  1. whats the quandry, why on earth would you keep a speed limiter? I don't get the problem...
  2. yeah I know what you're saying, it was the condescending / patronising way in which he dealt with me that I didn't like at all *sarcastic mode on* "do _you_ work at a toyota spares department?" *sarcastic mode off* said the man from the toyota spares dept... no need for it! was satisfying to ring back with the exact part/no

    pikeys...

well I really hope for your sake they are not heading your way again, I'm only down the road in Burgess Hill and so they are in the local area so relieved they've moved on from here though

    pikeys...

Luckily they are gone. Due to them being on private land, the police actually did something and got them out! I think it helped that the co-op kept calling them out. They have also left the area all together, no one knows where they have gone though. I just feel sorry for the next town because they were causing trouble less than 12 hours after moving in!

    pikeys...

well my car is at home, I'm at work, so lets not talk about that ok lol apparently they do do work (tax free, naturally) of the landscaping/driveway variety, wouldn't trust the guarantee though, not worth the paper it's written on. Anyway, why encourage them near your house... SCUM! get a job, pay your way (and taxes) and stop sponging off the rest of us!!!
  6. 200:1 is very low, even for LCD, 700-1000 is possible, quite common even. DLP blergh lol Hey I'm not knocking a presentation projector, still very good for TV/films/games. But it won't be able to do native widescreen 16/9 or even cinemascope 2.66:1 that's all (oh and it probably won't be able to take component video (as per dvd format)) direct either other than that, any projector is better than none and for that price you can't go miles wrong

    pikeys...

yeah it's particularly the "dirty, theiving scumbags" bit I don't like they've already been into where my other half works and been abusive and stealing stuff normally such a quiet area, lets hope they move on soon
  8. that's what I figured, I felt sure there was a way to locate it but the chap just didn't give a flying fcuk
  9. RAAAAH why wasn't one available when I wanted one? ended up getting a brand new one. Would swap for second hand + cash possibly to relieve some funds if someone wanted a brand spanking new never used one...
  10. if only lol Nic, I'll keep that in mind for next time... and yes it was the same place, maybe his phone manor was less than ideal... will keep the chassis/model number in my wallet as suggested for next time

    pikeys...

We've got pikeys in the area. They were up the road near Haywards Heath but they left that particular field the other day and headed down to my town They left behind a burning bonfire, nice... So they shacked up in a field not that far from our house (yikes) but apparently it's private land so hopefully they won't be there long. but rumour has it they will settle in a field over the other side of town for a bit before moving on to do the tour of sussex and beyond. I'm shit scared the house will be broken into or the car damaged/taken so, pikeys, scum of the earth or each to their own? discuss lol...
  12. "computer says nahhh *cough* but "forum says yes" cheers for the help guys, parts ordered now and colsoop, a price for chroming a bat clamp?
  13. well I just rang back with the part/no. he kept asking where I got it from lol... anyway thanks guys I do sympathise with his position but there is no need for patronising comments
  14. thanks chaps thanks Nic for the exact part no, now I can ring back and pretend I do indeed work in a parts dept lol I was just annoyed at the unnecessary partonisation and the lack of assistance in general oh well will try again in a mo cheers for the help and remember "computer says no *cough*"
  15. contrast 200:1? surely not? is it a native widescreen? I think it's worth pointing out this is really a presentation projector for computers, not a home cinema projector (although it will work in a limited fashion as such) good price though, someone will be in for a bargain projector
  16. I've just rung my local Mr T to order a couple of battery clamps. How patronised do I feel, the convo was something like: Me: I'd like to order 2 battery clamps for an import spec supra please. Bod: What year is the car? Me: 96 Bod: I need the chassis and model numbers of the car Me: I don't have that to hand but I'm pretty sure they are all the same, for the jdm cars Bod: Do you work for Toyota spares? *in patronising voice mode* Me: *grrrr* No of course not (you nob) *feeling patronised* Bod: Well I need the numbers then Me: Can you not just put in a generic number Bod: I can't got any further on my computer system without those numbers, the system won't let me... Me = *thinking, now I see why you work in a spares dept* ok no worries, bye hang up Ok so maybe I'm being a bit mean, maybe he really does need the numbers, maybe even there are several different versions of clamp for import spec mkivs. At least some slight initiative to help me out might not have gone amiss. I recall spares depts where you can go in with nothing, not even knowing the name of the part and they will help you locate it! either way though, I didn't feel he was helpful and I just felt patronised grrrr my car is at home, so is anyone able to furnish me with a fairly typically jdm chassis/model number so I can get my parts ordered today? cheers (or should I ring that chap, Steve Manly is it? anyone got the number handy?)

    hello and welcome

    Battery size

It doesn't matter if the Ah and CCA are higher, the more the better. There are pros and cons in terms of battery design for say long term storage (the ability to hold charge a long time and/or to deep cycle) and the high current capacity (the CCA for starting the car) / Ah for continuous load. but generally get the highest you can within budget etc. You probably only worry about types if you need a battery that can withstand long term storage (= going completely flat) without getting damaged...
  19. ok lol very wise, in which case I either Will be there (tyres fitted, mot done) or Won't be there (the above not finished) got a complete set of nice new tyres on their way to me should be lovely once they're on can't wait to get the car sorted now tbh, I miss driving it
  20. ahhh right cheers, i'll try a jdm clamp too then, don't mind if it needs a touch of bending to fit. My positive terminal wouldn't go over the post without damaging the soft lead terminal post on the battery, so I thought it was best to change them. I was able to fit new terminals on the existing wire but the leads are a little tight, good idea about unhooking the loom holder
  21. ok great, stock jdm clamp or uk spec or in fact there is only one type of battery clamp? -- I had to redo my battery terminals, was a bit of a pita but it's all sorted now
  22. so, severance gets the thumbs up? I could do with finding some new films to watch, been a bit of a poor selection lately
  23. thanks chaps ok, I've pm'd colsoop. If he needs a clamp for chroming, I'll take that one off you uzthedentist can I just check, there are two different types, jdm and uk spec? I have a J-spec car but with an HCB005 uprated battery (round posts), do I still need a jdm clamp or now I need a uk spec one?
