Also like the idea of staying over for the night and having a drink, hope something can be sorted . What he said. It's not often you get to play in the car all day and then get lashed up in the evening unless it involves being on the continent or in a tent. We are looking at an alternative where we go to Shakespear Raceway and then go to a local hotel for a night time drinky... Branners Posted February 27, 2015 Share Posted February 27, 2015 The hotel we are looking at isnt cheap, its around £80 per room including breakfast. But it is set in amazing grounds with a pool and gym so it is nice and secure for the cars. Would people rather spend £45 on a hotel and put the rest towards beer, or stay somewhere nice for a change rather than the Ibis type places we tend to end up in (you heathens...) ripped_fear Posted February 27, 2015 Share Posted February 27, 2015 Depends what the event ends up being and where IMO. If we end up staying near a few pubs etc then I'd be happy with a cheap hotel. But if we are staying somewhere a little further out, I'd much rather a nice place with a decent bar. Much like the db hotel. Would probably make for a better evening too. I think the place is worth the money, I'm in It would be nice if we could fill all the rooms and have the place to ourselves. I was thinking along the lines that we make it into our national meet and put on a proper show of our own. Other than the Dragonball, which isn't for everyone, we don't have a yearly national meet which is just for our club. It would be nice to start a yearly national meet/awards ceremony where it's just exclusively us. The place has previously hosted other clubs meets, and they seem very accommodating to the needs of car clubs, even employing someone in the role of promoting this very thing.
