    Auto box issue

No.1 speed sensor. Pink wire. Pin 2 on the first connector block on the ecu
  2. What bushes etc did you go for 2soops?
  3. What bushes did you go for on the subframe mountings both back and front of the rear subframe?
  4. Does this mean you have arms for me??
  5. Lightened flywheels always sound like a bag of spanners. Just the way they are but usually prompts comments of "is there something wrong with your car?"
  6. Can Confirm this because I shipped it. Fits on a half size pallet. Was £80 all in with pallet2ship
  7. A search suggests its something to do with a fault in the Odo itself in the "buffer" circuit i.e dry solder joins etc. Yea I Think I am just going to solid bush the 4 corners of the subframe and the diff, as poly mounts are not available consistently for all of the subframe or all of the diff
  8. Just to update people on this for future ref, I turned the car over to the guys at SSI as I was out of time to look at it again myself. Turned out it was the Trac ECU itself, which was replaced - I personally feel I would have not figured this out except as a last resort so +1 for Colin at SSI. I am also old the "buffer mod" was carried out but I have no idea what this is?
  9. Any suggestions? Chris Wilson looking in your direction
  10. Thought id update you all on the code 89 issue with his car. Ive completely removed the unbranded speedo converter/delimiter and returned all the wiring to standard. Checked the sub throttle position sensor and reset it. Found a missing bulb in the clocks for the green slip cont light, replaced it. He is mossing the main beam bulb but cant see that being it. The pin 2 vehicle speed sensor seems loose in the ecu and at some point someone has replaced the speed sognal wire to the odo with another one and the pin clip seems loose in it but i cant find anything else wrong with it. The bulb in the slip cont button doesn't work but i dont think its connected. Does anyone have any ideas? I dont really have much more time to look at it for him
  11. Just re-set the sub throttle position sensor there (if it was the right one), Reset the ECU and started the car, thought i had nearly got it but the same problem still persists.
  12. Hey Guys, Trying to help out a new member "Ashloys" who bought a Mkiv 93" RZ TT Auto recently. The car was bought with the flashing O/D Off & Slip Cont Lights flashing and when the fault code was read it was 89, which is an Autobox Fault. I have removed and reinstalled the unbranded speedo converter, although is colour coded the same as a thor one, made no difference, TRAC Fuse is fine, Wiggled the main ecu loom, car actually cut out but didnt solve the issue or make any difference to it, Tried the odo plug mod joining the pink wire to the blue/red wire, made no difference. Anyone any ideas or managed to solve this problem? Thanks in advance Niall
  13. Well considering the trac control is attached to the inlet and the engine loom and to the trac fuse in the engine bay, if you dont have the engine in and the loom connected, the button isnt going to do much.....
  14. Its a circuit breaker essentially. The actual circuit will be completed if the chassis leg contacts the chassis through way of a collision and will complete the circuit blow the sensor and set off the bags. Though at 20 odd years old your airbag circuit probably doesnt work anymore. I think they "typically" have a lofespan of 10 years at which you are "supposed" to get them checked and replaced if necessary. Not true of all cars im sure but thats the procedure
  15. Strip the intake stuff off and stick your finger and twirl the blades of no.1 Dunno if no.2 is accessable though!!
  16. Yep thats it and usually no they show both RHD and LHD
  17. They are saying it needs a new ecu because its orange?.....
  18. Dynojet dynos also tell very tall tales.....
  19. Well hopefully it'll all go off without a hitch! Was chatting to someone i know over here and teckon a scottish/ni meet could be a cool idea. Like a wknd or something like that!
  20. Glad to hear its back up and running Tony!
  21. My 264s needed 13 degrees on the exhaust cam :o
  22. Just thought id add to this, as mine is a UK Auto, there is some debate about their ability to take more abuse than the jspec box. Part numbers suggest it is a completely different box so that could be the reason, although i do not know for certain
