  1. I think at the end of the day the only certain thing is poor Brazil shouldnt have to cover the repair work. He needs someone to step up and take the blame whether its the builder or the installer
  2. Thrust washers dont just fall out like. Sure i thought at the start of the thread it was to do with the cam covers being polished incorrectly.... #clutchingatstraws
  3. Yea, mine seems to be dead on so far
  4. I love my 6 inch rear plate!lol fills the recess perfectly. Letters are 65mm metric, nice enough to look a bit sharper but still likely to pass MOT
  5. Thanks for the kind words guys! Very happy indeed. Some very black microfibres into the machine tonight!!lol
  6. Hey guys just thought id share with you all the results of the past few weekend's work to get my car sitting the way i want it. Finally starting to be the car i have in my head as an end goal!
  7. Id expect the engine builder to sort this tbh. Absolutely no way this should have happened after a few thousand miles, clutch in on starting or not.......
  8. Lol seems to have gone down better than my original stance though
  9. Yea i agreee about the intercooler but my point was about the fibreglass bumper. Or what you could do is bill the bitch for a new bumper and fix your old one!! Quids in
  10. Ive seen insurance companies do some wriggling to get out of paying a claim. Im with flux also, they are usually pretty good to deal with!
  11. Its def not a 50/50 in my eyes, however, from experience an insurance company may try and argue that you didnt leave adequate distance at the traffic lights and she would have had room to perform her maneuver if you had of. If they do take that stance theres not really much you can do and you'll get what they give you which is why i was saying to limit your loss where possible. Also there may be an issue if your own insurance company is not aware of the fibreglass panels and fmic and other mods ( i dont know if they are or not im just saying)
  12. Its a fibreglass bumper though and the pictures are in the thread and its really not that bad. Tbh if your bodyshop cant repair that id be taking it somewhere else..... if the intercooler was brand spankers then thats fair enough but its not like the insurance is going to pay out tomorrow or next week even if they do agree to your quote. Id be trying to limit my costs for the meantime and making the most of what you can
  13. I dont think you need a new bumper though, why would the body shop not just glass it back together. Its not even that bad and if your intercooler is not punctured and only has a few bent fins i think you are taking the piss a bit tbh. I do agree its entirely her fault but by wanting a brand new bumper and intercooler you are making your situation worse
  14. The vsv has an 11psi minimum to open otherwise it won't matter what revs you are at if the first turbo isnt makong the boost, say if you are feeding the throttle on lightly or slowly it wont make enough boost to open the vsv
  15. You know you can u7st run that hose to the pressure sourde on the inlet manifold. It doesnt have to run all the way across the engine like that!

    Respray or not?

Its a daft question and hes interfering in someone elses life. Thats what annoys me
  17. np89

    Respray or not?

Even if he is saying that he obviously doesnt understand that to do a bonnet and a roof you have to blow into the wings and the quarters and probably the boot lid and depending on the colour match you may or may not have to do the bumpers at which point you're into a full respray anyway which his sprayer probably explained to him but he sounds like he knows better anyway

    Respray or not?

I dont think hes saying it's 1400quid for the roof and bonnet just that, thats all that he thinks is wrong with it. He however doesnt know anything about painting because you cant just independently respray a bonnet and a roof so at 1400quid you may as well do the whole thing

    Respray or not?

1400 is cheap for a respray and its a 20 year old car that the laquer has faded on. Its not categorised or crashed or dishonest. Obviously a respray (at very good value may i add) will increase the selling price of the car. If i was buying a car that needed a full respray id be bargaining down by the price of the respray. So yes in answer to your obvious question, yes a 1400quid respray will be worth it

    Respray or not?

    Is this a serious post?....
