Umm, it is like growing up with marketese.. you see how MS have to put Multikey Human Interface 2006™ (keyboard driver) on to things - add specs/models/trade names and enumerate *interesting* features of software (stuff taken for granted) - just a simple example. Then re-brand - are you a fan of Dilbert? I think Dilbert sums up the MS view (or even big corporate view) of life in the tech industry. Companies like Mac seem to go for more direct marketing that actually tell you whatyou are getting - simple, to the point.

Award for most efficient/succinct thread ever? Yup gunmental as already stated -mine will be going - "Rainflow Silver" - in the next week or so... anyone else used this colour?

LMFAO... ok it *may* only be funny to some but lol - just woke the missus with laughter
-
lol heheh whatever /hug (in a mannish non sexual - omg too much beer lets hope this isn't read the wrong way - way).
-
carl0s dude, I know you are - in the nicest way possible, attempting to dilute/diffuse a hopelessly unpleasant topic - but could you put your pics in another thread - not in a negative way - I am enjoying looking at them, just in future if I want to reference them (I am *that weird*) I would prefer not to have to look for (or at) this thread I am unusual - I do love other peoples holiday photos

What shocked me when I first found out is : I get paid, there is tax on what I earn... ok fair eonugh My employer pays me - they get taxed seperately, on a much higher rate - what they pay me... err wtf!? No wonder companies that work out of th UK are struggling to be competitive with the rest of the world!!! So the Government take their piece of tax out of me AND my employer?!?!? MAD! You live you pay tax, you die you pay huge tax! Inheritance tax... the most wrong tax I have ever heard of in my life. At this point when I hear of peoples woes with death duty that I think Guy Fawkes had it right!

The Supra is so sexy I think it looks good with a spoiler and no spoiler... the factory spoiler is sort of a trade mark IMO (one which I have sadly seen copied on a ford puma (much to my mirth)). My parents, on hearing I was considering going spoilerless actually told me not to do it, as it gave the car more character!?!? Blimey - they never took an interest in what I did to my fiesta!! I have opted for the slightly nicer curves (IMO) of the TRD style spoiler (not on the car yet). I love the Sup in most of its shapes and forms

heheh, been to Vegas twice Know what you mean. You can visit so many places when you are in Vegas :D (edit: err and to a lesser extent when in Flordia: cf: Epcot!!)

lol... not sure what happened there... but it may be ther beer. I have this insane urge to visit Venice all of a sudden ...

I have seen many whacky ideas on global warming.. Cows and termites produce more of the gases that *harm* the environment than any of us that drive a Supra We should really be looking to measure/monitor our impact - but to be honest with huge volcanic eruptions going on wtf is the point? Also at any one point in the future - somewhere like Yellowstone could erupt and wipe us out - mooting the whole debate? The emissions we (us humans driving our insane dinosaur goo munching automovehicles) produce is DWARFED by natural disasters... yes we don't help - NO we aren't the sole reason behind climatic change. Do we understand climate change/ice ages fully? F*ck no! Climate change specialists are only as good as the data they are given and the speculations made on extrapolation (same as any scientist - I know I used to be one - a phamarceutical biochemist if you have to know) - who knows who is right?? The important bit is... What do I fill my Supra up with in 20 years time???? And will it be easily converted - (and how much HP do I lose?!?!?)

I almost went manual But my purchase of engine+transmission didn't materialise. Thought I could get some outlet with my other halfs new car purchase... but she bought a fricking auto rofl Although - the auto in a small car doesn't half make you appreciate the Auto in a Supra... and omg not just a small engine thing - I drove an Auto Prelude 2.2litre jobby... god that Auto was AWFUL in comparison to the Sup!!! I do miss gears form time to time...

I think tihs thread has long since deviated off on its own tangent - but these sort of highly volatile *discussions* normally do. The shooting of those guys and the resulting fatality sounded terrible, and quite possibly an atrocity that shouldn't go unpunished. A race inspired shooting? possible - but doubtful, did Imi intend for us to read it that way? I don't know - possible, but I don;t get offended by it - intrigued, but not offended. References to the unfotunate Brazilian chaps shooting - very very regretful - sad, but an unfortunate by product of the terrorist acts (not entirely related to the original story but I see where the thread was going), if the guys on 7/7 hadn't aggravated and hightened paranoia of the security forces (paranoia not unfounded in my mind) and demonstrated the utter disrespect for human life that these higly motivated yet narrow minded people have - he would have still been alive to this day, the security forces fault? NO, the w*nkers with the bombs - YES! - the families they came from - NO! Guys we all have our opinions, and as long as we don't resort to violence and word play is all we have here - then there is still hope for the human race Life is too short to hate, I find it too hard to hold a grudge for more than about 1-2 hours... it is sadly in human nature to distrust and not like your neighbours - territorial thing, very basal. We fear things we either can't, don't or won't understand. You could write (and it has been done) huge dissertations on this area of sociology and the human psyche, it is a complex minefield - religion, race, sectarianism - it is the grimy underbelly that our ancestors and us have had to mature through and we are still blindly finding our way and concepts a lot of people can't or won't let go of at this point in our socialogical evolution. We all can feel those extremist views well up in ourselves - I remember the feelings of anger welling up within me when I saw the twin towers fall - the sheer horror... you can't help yourself.. NEED someone to hate, someone to take revenge on... then the horrible footage that the media heartlessly showed of people in non descript middle eastern areas (who knows where they didn't seem to elaborate, and who knows if the translations were correct) - screaming praises that the "head of the snake" had been attacked... err - nice guys - maybe that footage was out of context?, at a time when people are looking for meaning in such atrocities, and needing someone to hate and lash out at - hey presto, what is dumped straight in our laps? a nice convenient punch bag... (I know the people if they were cheering at the atrocities should be ashamed of themselves in our views but who knows what shit they have been told?). So much angst built up in our society made this a key pivotal HUUUUGE platform for people on all sides to abuse and manipulate - strong images, frightening images. We (the people that have the wonderful liberty of discussing such things openly on a public forum), I would hope can consider ourselves the "informed" *intelligent* ones (I hope - or at least striving to get there), and should be able to look past all that and see - that as always, the minority extreme, simple yet motivated idiots can take a few words as "gospel" and do extraordinary - and atrocious unbelievable things. We shouldn't let the actions of such weak minded strong willed idiots RUIN what could potentially (and hopefully will) be a unique multi cultured loosely integrated society that can benefit ALL. We need people to come together and... for f*cks sake - understand COMPROMISE! You cannot please everyone - so we all bend a little. A little should be ok for everyone to cope with. Sadly, Man as a species - can possibly be likened to dog - that although has been domesticated and bread to be mild mannered and is normally treated as our best friend, protector, comforter - is only a few generations from WOLF.... We are a young species fighting our primal instincts it would seem A society with uneven evolution of moral and intellectual enlightenment. Blimey, this beer is good!

