    NA-T Guys

FOSTA get your video up... watched it this morning eating my porridge, it's good!

    Club NA-T closed!

A real shame to be honest. The forum itself was pretty dead, but the amount of knowledge on there technically relating to GE engines was incredible. It more of a storage forum than a community.
  3. I'll update my thread with all the photos I've taken mate for sure. may start adding them if i get bored
  4. Waiting for parts mate. Waiting for exhaust to arrive so I can order downpipe and midpipe and any other bits I may need. Pretty sure that's it but want to be sure so need to have a glance when it arrives. Agreed new colour for wheel dish on weekend, so waiting for my paint guy to get the wheels done. Haven't heard from him for a bit, I expect I'll just get a call one day saying they are done! Then front and rear bumper to be sprayed, then kinda back on the road! All takes time and shed loads of cash. Bought a cage, 2 HID kits, facelift rears and loads of other new bits that Im looking forward to getting in, like new seats Just doing my head in with a new exhaust on order I just want to hear it growl!! So where you coming to mainland?
  5. Your get there in the end mate. Just takes time that's all. I've not even driven mine for nearly 2 months! Wish I'd stayed NA and gone chrome lol your's looks mint and at least it's moving lol
  6. Sorry mate mis-read. Im tired mate, yea mild steel rusts. Even if you coat it, you will get a layer of oxygen stuck between whatever you coat it with and the metal. Shame you can't just laquer it and then it's protected. How much to chrome plate them? Maybe silver plate them, then laquer them? Might be able to sort something out for you.
  7. I thought they started to rust at some point?
  8. I wonder how come the rad clamps come up shiney like stainless, then rust like buggery? Shame you can't send me one, I could check the surface of the material and see what it is. If it was stainless, the material creates a passive layer and prevents the iron in the metal from reacting with air, but mild steel doesnt usually have such a shine to it.
  9. Yes mate silver chroming is expensive. But looks AMAZING. Though can leave water marks. For something not in an engine bay, silver looks the part. Anything else, chrome definitely a winner
  10. craig built 385bhp for 2.5k including car purchase. It cost's a 5th of the overall NA-T process to just go BPU. Depends what engine code and part's list you want to flash at your crew down the local car park Just buy a TT and be done with it. Swaping and going turbo is a right ball ache though I enjoy it. Taking you ages to start this mate
  11. Thanks for advice mate. I think I'll grab myself one when pay day arrives
  12. Just wondering if people use these, and what/if any advantage to having one is. Obviously with tuning it's an advantage when used with a decent wideband AFR but I'm not overly clued up on the use of EGT sensors so thought I'd see how other people use them.
  13. Also found this for OEM cam duration spec: 2JZ-GE (without VVT-i) Displacement: 2997cc Intake camshaft duration: 233 Exhaust camshaft duration: 236 Valve overlap: 6 degrees Intake valve lift: 8.26 mm Exhaust valve lift: 8.41 mm Intake valve diameter: 33.5 mm Exhaust valve diameter: 29.0 mm Intake valve overall length: 98.55 mm Exhaust valve overall length: 98.55 mm Valve stem diameter: 6 mm Valve spring Free length: Installed height: Valve lifter bucket Diameter: 30.96 mm - 30.98 mm Bore diameter: 30.99 mm - 31.02 mm While the 2JZGE has a 45 degree included valve angle versus the 22.5 degrees of the 3VZ/1MZ, it does not considerably outperform the 3VZ/1MZ even with slightly hotter cams and increased valve lift. In fact, if the engines were equal in camshaft duration, valve lift, and valve diameter, there's a good chance that either "economy" motor would outperform the "performance" oriented motor, if only slightly. 15. Had a bit of bad luck getting custom stuff done lately but taking the buttons to work tomorrow to measure up for my custom jigs as my custom stainless guy is back supplying my with bits. Bit of work to make them all fit the same but shouldn't be much of a job just time and effort. Depending how easy the first set is will depend how many more il do. Still got a pillar to finish and a fuse lid.
  16. Not laid out excatly as the dash panel is positioned, but near enough. Nee to make some jigs up now to fit them.
  17. TTC been doing this for years. They can do up to 316 duration cams. Quoted me $800 for a set previously (any duration/lift). I'll put my name down, just to get interest, price depending obviously. 1. FOSTA 2. Noz
  18. I hope it sound's just as nice on mine with a 4" downpipe Did you see the exhaust comparison on a 3" vs 3.5"? There was a comparison with a 3.5" system with a 3" downpipe not a huge amount of difference to the 3" full setup, but the change with a full 3.5" system when the downpipe was swapped was epic. Consider a 4" downpipe, the bottle neck at the downpipe will be severe enough to reduce the effiency of having a large exhaust system for sure mate!
  19. I was only curious. Not going to buter me up that easily!
  20. I wonder if you could get the rad brackets plated. I do silver plating where I work, I reckon that would stop them rusting, you must be able to get a similar process. can mitchell not get them chromed for you? not 100% sure what the material used for the rad brackets is. mild steel wouldnt polish up that well. it must be a low grade stainless steel or be some kind of mild steel with more nickel in it and less chromium.
  21. What you doing with the small vent?
  22. Not worth the hassle. Raise the car up. If you have to. Im changing my exhaust and I have bumps as well (like you know mate when you crashed into it when you came to visit) but I'll sort the issue if there is one rather than pay ££££££££££ to keep it 10-30mm lower. You won't want 650bhp on a car that's too low anyway. Handling will be aweful if it's too low, more power will make it harder and less enjoyable.
  23. Hi guys, mates wife just asked me for some advice on a birthday present. He is into most performance cars, and she wasn't sure what to get him. Maybe tickets to goodwood she suggested. I was sure there must be some decent ar experiences. Need to be something a bit quicker than your usual outing. Maybe a go in an Atom somewhere? No idea, thought I'd ask you guys! Budget would b a few hundred quid I spose. If it's a good idea, be worth some extra cash I spose. Based in the southwest, so no ideas in crazy locations like Scotland please Thanks guys.
