Well, Lucy'll be pleased - she thinks I'm stuck in 1986 (Musically, anyway) We have WiFi, but it does struggle streaming video between 2 PC's, especially HD stuff, takes a while to buffer, not good for enjoying films in peace. I've got a perfectly functional, albeit old, 38" HD tv, don't see the need to spend a few hundred quid on a new one just to do what a £30 gadget will do. I wanted a way to watch video already stored on a HD. My solution - £30. Your solution - >£100 on a PS3/new tv I fear I must have some Yorkshire blood in me [edit - sorry, Thorin] , as I won't spend money on shiny new things if I don't have to. Bah humbug.

Aye, but a PS3 is more than £30, and I don't have the time to play on a console, I've got my laptop for gaming. Also, what codecs can the PS3 play? I tried to set-up my old flatmate's Xbox media centre and it pretty much failed to play anything. Apart from the fact that I am backing up my dvd collection, there's no copying involved, I already have a 2TB external drive half full of videos so it's just plug & play, no messing about setting up WiFi and hoping for good transfer rates.

I've been after some form of media streamer/player so I can play all the videos/tv shows I've got stored on my pc. Looked at various network boxes, Popcorn Hour, WDTV, etc. but seeing so many conflicting reviews on them all was making it more confusing. Finally settled on a Sumvision Cyclone Micro 2+ on the recommendation of a mate and it's brilliant (and cheap). http://www.sum-vision.co.uk/productinfo/micro2/cyclonemicro2.asp The unit is only about 3" square, maybe 1/2" deep and plugs into the tv via either HDMI or Component lead. It has one SD card slot & one USB port and seems to cope with pretty much any video format I can throw at it. The remote is rediculously cheap & tacky feeling, but works fine. The real bonus is, due to it's size, it can be taken anywhere, so I can watch all my crap while I'm away without tieing up my laptop. Definately £30 well spent.

Yep - it's an N/A (before everyone else get's there) Aye, daily driver, 300-odd miles a week, mostly motorway, but not driven too gently on the A roads and a set'll pretty much last me 10-12 months.

I've been running T1Rs on my N/A daily driver for years and no issues at all, decent grip on all weathers considering and I'm managing about 12-15,000 out of a set. Can't say I've particularly noticed much noise.

Have a look through the FAQ's here, there is a wealth of good information to be had. The most important being, do not buy a non-turbo model if you want to play with more horses in the future. If your next thread is "I've bought an N/A, how can I get 3000bhp out of it", things might not go well On the plus side, there are more than enough people willing to take the piss help, and membership is a tenner well spent. Lol, yeah, gotta keep moving, I'm like a shark, me. Still got the trike, but it's in bits in my dad's garage as neither of us has the time to work on it anymore. I've given up setting completion dates for it now, it'll run when it runs On the plus side, I've got 2 bikes now, a ratty KLE 500 (with a stuck valve that's currently being looked at) and a TDM 850 that I'm using up here during week. The landlord of the b&b is a biker, he got me a key cut for his garage so I use the Supra to do the 2.5 hour drive up on Monday mornings, park up and use the bike for the short run to work, much more fun.

Game of Thrones is good if you fancy some medieval style political intrigue with the promise of dragons to come. Lots of bloody sword fighting and knobbing in it, too. A lot of effort has gone into the look of the show and the books it is based on are brilliant. Just don't get too attached to any of the characters. Sons of Anarchy has been good, too. I found series 3 a bit lacking, but series 4 led to a few late nights as I couldn't stop watching. Some great cliff-hangers.

Definately too long between updates, lol. I've been mega busy in a new job and lacking regular internets. A quick recommendation for now: Bludvera - a Thrash outfit from the Wirral, only young lads, but proper old-school Thrash a la Kreator, Destruction, etc. They should have a CD out soon, well worth checking out their demo tracks on youtube. Got a couple of good gigs lined up so far this year - Suffocation, Cattle Decapitation, Cerebral Bore & Blood Red Throne @ the Lomax, Liverpool on March 15th. Hammerfest, Prestatyn, March 16-18th with a good dose of old school Thrash with Anthrax, Lawnmower Deth, Holosade, Virus, Evile, Redmist Destruction & Elimination. Plus Cerebral Bore (again) and Prostitute Disfigurement, Desecration, Cancerous Womb & Basement Torture Killings at the Lomax on May 4th (been trying to get Desecration to play a Death Metal version of the Imperial March seeing as it's Star Wars day, but to no avail, yet)

I'm still alive. Changed jobs (still trapped in Innsmouth Whitehaven though) and have very little internet access during the week. Nice to see things havent changed (first thread I saw was a "How do I get 80 million bhp out of my N/A?" thread).
