  1. I cheated once or twice on my missus in the early days and perhaps didn't treat her right - I was an idiot. We split up for a while and then got back together when I couldnt handle her seeing somebody else. She then cheated on me with that somebody else and we split up last Thursday after 6 years!!! Crap excuse but I never understood how much it hurts when somebody you love cheats - now I know. I can now honestly say I'd never do it again! Just not worth it. All part of growing up and gaining wisdom I guess! Trouble is, some people never wise up. Besides, it turned out Ok in the end - I bought a Supra on Saturday to chear me up!
  2. ;Cyprus not that hot in winter even though it's meant to be a winter destination. Don't like Tunisia that much, people really aggressive when trying to sell you stuff The Canaries are always warmish but weather not guaranteed. Last Feb I went to Goa with the missus. Got a great last minute deal for only £300 each for a week. Was real unsure about going there, third world country and all that! Worried about food, water, people etc etc. Couldn't be more wrong - food was fantastic, people really friendly and 30 degress every day! And the best thing is that's it's DIRT cheap! You'll struggle to top £250 spending money for the two of you! Oh and the chemists will sell you any over the counter drugs for pennies. Viagra were about 15p each! Not that I need em! Just bought a couple hundred back and flogged em me mates!
  3. Mate, that's not some frozen over lake is it? Is that safe? Oh yeah, is Norway as expensive as some fella said on the Off Topic forum? £8 a pint?
  4. Some real good advice on this thread! I only got my Supe on Saturday and have never driven a RWD car like this before. Obviously when I got it I was all excited and couldn't help putting my foot down. I almost lost the back end a couple times over the weekend, even in straight lines! I've waited what seems like an eternity to own this car and you can rest assured I'll be driving very careful over the next few months!

    Auction Sheet

It's definitly for my car - checked VIN etc. Just can't find anything that resembles a number. There's perhaps something that looks like a 4 on the richt handside half way down but not as described by Flat4. Oh well, never mind. Don't really matter anyway!
  6. I think i have an auction sheet in with all the docs for my new Supe. In fact, I think I have two. One with 87km on and one with 112km. (maybe it went through twice and first time it didn't sell??) Anyway, where on the sheet does it say the grading?
  7. No mate, I've gotta take the plate off. The previous owner has kept it. No idea what it's supposed to read. His name was nothing like that. Gonna get me a cheapy Irish plate anyway to cover it's age. There's some for £69 that read like JJZ 7383 - think I'll get one of them. To people who don't know any different the Supra still looks a very modern car!
  8. Just been and checked, it is an RZ.
  9. Just been and picked up my new car - a '94 Jspec TT auto. Absolutely love it! It's totally standard apart from skirts, spats, splitter and wheels. Few questions though, what is the Slip Cont button? The O/D button? The Manu button? and the 2 and L on the auto box? Also, should I get much turbo lag? sometimes it feels a little sluggish at low rpm. Going BPU anyway so should it be more responsive at low rpm with that? I've got leather too so thought it was a GZ but when I rang insurance and gave reg they said it was an RZ. How can I tell which it is? Some pics below...
  10. Hey Jezz, bit gutted I missed out on this Sup. I hope the guy who bought it gets on Ok with it. I was the first to see it I believe and did want to buy it. But alas, the keys hadn't arrived from the insurers for me to see it running so I was waiting until they arrived. In the mean time somebody else saw it and bought it without seeing it running. My loss, you snooze you lose I guess. Keep us posted on any other TT's you may get in.... (In fact, don't post em on here until you've pm'd me first! )
  11. Ok - so we all knew that anyway. But now it's Official. Well kind of...... Anyone heard of AQA? Basically you can text absolutely ANY question to 63336 and they'll text you back the answer. And when I say any question I mean ANYTHING. Trivia, facts, capital cities, what to eat for dinner etc etc.... I text them today to try it out and asked them 'What is the best looking jap sports car of the 1990's?' A bit obvious but curious to see the response. 20 minutes later a got this reply: 'AQA: AQA feels that the 1995 Toyota Supra MkII was perhaps both the best looking 1990's Japanese sports car, and also up there with the best to own and drive' Well they got the wrong mark but we know which model they meant! Anyone care to ask them which is better, Manual or Auto TT? Or Jspec or UK? Should clear those debates up once and for all!
  12. I've seen normal Castrol for £5.99 and the Magnatec stuff for £12.99 at Makro by us, not everybody has a Makro close by or has a card but worth knowing I guess.

