  1. yeah exactly, you need a polish or cutting agent to get rid of swirls and a careful washing/waxing technique not to put them straight back in again
  2. In what way, do you mean by not having a dead engine, or because you increased the mpg by running a good afr?
  3. the clay is much stiffer than bluetac, I'm sure it must do a much better job...
  4. RE050A seem to be one of the best tyres on the market, but they are more of a dry tyre, won;t be as special in the wet I think, but similar to the Goodyear GS-D3s from what the reviews seem to indicate
  5. Of the things I've done (rather than were already done), probably: RLTC (driveability in all conditions, can really use the power for fast road use) BPU (or double decat, get the power to match the looks that the car always should have had) Alarm (peace of mind)
  6. same here too. Works well. It comes with detailing spray, but you could use soapy water, i.e. water with car shapoo as per washing the car. always keep the area well lubracted or it tends to stick and possibly mark the paint slightly. always turn the clay (or use fresh) to avoid rubbing grit etc on your paint easy job though and satisfying if it needs doing, makes the paint feel nice and smooth and it gets a good shine once polished/waxed
  7. Towards Burgess Hill. I was behind you in a new red fiesta, flashed, think you saw and turned around (probably thought who the feck is this weirdo lol) Numberplate, did remember it now I've forgotten it already lol you were driving uber sensibly!
  8. I think terminator on here can do them for you if you don;t want to create your own, or want one to get started with.
  9. ok cheers, well I need to order in the next day or two, if you can let me know please cheers, that really is very cheap indeed!
  10. thanks for all the help everyone yes I have Falken 452's on the rear at the moment, they seemed pretty good but they are worn out too! an expensive month this one!
  11. Right, I can wait no longer for tyres, really need to order some new ones asap. Can't decide between Bridgestone RE50A Pole Positions and Goodyear Eagle GS-D3 Decided I'd plump for the RE50A Pole Positions today, they are slightly more money but do well on reviews. Then I realised there is a non pole position version (and it doesn't do so well in tests, so I don't want that). I was looking here (good prices) http://www.mytyres.co.uk/start.html at size 235/40/18 for the fronts, rears to follow in a week or two - same type unfortunately it's one of those annoying sites where you can't link to the content directly, but does anyone know if these will definitely be Pole Position versions of the tyre? (or talk me out of the Bridgestones before I part with my hard earned cash) cheers
  12. Black in Crawley car park (for the cinema etc) last night around 9:45 pm or so And a Silver one in Crawley today around 4-5pm ish, large rear spoiler on it
  13. well done if you have to ask then you don't need them lol (but it's just a way of applying styles to a site in a structured way such that the style information is separate from the main html, which is better and means you can transform the look of a site in seconds by switching styles... i.e. changing one file not every file on a site).
  14. it's probably not even loading the stylesheet in by the looks of it, hence why the fonts and everything are different. But did you even set a stylesheet up or are they just in line styles? that's the problem with tools like dreamweaver, they are ok but they do a lot for you automagically and sometimes it leaves you in a pickle, it never hurts to look at the html itself to see exactly what is going on but as a guess for the alignment problem, it might just be the extra space used up by the menu, making everything squished in horizontally. Try adjusting the spacing accordingly on the cols - whatever way you've divided the page up, probably with tables (which is the old fashioned way of doing it). Try to set the widths as page percentage perhaps to get a page that scales ok according to the users screen size

sometimes a group buy pops up on here, that can save a few pennies if you can wait long enough. I'm not sure who will be doing the next one though
  16. Make sure your car is in good shape to handle the upgrade then go for it, I doubt you would regret it. but if you have any reason to suspect any problems like worn turbos then I'd think twice. Sort out the problems before doing it, that way you won't be left broken down and without a car when something breaks. It's an excellent value for money upgrade, I can't think of many (any) cars that can go as well as a bpu supra for the cost of a bpu upgrade! I didn't notice much in terms of fuel economy but accelerating that much harder does stress everything else more, brakes etc and so these need to be in good shape as well as having some good tyres and suspension too really - but that's all common sense isn't it. The only downside, it's a slippery slope from there on in... !
  17. Outside squires garden centre. Gold badges and a large black rear spoiler. Turned left at the roundabout and went off up the road.
  18. if it wasn't burning oil, i.e. no blue smoke / nasty smell and the level light came on it's probably not a big deal. Probably the level was a bit borderline low (which is not great, but it's not nasty news) or as others have said, the sensor it wonky. You should have a look on the dipstick / in the oil filler hole and at the cap to see the general sign/level of the oil to see if it's been well serviced. I'd rather have a slightly low level of fresh new oil than lots of black thin worn out oil... and after a drive some of the oil is still around the engine, and if you're on a slope the level can read wrong too. So always take these things into consideration.
  19. haha that's proper rubbish, but suppose it doesn't matter what it looks like so long as it does the job. Mind you, looks like some of it was about to fall off, you would have had an instant and unexpected boost hike for free
  20. ahhh I've heard this theory before, it's basically a misguided application of the laws of static friction. What it doesn't take into account is that tyres don't entirely grip using normal rules of friction for fairly flat surfaces, they grip in a different way because roads are very coarse and irregular surfaces.
  21. that's exactly what I was going to suggest. I've done it before to someone I sat next to. I didn't flip the screen. I laughed for hours after watching this guy trying desperately to double click, select and drag his icons and wondering what the hell was going on so easy to do, you could flip the image before setting it as the desktop - hide the original icons somewhere in a folder. Installing sub7, back orifice etc is asking for trouble, especially in the work place, some companies would probably consider that gross misconduct if they found out...
  22. wow, lovely wheels now that's what I call a proper deep dish!
  23. I'm not sure but I'd feel very sorry for the clutch lol
