Sounds like the exact same things gone/going as on my old P reg Fiesta... In fact the day after I traded her into the garage for my Supe, the cooling system went kaput... Oopsie. Is yours sounding quite "tappety" now too? She was quite rattly under the bonnet no matter how much adjustment to the valve clearances were done. The up and coming potential costs on keeping the ole Festa running was one of those things that tipped me towards getting the Supe when I saw her (seemed a no brainer at the time ). Don't get me wrong, I had many happy reliable years of driving out of the lil beast (I think I did > 50k trouble free MOT passing miles).

Not sure if this will help: http://library.reed.edu/lang/spanishkeyboard.html Shy of that, here have an @... Copy and paste it from this message

To say that smells a little iffy... Jesus Johnny, smells like something died I wouldn't touch that with a barge pole, but thats me Extended Warrany? How can I lose!

Sad to say, I drove a Blue P reg Ford Fiesta - as my first and only car... then I drove a friend to a local "friendly" garage where I muttered as a casual remark: Gee, thats a Nice Supra, what is she in for?... (For sale apparently).. whoops, now plummeting down the slippery slope... and loving it

My regular fault turned out to be (in the end) some dodgey solder points on the odometer (apprently a common fault). Once that was re-soldered it never happened again. My fault came on in pretty much the same circumstances you describe btw.

Just spotted this thread. I would be very interested in some nice shiny twiddly bits for my dash

lol. Where are your usual haunts? I have a bad habit of having that "WTF!?!?!" look on my face quite a bit, it usually isn't any particular reason - sad to say, I was just born like it I also try and ack anybody I see with a Supe if they flash or not *hugs*

It should fit in your NA mate, as it appears to be an NA engine (2JZ-GE) Edit: lol beaten to the punch

Quite possibly me - although there are a few around these here parts Mostly stock looking silver jap NA with ACE 18" Rims (probably looking filthy too) - About to undergo a huuuge overhaul.

I seem to have developed this problem too - exactly the same symptoms. I thought it was the seatbelt at first, but it also happens when I have a passenger buckled up. There is a little plastic nubbin just inside the interior of the door handle that seems to suddenly not be gripping on to anything (loose and vibrates occsionally when idling). Haven't had a chance to dive in to the innards of the door to figure it out yet - if I ever do will let you know

Picked one up for £175 - sorted, should be with me tomorrow or friday - Supra Weekend wheee! Cheers all for comments, fedback and general sympathies

All fluids/lubricants, bits and pieces had been checked and sorted for a full service just before Christmas - only thing obvious that needed attention was slightly worn rear tyres It was apparently "one of those things™". Guess I was just SOL. Sometimes feel like I was born on an unlucky day, in an unlucky month, on a bad year, during a freak outbreak of shitty fortune!

Sadly it gave me very little warning, as in ... none. I had been happily driving around, no unusual noises, reverse parked up in a level tar mac car park. Disappeared into shops for 30 mins, came back - pulled forward and turned a corner at about 5mph when it felt like I had hit a curb (there was no curb or obstacle) - was a real bang and shudder... but the car continued smoothly from that point for a few feet so I stopped and checked for obstacles/ex-pedestrians in the road/wheel arch . I pulled away again after finding nothing obvious, and upon re-applying accelerator past 15mph it did this enormous banging noise 3-4 times with juddering throughout the car. I pulled over, did all the usual checks - nothing visibly wrong, wheels in tact no broken springs - no animals or small children stuck in the mechanics. I gingerly pulled the car forward to a safe spot and it made no noise whatsoever, so I decided to limp it the few miles home very carefully.. only on pulling away at low speeds did it make any noises (and not every time) - in hind site I should have just abandoned her on the road side and got my recovery greenflag type folks to get her, but it was late on a saturday, it was cold and I had an irate passenger .

Thanks Teri and supPro for quick responses to my pathetic pleas for help (yeah I know I should have checked the classifieds.. I am just like an irate father or something at the moment). I hate not being able to jump into my car and go for a cruise (or just bloody well get around as it is my only car ). I have two avenues to follow up and hopefully if all goes well should be SupraEnabled™ by the weekend

Does anyone have any idea of where is the quickest/cheapest/easiest place to get hold of a 1994 Jap spec NA standard diff (recon/2nd hand/new)? My Sup is my only car and she is looking to be off the road for a while now after making some "interesting" noises in a car park at low speeds last Saturday. Not looking good for reconditioning the diff apparently as when it was stripped down "little bits of metal that used to be gears" came out :( Any input appreciated. P.S. I am in the Reading area if that helps any

Option b, but scowls and sometimes rear fogs come in for extreme offenders The traffic police have been known to pull people over for abusing the overtaking lanes... when there is nothing to overtake! Apparently, if a traffic cop catches you in the act of doing that - it can be a severe wrap on the wrist (something about common assault )

Your average oil fire at local refineries tends to bring your average soop drivers emissions into scope a bit.. I mean.. I seriously doubt there are enough of us in the country to deal a death blow to the environment as big as that during the period of the next 50 years... so - in essence - sh*t happens .. take your average volcano... whoops there go a few million ton of sulphur (screw you IUPAC - I use the old british spelling!!) dioxide and carbon dioxide into the air DAMN YOU MOTHER NATURE - STOP POLLUTING YOU HAG!!! (I guess she never attended any of those conventions or signed any treaties). Not condoning malicious over use of high CC overtuned engines for our pleasure... what am I talking about.. of course I am! Who here doesn't enjoy a long pointless cruise in the soop with intermittent beasting? Environment wasn't my concern when buying a soop tbh - I drove a fiesta for 7 years before I bought her.... give me a break!!!! If I wanted to be Environmentally aware I would have bought a Prius or something - or worse still ... used public transport!!!
-
Sorry it is a bit late, but I think I should be good for the 4th if nobody minds (still Maccy D's on A4?). Would be nice to meet some fellow soop freaks (I am only just getting started on the slippery slope of owning one). Would be nice meeting some like minded folk

Another interesting possibility for mysterious unpleasant popping noises (from the front though): http://mkiv.com/techarticles/front_end_popping_noise/index.html Apparently a common fault with one of the motor mounts (says driver side in the aritcle, but suspect it would be passenger side if the guy that wrote it was from UK )
