  1. Can highly recommend these mate: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vibe-LiteAir-C8-8-Active-Car-Subwoofer-Built-Amp-/260674095191?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3cb1630857 - Got one in mine from a local car uudio dealer, sounds mint and takes up no room at all!!
  2. I've had 2 Series 2's, dead easy to work on, and a grand for an S1 is a steal, even if it does need work!! Get it bought, they're a hoot to drive!!
  3. Think I've discovered the cause, thankfully!!! There is a white multiplug connector just behind where the round data link connector is inside the car on the drivers side. Seemed to have come loose, clipped back in and all seems fine, for now..... Wouldn't start before, like no power to the starter motor, no dimming of lights or clicking, but a few of the usual dash lights weren't on, Check engine light and all the TRAC lights, wiggled said plug and they all came back on! Hopefully it'll get me home tonight!!!
  4. I've had a good search, and think it may be a connection issue but i'm not sure where to start. This fault couples with an intermittant ABS fault that started this week as well . Driving to work this morning, the heater blower and all the LEDS on the heather panel just went off, along with the stereo, then after 30 seconds, switched back on. This happedned twice. Went home, switched the car off, checked fuses etc, and battery connections, all fine. Also reset the ECU, just in case... Drove to work, same again, all the heater LEDS intermittantly switching on and off. I turned the stereo off to take that out of the equation, still the same problem. I also noticed the electric mirrors not working when the heather controls go off. Everything else still works, lights, windows etc. Can anyone help!?
  5. Wierd, the DPF code must be to do with something else then, it was a pressure related code. Car and an half though!
  6. Just had a 2005 535d in with this exact problem believe it or not!! Pipes run above where the DPF / manifold etc is so they get really hot and brittle, found a small black vac hose actually split in 2 on this one!! Interestingly Jonny, did yours flag a DPF fault P14A7 because of it at all? Did the throttle reset on this one too, accelerator pedal to the floor and then switch the ignition on and leave the peadl on the floor for 30-40 seconds, worked a treat!
  7. Dude, you need to sack your painter! The door is a different colour to the rest of the car!! - Gonna be interesting this one!
  8. The vac pipes under the engine cover are prone to going on these, as are the plastic T-Pieces that join them together. The vac pipes run along the top of the engine, but you need to take the plastic cover off first.
  9. Thread resurrection, I've had a search but I may have missed something! Mine has started doing this this morning on the way to work. Its a facelift car with the snow mode on traction control. When the TCS light does start flashing, the car is acting like the wheels are actually slipping and there is no power there, it then eventually flicks on to the snow mode and drives normally. The ABS light and red triangle are only coming on for about 5 minutes then they go off. I'll try and check the codes later, but was just wondering if anyone else has encountered the same issue. I presume that temporarily, driving with traction off would stop the intermittant loss of power before snow mode kicks in? Cheers! Dan (Sorry if this is confusing!)
  10. Always remember going to the pub one Sunday evening with my Ex Mrs in her Sierra Cosworth. Parked on the local Tesco car park over the road from the pub. There was a gang of kids pushing each other round in trollies over the other side of the car park. I convinced her not to worry, they were miles away and would get nowhere near her car. Obviously an hour or so later when we departed the pub, the trollies were surrounding her car. Fuming was not the word!! I agree with the parking over 2 spaces bit, I used to think it was cheeky, but then I'd rather not get the Supra scratched or dented, not now I've just had it resprayed anyway!!
  11. To carry on driving as usual! If we do get snow, I'll use the Mrs's Audi. Just had mine Winter Detailed, so it should be ok for the coming months!
  12. Welcome! Liking the car!
  13. I think you have to have the app on your phone itself, not sure about anything else though. Hope he finds it!
  14. My old 53 Plate 350Z import had factory Xenons, no headlight washers and no self leveller. I'm also pretty sure my mums TT doesn't have automatic levelling lights although it does have washers, that's an X Plate.
  15. What brand are the tyres? I had a similar incident a few years ago in my 350Z, new wheels but with budget "Kenda Square death" tyres.... Sorry to see the car is damaged, but as others have said, it could have been worse. Hope you get it sorted!
  16. Company I deal with at work is just in the process of building a 2jz-gte landcruiser with a 4x4 conversion on a Supra autobox, running big twin hybrids of some sort. Will see if I can get pics!
  17. The Thor one is supposed to be good, Thor themselves recommended the Greddy one to me when I enquired with them, they don't do their own anymore I dont think?
  18. Mine are the same as yours Dunk, I like the burnt orange colour that Nissan use on the 350Z Brembos too...
  19. Erm.... No, not really. It's rarely on fire where I live anyway.....
  20. Has anone in Lancashire had any dealings with these guys? http://www.grinspeed.co.uk They're literally round the corner from me, I'm going to pop in and see him over the weekend. Seems to be a Jap Specialist and has worked for TDI North...
  21. I agree! its ridiculous! I paid £650 this year with Admiral, with the Mrs on the policy, 32 years old, 12 years NCB, garaged and alarmed, in a reasonably good postcode area!
  22. I would agree with your price point of at least £150, or as Rog says, cleaned up nearer £200! GLWTS!
  23. I've just seen on thw Whifbitz site.... Sorry!!
