  1. if your using non interference cams, and using a thicker headgasket, isn't that an added distance from the pistons?
  2. Any turbo that can supply enough air can supply 600bhp. its just how the power is delivered mate. You want to max out your turbo for best results for any given power, but obviously you need room for more power. In an idle world each turbo would run 90% for every setup so you can fast hard spool and dont spool a turbo that feeds the wastegate with pressure. I would try it on your current turbo, and see how far you can get. Higher the compression the less boost your need. Dont forget that it's not boost that denotes your power, its air volume which is turbo capacity and pressure of that volume area.

  6. Hodge, I know a guy who supplies vband clamps and hosing as a business, he quoted me on my vband clamps so I've ask him to see if he can get one.

  8. More info needed. Has everything been connected again properly, have you maybe disturbed some of the ignition?
  9. Whifbitz do an awesome NA system and the best price for the setup as well. I think a few people have had systems from eBay with success as well.
  10. It was indeed mate. I was going green. But now Im going a completely different colour. The green was nice, the marble affect was coming on nicely, there's just too many car's with funky green's on these days so Im going custom. The bay is a mess at the moment, ive got rid of 99% of blue silicone hoses and gone for black. Engine bay is last thing to tidy up at the moment mate, was it running and looking sweet before I tinker with bits. I think black would look best, as an off shade of silver wouldn;'t look right as you'd struggle to colour match with other components. Black for thewin, will match rest of your intake setup forsure.

Im considering painting my inlet manifold once mines back on the road, ive some funky new colour schemes im working on and think it would look nice. reckon they would paint nicely, as can't annodise them. being a pourous surface may take a bit of rubbing down, think you should do yours black mate.

    Im most likely going to go with AEM, i spose im limiting myself on power with a higher compression at that point.

    I was aiming for 9.5:1. I only mentioned the 11:1 as it had me thinking. So, how can a better ECU run higher power with the same compression, my thinking of det is caused by the heat generated, how can a better ECU control the volume being sent into the chamber and reduce chances of det?
  16. Anyone run higher compression? Seen some 11:1 pistons for the NA, just wondered the limitations of higher GTE compressions and how you would know when you lower it or be able to raise it. Just researching my limitations for stock 10.1
