I just bought a Roland TB-3 and lost an awful lot of time and late nights fiddling with it!
I used to be big into music production on my Amiga as a kid. I'd buy computer music for the CDs and collect instrument samples and make my own mods - I recently rediscovered them and was surprised just how many disks full I'd done!
After that had a PC with an AWE32, Yamaha DB50XG MIDI daughterboard and 8mb of sample ram which at the time was the same as the system ram!
That was fun linked to a midi controller with Cakewalk.
Spent a small amount of time with Logic and Ableton Live, bought a nice 48key controller, attended an evening course at what was MIDI school - https://www.schoolofelectronicmusic.com
Since then I've dabbled with Korg tools on the iPad and various other drum machines/synths.
I use Sennheiser HD600's connected to a USB headphone 48/96 valve amp to keep the noise down.
I spent a bit of time with Graham Massey the last couple of years and he's inspired me to start dabbling again, hence the TB-3 and literally this week collecting a few soft synths and setting up my midi controller again.
I'd like some other Aira kit, the TR-8 and mixing desk would go nicely. Just need to see how much time I'll get to play....not enough!!
