Love that colour! I have dibbs on the first ride in it at bluewater! :D

Dibbs on second ride!! :D

Yeah it's all back together now, got a slight starting problem, no ignition feed to the ecu after the fuse. Hopefully matey should be able to fix it this weekend and she'll put in an appearance at bluewater next week (finally!)

Fantastic news Bibs!!

About bloody time you put a thread up! Happy to help if I can. ;)

Looks like a great spec for another epic twin build. Looking forward to the progress. :)

Thanks Steve, I know, not enough hours in the day. Now I've started the thread it should be easier to update.

I cant remember now tbh as it was last year, may be because of the twins, will ask him again when I'm ready to get the box.

Maybe I can get a ride in kaans with his 3800

No worries mate, my car should be done soon so I can start attending some meets again.

One of the first jobs was to remove the bonnet, engine under tray and front bumper as I will be changing the fmic for Lee's SRD custom one.

Bumper, headlights and front mount intercooler removed.

With the bumper removed I set about getting the fmic, air con rad and coolant rad out of the car.

Thinking of removing the aircon completely as there is a leak in the system somewhere, will see if it can be fixed during the rebuild.

After draining all fluids, the power steering cooler, air con rad and coolant rad were removed.

Before removing the engine, I thought it would be a good time to loosen the crank pulley bolt.

Using some tools I made at work, I locked the crank against the chassis rail by using the bar attached to the crank pulley.

Using my homemade extra long 3/4" drive extension, the bolt came undone easily.

Before the engine and gearbox could be removed, everything attached had to be disconnected.

Exhaust was removed first, including the decat pipe.

Disconnected the small earthing cable from engine to bulkhead by the heater matrix pipes.

Then the heater pipes.

After removing some interior trim and lifting the carpet on the passenger side, I disconnected the engine loom from the ECU.

After an hour of verbal abuse, the engine loom finally emerged.
