So, do you fit?

It is, but it's something I've always wanted to experience. I used to crew for Smax Smith in the 90's running a Fuel Altered funny car (Mainline Menace III), Top Fuel funny car (Menace 4) and finally Top Fuel rail car (Astral Projection). It's just one of those 'must have' experiences for me. We're going to get a VIP package, so that's a pair of tickets, the ride and full hospitality, so there is a bit more value in it. lol, very true. Hopefully I can borrow a camera and get Lucy to film it.

My girlfriend is fantastic - she's just offered to get me a ride in the 2-seater dragster at the Main Event at Pod for my birthday this year. Been wanting a go in this thing for ages. 1/4 mile in 7-8 seconds, hell yeah! Now I'll get to find out what's kept Smax in the business for so long. It works out at about £40 a second, lol, bargain.

The heater / air con knobs might be a bit tricky, but as you say can be set and left pretty much. You should be okay with the centre console - I have a brachial plexus injury which has restricted the use of my left shoulder and I find the centre console just the right height to rest my arm on.

I helped my dad do mine last year and they didn't seem too bad to do. Took about 3 hours to replace all rear linkages on both sides. It can be a bugger if you get a particularly stubborn bolt but I don't think we struggled too much. Wheels off, discs off, shockers off then give all the bolts a good dose of penetrating fluid, have a brew then come back and hopefully everything will come off without too much of a fight. It really wasn't as daunting as it seems.

Just phoned CCI to see what they could do, but unfortunately they have a maximum mileage of 7000 per year. I do nearly double that so it was a very brief phone call. The chap was very pleasant though. [edit] LWIB gave me the same Markerstudy speech, the woman was genuinely annoyed about it and really apologetic, but again, no joy. Adrian Flux £580 with £300 excess with all mods covered - that's looking like the winner so far. Just waiting for N2I to ring me back.

Useless, mouthbreathing, mongoloid feckwits! If people had just gone about as normal, things would be fine, but no, they all start queueing in there mindless droves. I've got 1/4 tank left and a 135 mile drive home tomorrow so need to brim the tank (same as every Friday). Now I'm faced with the possibility of the 3 petrol stations I pass before the motorway being packed with morons, devoid of fuel, rationed, rediculously expensive or a combination of the above. I hope all the panic-buying retards break down.

Pretty much every day for the last 7 years. Minimum 300 miles a week. Again, I couldn't see myself in some androgenous tin box day in day out.
