.S - After re-reading I was just checking how you know it is the Thor DSC+TSD, or are you just calling them for advice? I also have a copy of the wiring diagrm I could scan if I get a chance to dig it out - as I guess if it was fitted when you bought it, you may no longer have it?
  22. Heh, I thought the main reason for disconnecting the battery before arsing around with the steering wheel/dash was to stop the irritating light coming on in the dash!? (which needs some cunning, guile, a paper clip and some luck to fix?) Other than that it shouldn't set the sucker off - unless of course you are thinking of pouring a few gallons of saline solution into the vents or some such stuff (not unheard of ).
