  1. Now definitely in for this Likely to be bringing my ladyfriend, unless that's an issue?
  2. If we're still talking about the 24th, I can't make it, I'm in Applecross that weekend I'm afraid.
  3. Another fan of Camskills here, http://www.tyretraders.com is worth a look, although their range can be limited.
  4. Next on my list of jobs to do on my Supra, anyone have the part nos?
  5. Interesting cars are more important to folks up my way mainly because there are less other things to distract you from spending money on your car! Property prices are usually lower, except for around Edinburgh, and well paid jobs give folks a useful way of showing off their creativity. Having said that, most modified cars up my way tend to be the usual WRX/Evo; 'fast' Vauxhalls and the usual VAG crap. A retired doctor locally has a nice collection of Aston Martins and Jags, I was chuffed when he saw my Supra and said 'Nice car!"
  6. I've found that my Supra does get a lot of attention from the ladies, but the ladies are all of a certain age! Not that it's a problem for me
  7. I was surprised to find that only the US airlines use a 'one in and one out' procedure that puts a senior member of the cabin crew in the cockpit when a pilot steps out. Not foolproof though, I guess cabin crew can engineer a mass murder/suicide by plane too :-(

Given that a generation is generally defined as a period of 25 years, let's have a look at which party has been in power, and for how long, since 1945 (our grandparent's generation). 1945 - 1951 Labour - 5 years 1964 - 1970 Labour - 5 years 1974 - 1979 Labour - 5 years 1997 - 2010 Labour - 13 years Total years in Government 28 years out of the last 70! or 40% of the time. I suggest that the 'parasites' have been nurtured under both the Tories and Labour governments, showing just how useless and out of touch they have become to the electorate. I'm not suggesting a vote for UKip as a solution to the problem of inept government in westminster though!
  10. I'll only be able to meet up at a suitable point on the Friday at Loch Lomond, so no overnight accommodation or trip to the Scottish Car Show for me, I'm afraid.
  11. http://www.tyretraders.com are always worth a look, used them a few times now, can recommend them as a good site to compare prices with camskills and mytyres.
  12. From the AA's website: "Winter tyres give significantly improved handling and reduce stopping distances when the weather is cold (below 7C) and wet as well as when roads are covered in snow and ice." I don't put them on the Supra, but have them on my other two cars, one of which is fwd and the other, rear engine rwd. When the ambient temperature is above 10C, they will feel a bit skittish, but I still put them on between November and mid March as the road surface temperatures are much lower than the ambient temperature, especially first thing in the morning. On damp or wet roads when the temperature is
  13. I rarely take note of the mpg of the Supra, I know it guzzles fuel, in the recent Scottish owners trip up to Applecross and Skye, my TT auto got 18 mpg, given the speeds and the stop start nature of the single track roads up there, I was fairly happy with that!
  14. I bought my clear side repeaters for a Corolla E120, they are a perfect fit on my '93 JDM Supra.

I completly agree with your choices, but I'll add Duvel to that list, a Belgian golden or pale ale beer that is fantastic.
  16. I'll stick my name down, I'm not sure I'll be there till the bitter end in Edinburgh, but I'm up for the west coast part at any rate!
  17. Here are some of my photos, My girlfriend and travelling companion, Kirsteen, posing with the Supra whilst we waited for the guys at the Green Welly Stop at Tyndrum: Meeting up at Eilean Donan Castle at Dornie, where we rested our heads on Saturday night: At the foot of the Beallach na Ba, the road to Applecross: Applecross village car park: Beallach na Ba hairpin bend photo opportunity! On the road to Portree, Skye: View towards Skye Bridge at Kyle of Lochalsh:
  18. The best time to visit the west of Scotland (where all the best roads are) is in late May or mid September. Between those dates are the wet season and the tourist season with potentially busy main roads.
  19. Had a great weekend guys, weather was good except as Michael says, through Glencoe on the way home, although I'm very glad I booked into a B&B rather than camping it up in a near gale like the rest of them! 505 miles door to door for me in some of the best driving roads in Europe, I count myself as a very lucky lad to have the west coast on my doorstep. Big thanks to Marcus and Sunny for organising the trip and I would agree that this trip should be an annual event, I know I'd certainly be up for it again. Pics to follow when I'm home and have uploaded them to my photo hosting site.
  20. I'll be there (having coffee and a bacon roll) from 10.45 onwards.
  21. It would be easiest for me to meet up at the Green Welly Stop in Tyndrum, saves me coming down to the big smoke first!
  22. Just to let you guys know, I'm bringing my girlfriend with me on this weekend, she loves the Supra and driving in the highlands, so win, win for me!
