I don't think they are 'trying it on' at all. £4,700 is probably above the book value for the car (glass's guide for ex.). Like others have said you just need to show them that the actual market value is considerably higher.

God damn it, that's POOR fortune. Post up some pictures and if you can post up the reg-number in BIG letters so it gets remembered. That's such bad luck with you being uninsured.

The chap at the garage I use raised the car off it's wheels and used a crowbar as a lever underneath the wheel. The wheel went up and down nearly 2cm on the balljoint.

The only problem I can see is that you are probably going to have to pay ~£120 for a proper wheel-alignment job after making a mess of the camber, so it would be a pain to have to pay that again. If I get any spare cash I'll be doing my other side ASAP so I have a nice posh new front-lower suspension, then get it aligned.

We're both on 19s Chris I don't know about Rob's, but my Wheel Manias weigh a feckin' tonne.

but moving the selector down to 2 or turning overdrive off does this. The MANU button just makes the gearbox stay in whatever you have selected. The 1-2-D is a limiter - it won't go to a higher gear, but can/will kick-down. Manu makes it stay in whatever is selected, except that from a standstill the car will not set off in 3rd, it'll use 2nd then change up to third when revs allow.

I couldn't finish the lamb, and it didn't work too well either. For future reference: the juice from the lamb is like water so it becomes like boiling a broth in the pan. Nothing cooked how it should and the steak was really tough. Plus I'm really full up!

Oh I see.. so I am actually all these people (carl0s, Bubbly Bozo, Bomex989, supralookin'), and I am making it look like I have a stalker, because I suffer from 'psychotic dependancy syndrome', and this has to be so because, how else would I know which usernames are her.. Right-o, I understand now See what happens is, when I go there, I come to the forum and I see that it's logged in as Bomex989, and I say 'wtf is all that about?'. Now the first one I obviously knew who it was, PM's etc. (blimey, imagine that - PM'ing myself. ) So that accounts for two names (one discovered 'by accident', the other already known), then we have the third, of which I am told about in person. Do you get it now?
