So the MOT was a success, and it passed without a single advisory which is great news. But after the trip to the IOW it got filthy! This was due to the Tuesday the heavens opening! :( Collected my parts from the body shop while I was having the MOT done and they look great as always, very happy.

Got the car quickly washed today after work ready for my day off tomorrow where I have a few jobs planned.

So long as the weather holds tomorrows jobs are,

-Remove the turbo timer,

-Plumb the boost gauge in properly,

-Give it a proper clean

-Start making some carbon bits.

Picture before the clean! My poor car  No after pictures though as I ran out of time.

So it was a successful day first task was to remove the turbo timer, this sparked me tidying up more wiring behind the dash. Its looking allot better behind there since I bought the car, still a bit more to do.

Then I plumbed the boost gauge in properly and that is now working nicely :)

Then I took delivery of the carbon parts so started on that, its currently curing in the lounge ready for tomorrow. Hasnt gone perfect but for a first attempt its gone well....so far!

Then I set about detailing the outside, car came up lovely, still plenty to do and didnt even start on the interior. Tried out a new finishing wax which Im very impressed by and has now joined the collection in the garage

only casualty of the day was my gear surround which i now need to re-glue the ring on the back.

So today with the weather looking brilliant me and Grace decided to take the old girl into the new forest.... unfortunately the M3 traffic decided this wasn't an option and we ended up on a nice random route which turned out to be a lovely drive. Wasn't as picture friendly as the forest and as a result I only got a couple of decent ones.

So with today being my day off I decided to try start my planning for the winter, I contacted LeeP and he managed to fit me in at short notice so I could get the car looked at. Had it looked over and he is confident the smoke im getting is not turbo related and Im hoping its the valve stem seals, which is the most logical next step. I knew the car needed these doing so thats not a problem :) They compression tested it and the numbers came back nice and healthy so that is good news.

Now have a few decisions to make and some more saving to do as I would like some extra work done at the same time :)

Nice 4 hour round trip too to blast away the cobwebs :D

I'm liking that - lots and lots. I bet it looks superb on the road.

Looking good Jake. Like the surround, great work.

Cheers guys

So today has marked a big day for this car imo, the engine bay has come on leaps and bounds.

A job I have been putting off for a long time, but James (theturtleshead) said he could come over tomorrow to reset my TPS so the work had to be hit, and hit hard.

The plenum and throttle body have been replced for my smoothed OEM ones painted in 199, i also painted the runners today insitu which wasnt ideal but has done the job, I also then painted my injector rail in a red.

So happy with the outcome.

cant fault that at all! great job, it would be such a blessing if that rear plate surround fell off though never to be seen again :)

:D thanks mate, each to their own I love the surround

That looks great Jake, carbon exhaust surround is a nice touch and goes very well with the diffuser

Thanks mate should work even better once I source a carbon lip and half carbon TRD to match

Very nice mate

Are they just stock battery terminal covers painted black ?

They are 2x OEM + battery terminal covers, we just shaved the + off them both and painted them.
