  3. Well, I for one, bow down before our new leader All hail the new GTR forum
  4. I had a note though the door on Saturday saying I owe £1.65 for an underpaid letter; not knowingly expecting anything, so that might be it. Paid for it on-line so it'll be redilivered this week.
  5. I think Hate Event has pretty much covered it - top marks on posting Cancerous Womb, that would have been one of my suggestions. Instead, I'll offer up... http://youtu.be/QJoowj9peu4 Enjoy \,,/ >.
  6. Sick to death of fuelling issues with my TDM, so I will be collecting a 2008 Aprilia SMV750 Dorsoduro on Friday http://www.speedycom.co.uk/shop/images/T/aprilia_smv750dorsoduro_8149.jpg 5k miles on the clock, absolutely mint with Arrow titanium exhausts plus stock pipes as well, gel race seat, rack and a new set of tyres & updated engine map for £3750 plus the TDM (£1k) Chuffed, I'll be a hooligan again

    Expensive Toy

Would that be Dark Knight Racer?
  8. Senior CAD Monkey for a Civil/Structural company in the arse end of Cumbria. Decent money, but it means I spend Monday to Thursday sat in a B&B with ropey internet access. Makes the weekends a bit hectic sometimes trying to fit everything in.

    Expensive Toy

I think I'm going to start harvesting kidneys as there is no other way I can get £1,450,000. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Batman-Tumbler-/230784628878?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item35bbd5f88e#ht_2458wt_922
  10. http://www.newspress.co.uk/images/companylogos/honda120.jpg Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has announced the successful development of the world's first*1 technology to detect the potential for traffic congestion and determine whether the driving pattern of the vehicle is likely to create traffic jams. Honda developed this technology while recognising that the acceleration and deceleration behaviour of one vehicle influences the traffic pattern of trailing vehicles and can trigger congestion. In conjunction with the Research Centre for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Tokyo, Honda conducted experimental testing of a system utilising the technology to detect the potential for traffic congestion. The test results demonstrated that the system helped increase the average speed by approximately 23 per cent and improved trailing vehicles fuel efficiency by approximately 8 per cent. With the goal to bring this technology to market, Honda will begin the first public-road testing of the technology in Italy and Indonesia in May and July of this year, respectively, to verify the effectiveness of the technology in minimising vehicle congestion. Rather than providing information to help the driver avoid existing congestion based on current traffic information, the system monitors the acceleration and deceleration patterns of the vehicle to determine whether the driver's driving pattern is likely to create traffic congestion. Based on this determination, the system provides the driver with appropriate information, including a colour-coded display through the on-board terminal, to encourage smooth driving which will help alleviate the intensity of acceleration and deceleration by trailing vehicles, thereby helping to prevent or minimise the occurrence of vehicle congestion. The positive effect on minimising congestion and fuel efficiency improvement can be further increased*4 by connecting the on-board terminals to cloud*2 servers to make the driver aware of and in sync with the driving patterns of vehicles ahead by activating the ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control)*3 system at the right time to maintain a constant distance between vehicles at the most appropriate interval. Traffic congestion causes not only a delay in arrival time but also an increase in CO2 emissions and a higher potential for rear-end collisions. Striving to realise "the joy and freedom of mobility" and "a sustainable society where people can enjoy life," as stated in the Honda Environmental Vision, Honda will work toward the establishment of a congestion-free mobility society all around the world. Interesting but I prefer Honda's other way to beat traffic jams - on the back wheel up to the front of the queue (but I'm a hooligan) rather than all this elecrical nonsense, why not just teach people to drive properly

    Am I mental?

Sounds reasonable to me. Mine has been a daily driver for 8 years and has been used to ferry all sorts of crap, and quite regularly ends up with 1 or 2 people in the back. Always got mad looks when pulling up to a venue and unloading a set of e-drums, holdall, cymbal bag, stands & wedge monitor from the back.
  12. Sold, I'll drop it off on Friday evening
  13. Well, having had my N/A as a daily driver for the last 8 years (doing at least 300 miles a week), it's finally geting to the point where it is developing more niggles than I can be bothered to fix. After having some welding done on the boot pan, it's got a ticket for the next 12 months, which I will be using to find something to use as a motorway barge for the next 10 years or so. I have to say I've been spoiled by the Supra, it has been a fantastic car and I'm having a hard time finding something that I would be as happy to live with that isn't stupid money (read: over 15k). So, if anyone is looking for something to thrash about in, offers are welcome. Issues: Dead wiring to oil pressure sensor Sticky oil level sensor Dead air con Dented o/s rear wing spot of rust on roof by o/s B-pillar Electrics not working on drivers seat recline. Severely corroded spring adjusters on all shocks (Tein S/S) Good things: Brand new calipers all round (been on 12 months) Brand new rear wishbones (12 months old) glass headlights Full stainless exhaust & manifold (Whifbitz) Engine still runs sweet, no oil loss & good power (for an n/a)
  14. Sage advice as ever, but needs must when the devil farts on your pancakes and all that.
  15. If not, I think I've just squeezed a canary into my gin. That's my coat, isn't it? I'll be going, then.
  16. No matter how tricky it is, I'd much rather be in a plane than a heli in winds. I was going for my ppl years ago (until shit happened and I ran out of money) and I will never forget being sat in the cockpit while it was being fuelled and a heli took off about 50 yards in front of me, got maybe 15 foot up, inverted and smacked back onto the deck upside down. Nobody hurt, but it was an eye opener for sure. Used to really enjoy the challenge of slewing it down to land. Good luck with it all, dude.

    Insurance query

^- that. There are still some companies who offer third party insurance on other cars, but you'd have to check through the small print on your lads policy. Another option would be to see if you could add him as a named driver on your policy just for that period.
  18. Nice collection, he must be doing allright.
  19. lol, quite a good quality when it comes to testing well-used Supras Not seen the R8.
  20. Cool. Yeah, I've used them for the last couple of years, always good to deal with.
  21. Nothing drastic, failed MOT for needing a bit of welding on the boot pan, waiting for the phone call to say it's ready.
  22. From the custom colour thread recently... House of Kolor Brandywine Red candy over a metallic gold base (can't remember code, but it was a Fiat colour IIRC) Just HoK Brandywine Red candy over carbon fibre (bonnet boot & doors)
  23. My favourite tee shirt for some reason, Lucy won't let me wear it when we're out in public