    supra prices

Not been looking at Sup's this new, a little out my price range. I'd guess between 10 - 12k depending on condition/colour/ mods etc. I saw a '96 facelift gun metal grey 6 spd a few weeks ago in the trader for 11k. It didn't sell so was reduced a whole grand two weeks later. That's not to say this one was in good nic etc...
  14. I'm sure I read somewhere that the most expensive plate ever was K1NGS which went for about £200k. The new most expensive plate ever is now MR 51NGH which went for 250k. What annoys me about that is the the DVLA held that plate back and auctioned it off for themselves. :thumbdown Seems a bit naughty to me, it should have been issued normally and some lucky sod who got it would be quids in! kinda like winning the lottery.
  15. Just the way it is I guess! Real shame though, especially as he wants to work! I used to work as a trainee at the local Jobcentre. I used to issue the Giros to people with no fixed address like Gypo's and tramps or people who prefered to collect their Giro (probably couldn't wait the extra day it took in the post!) We used to get this one guy who came every week to collect his Giro for £392. He of course was getting other benefits too like his rent and council tax paid. He got that amount because he was claiming for his wife and countless children - you get extra for each child. He was a right smarmy twat and it really grated me he was getting 8 times my £45 a week trainee wage for doing sod all. He was on more than my manager. But, as much as I despised him could you really blame him or his wife for not getting a job? If they both worked they'd have to pay their rent and tax and get nowhere near as much on minimun wage. The system sucks!
  16. Isn't the second one a fellow members? I kinda remember him being pissed off on this board for his car getting a slating on Barry Boys a few months back! I'm not a fan of the nose or vents but the wheels are an improvement.
  17. Thanks for the advice everyone, much appreciated. Gonna have a look around to see what I can find. Without thinking I booked the flights for the 8th December, not even taking into account that the hotel prices that close to Xmas would be so high. You live and learn. The best I can find so far is the Belleclaire on the Upper West Side. Coming out at £608 for the week. There is cheaper but I was hoping to be close to some of the sites on my first visit. Thanks again - Conrad
  18. Anyone on here been to New York? I'm going in December with the missus after getting a really good deal on a flight (£224 each). Without even looking into hotels I just booked the flights. Now I've been looking into hotels they seem really pricey, more than I'm used to paying in Blackpool anyway! The cheapest ones in hostel type hotels with shared bathroom are £55 per room each night and any decent one is at least £120 per night. Anyone stay there recently and can recommend a decent but inexpensive place to stay? Or can advise which hotels/areas to avoid? Any help appreciated.
  19. I'm pretty certain that if you're just claiming for some work for the car then it wont get put on the register. Only if the cost of the repair exceeds the value of the car will the car get 'written off' (put on the register). As this is not the case with your sis then it wont be on the register. She may however loose her no claims bonus and will have to declare to future insurers that she's made a claim in the past - thus making future insurance more expensive. Hope that helps.
  20. Oh no, sorry Lovatt but I just remembered you pm'd me about this - really sorry I never replied. Read your pm whilst on holiday in some internet cafe and never got round to replying! You car is absolutely stunning and I'm gutted I'm not in a position to buy it! The sale of my house fell through so I don't have the funds! You're only round the corner from me too! I really hope your car goes to a rightful home! And that you get a LOT more that's currently on Ebay for!
  21. I went to the States last June and there was an uproar at the pumps because 'gas' had been put up to as much as $1.95 a gallon! That's approx £1.10 a gallon (22p a litre?). I've just got back from the States again this year and the cheapest I saw it was $2.13 a gallon. That's almost a quarter of what we pay! I once saw the MD of BP or Shell on the news when we had that petrol crisis a few years back. Apparently the British have the cheapest petrol in Europe from the suppliers, it's just our Governments tax which makes it so expensive to the actual consumer! Doesn't make you feel any better though does it!
  22. Whichever you go for get it from the doctors, they prescribe the exact same stuff such as Clarityn but you'll get a few months supply for your £6.20 subscription fee. Gotta be better than the chemist, Clarityns something like £4 for just seven tablets from the chemist. Another alternative is an injection off the doc, once a year and you're cured. I would have this but an old work mate reckons the injection made her allergic to all fruits. She could only eat cooked fruit if she wanted to avoid her mouth swelling up. Don't know how true this is though.....
