In a sense I don't see the F360 as a step up. Drove one once. I prefer mine.

I'd like to have a go in the F430 though.

Main problem with the F430 is getting out, you always have to eventually.

I agree on the 360, very compotent car, but lacking a little something. And not quite as fast as I expected. Still has the magic though.

Well in my case I am a big fan of driving holidays where by a trip out and about touring parts of Europe is what I enjoy......BUT also with a number of laps around the Nurburgring on each venture across the channel.

So a car that can take in long distance travel and also perform well on track and also have the practicality to carry a couple of week's luggage is my criteria. The Supra has done this very well in the past and still does to be honest.

I'm guessing the next level up with a very optimistic approach to affordability could be a 2nd hand Ferrari 550 or Maserati as mentioned already. Also a Corvette, but how reliable and practical are these?

If trading the GT/practical side for something a bit more track focussed then a Noble M12 (or M400 if prices fall). Or even a F360, (good on track but could I live with it on a daily basis - probably no).

I'd have to have a lottery win really to get the type of cars that I am really after in terms of 'step up'.... that being Gallardo, F458, F599, etc.

I reckon a Porsche 993 Turbo. Just as good looking but also classy and understated

I consider very little else to be a step up, certainly not a TVR. (though I would like a Cerbera  )

GTRs aren't a step up, NSX are nice but again wouldn't say a step up. In the US, Supras are very highly regarded, certainly more so than over here.

exterior wise yeah I also like the 993, the interior is dated beyond belief now though, plus you can get a 996/997 turbo for the same or less ££ which atleast has some modern luxury. For 993 turbo money I'd defo still have an Ultima GTR, or a TVR Sagaris - since I've got a soft spot for an orange one :)