lol - fair point, old reliables that haven't fallen apart by now can be deemed a product of D^Carwinism?

Not sure who said it first, but this could be taken as an abject lesson demonstrating the adage: When you find yourself in a hole, stop digging! Welsh (Mostly), English (lesser), German(small amount) Jewish descent here (Pretty Cosmopolitan) - family is Church in Wales - I went to a Church school that churned me out a perfectly formed Atheist that follows science . I don't consider my views extreme and I don't normally like to force any of my values on people (I don't have many moral values to force!!). I have friends from all over the world, all colours creeds religions (although I have to be honest I don't know too many Muslims - so as with all things I am not informed about - I have no prejudice or judgment, but strongly suspect any I meet in general life will be perfectly decent human beings) in fact I hope I can call all you guys my extended friends (How sad am I?). A lot of my friends have religious and political beliefs that I think are crazy - but I still call them friends, we still go out and drink/eat/go to the cinema. I can empathise with views from all sides on this one - tbourner has every right to feel and believe in what he wants, part of living in this society is accepting others views. It's not like he is forcing them on us, you can choose to ignore him if you like - I like to hear what people think. I do believe he has put himself in a non-politically correct hole there, but his intentions were not to offend, he was just pointing out he agrees with *some* of the things that the BNP have to say, (which in all fairness is something the BNP have been working hard at; acceptance by toning down their policies and listening to the grumbling masses unhappy by the media driven deluge of *immigrant dissent* stories), but to express his opinions, so lets all be like little Fonzies As Bill and Ted say: Be excellent to one another! *time for my medicine I think*

Jees, it would make for REEEALLLY boring viewing... mind you, I think the TV show Big Brother has shown people will watch ANY shite - oooh maybe I can make some money from it!?!? Install away - you will cry tears of boredom - in fact tempted to set up a perma web cam like others have before... welcome to my front room hehe.

My life would be empty without all the spam I get, it makes me feel like people actually want to communicate their views with me - as an individual - I feel accepted by society. I just love the thrill of rifling through it every morning... afternoon... evening. Leaves me with a nice warm feeling all over I wonder what No. 10 would spam me about - looking forward to it - would make a change from all the Nigerian scams and "m4k3 yUr d1ck h4rdr and b1ggr, 500% more volume, shE w1ll luvv you more!" messages.....
-
Congratulations and good luck P.S. Hope you have written into your pre-nups or into the vows, something about "for richer for poorer, but the Supra stays regardless!" ?

...just find one that has been loved My P reg Fiesta went 6 years with nowt serious but a warped disc and having to replace the air bypass valve (£53 - 5 minute job) - I had her from 13k miles and put an extra 55k on the wee beasty. She went for just 1k a while back and is still ticking along now, although I believe a radiator hose went shortly after I traded her in for my Sup but thats neither here nor there. Ford - as I said - WYSIWYG - not gonna last like a Supra now is it (although at the rate the prices are going, probably holds its value longer lol ) Also for the price - probably one of the better all round options. SO - just off my own experience Ford aren't *that* bad
-
Ford Fiesta of about any mark really, they do exactly what they say on the tin, cheap to run, maintain, service and insure. Majority of them carry more in the boot etc than you may expect. Reasonably pokey and forgiving drive - bit of a newbs car and an all rounder. /shrug. I like em for what they are - good reasonably priced WYSIWYG cars.
-
I quite like the look of the deep purple one on the right If you were nearer Reading I could suggest an excellent body shop

I have stuck with direct line for years, until recently when they have become insanely uncompetitive. I searched around and found a half decent quote with both Bell and Admiral, within a few £ of each other - now the missus decides to get a car and I spot a multicar ad for admiral. She has 0 years no claims etc no owning before, I have 7 years nc on my Supe (and prev car), they (Admiral) offer me bonkers discount for both cars - can't complain. Obviously they wont replace like for like with a standard policy, but letting them know what I have modified (and even plan to have modified) - my quote was bonkers low - £470. It all depends on the type of cover you want but fully comp, legal etc (but not like for like replacement) -
-
Nah, just specialist!
-
They know where I live already. They know what I do all day - nothing of interest to anyone, so c'est la vie I don't care about ID cards tbh, I do care about things costing me sh*tloads of cash! (spend enough on the damned Sup as it is ).
-
Signed! I don't normally mind about ID cards, bimoetric data blah blah, on the whole I have fook all to hide- but this is a disturbing further move to auto-tax-buggery and big brotherism that is very much worrying everyone now... Extremely open to abuse and you can guarantee it will be appropriately mismanaged if it comes to fruition.
