  1. The gf has just bought a brand new Ford Fiesta [Zetec Climate] for a little over that. I've driven it and it handles really well. The gf loves it. ETA (from the gf) : It's a 1.4. It has loads of gadgets to play with, the lights and wipers are all automatic, which I like. Good Aircon, automatic mirrors that fold in when you lock it. Heated front and rear windscreen (and side mirrors). It's a girls car really. I love it!! The colour is Colorado Red and cleans up really well. The wheels, tinted windows, etc are all obviously optional extras. But with everything, still comes in under 11k.
  2. When you do the painting, you have to do the colours in the order of the writing on the bottom of the painting. If that makes any sense.
  3. Yeah it's a really old point and click game. Originally on the Amiga I think. Monkey Island was a good'un too.
  4. It's a non-standard switch, so it could be anything!
  5. I thought that's why he was here?
  6. I'm looking for a copy of Simon the Sorcerer [or the second one] for the PC, does anyone have it stashed away anywhere?
  7. needed for mot, anyone do me a reasonable set (oem or aftermarket) for a good price?
  8. yeah exactly, if internal parts are worn no oil is going to replace the worn areas, that would literally be 'magic' and that ain't gonna happen. Most likely it's just a thick oil that works well in worn engines and maybe helps the owner to think things aren't as bad as they really, for a while...
  9. I really like that! If I didn't already have a TT I would buy it and add a turbo later.
  10. ahhh well I won't be able to make this one. Did get my new tyres and got them fitted today (looks mean) but realise I need some new front pads before the mot, so another few days yet before I'm back on the road. Enjoy yourselves hope the weather is good
  11. looks like that clio was automatically stripping itself out, it's falling to bits and owner probably doesn't give a crap about it. It's true though, the clio gained so much on one bend along because the evo was early braking, so clearly the evo driver was a novice, new to the track, taking it easy and learning the track and so on I kept up with a big motorbike down a country lane the other day, because I drove like a complete nutter and the biker was probably shit scared, means my punto run around is faster than big bike? me think not lol
  12. when it comes down to two amateurs s on the track by far the biggest factor will be down to driver ability and knowledge of the track... so the video doesn't really prove much, after all they are not actually racing!
  13. getting car ready for mot getting rid of 3 trees (doh!) drinking beer enjoying the weather if it's nice... (fingers crossed)
  14. I can't make it, car not mot'd yet, new tyres going on tomorrow but mot not until next week
  15. chilli

    Debadging

depends what sort they are, the one I had on the back that said supra I eased off with a hair dryer to soften the glue and a plastic spatula to gently wedge under it. best thing is to take your time, it leaves a mess, use some fine compound and polish to get the paint back to nice after...
  16. complete set of new Bridgestone RE050A tyres = £550 fitting etc + £50 new battery + new terminals etc + £80ish Battery clamps + £20 = £700 and that's just maintenance lol need mot yet, that's +£50 + probably new set of brake pads +£70 = £120 no wonder I feel poor today
  17. welcome to bpu land, enjoy it, it will (should) seem like a new car all over again
  18. no not me, my other half did though
  19. Hey, what do you know, I think it will be going to "The Garage" in worlds end for the mot, are you psychic lol?, they said they might be able to do the tyres too but I wasn't convinced they'd be ok with low profile 35 series tyres having previously had bad experiences with garages and low profiles (got a damaged wheel on a previous car) Small world though, you know Nick? He's always been good with Mots down there I think the copper would have to be in a bad mood, was just wondering really. I think I'll have to take the chance on it, I'll only be going straight there and back, then it's only next outing will be straight for the mot itself then I can start using it again woot!
  20. ahhh yes, see that's what I thought but the letter of the law doesn't seem to indicate that clearly, maybe it's a generally accepted thing unless you get a b@stard copper
  21. It's insured and taxed. The place doing the mot can no do the tyres, the place that does the tyres does not do mots I think (but I'll check that)
  22. Mot expired the other day, been waiting for my nice new tyres since then. Got those now, need to get to a garage to get them fitted, technically I can't drive it though? Only to a place of MOT, so it should be towed! There is no way I'm towing it, and no way I'm trusting a mobile fitter... so what gives, I just have to go for it and hope for the best? what a stupid law! can't wait to get mot'd and back on the road
  23. yeah that's the one, used to pass that when I was down that way all the time, looked nice
  24. that's a good question, have thought about this. Bit worried about the smoke and mess. When I tried to burn a little before it created lots of smoke, aromatic smoke that was quite pungent! It was rather green though, maybe it's ok when dried out? What do you do with the mess after? Was thinking of an incinerator to keep the fire tidy, garden not massive and I don't want a ruined patch of ground really.
