  1. This was my thinking Abz. Evo6 ticks some boxes the s2k doesn't.
  2. I also have a hankering for an evo6 which I cannot shake. Just wish I could afford another car and keep the supra. Just this s2k offer was unexpected and has got me thinking.
  3. Cars are at their most fun when you drive them to their limit. Put it back to stock form/power albeit 1jz or 2jz and enjoy it.
  4. My car has serious sentimental value prob cause ive had it since 2007 and within the last year I done an NA-TT which worked out well. I have once or twice considered selling up and trying something else but after giving the car a clean and a full tank and going for a spin the love always came back. BUT there is a guy not far from me who has an S2000 which is in fair condition (mechanically sound just cosmetics that let it down.... same as my supra really) has offered me a swap, its gunmetal and completely stock with a good service history (not full) only faults are the paint could do with a revamp and the soft top has a 1" tear that is taped but the car cones with a hard top. Im really tempted to take this offer. Have any of yous ever been offered a swap for anything other than a supra? Did you regreat it? im seriously stuck as to what to do.
  5. My wife is insured and has driven it a few times.. she doesn't hold back either but this doesn't bother me she is a good confident driver. She only really uses it if hers is in for an MOT or unavailable for some reason.
  6. I must have been lucky I had 2 mkIIIs both NA and Turbo I drove them hard with no love at all and never had an issue. The NA went to Poland. I have a real soft spot for them and often think of tracking down a JZA70 as its my missing link between my mkiiis and mkiv.
  7. Hasn't Geo got a good set of stock turbos for sale at a very good price?
  8. Hang on. If its yellow but like a singular block from the engine ecu connectors then your right its for the throttle ecu.
  9. I may be wrong but the chunky yellow one may be for airbags (if fitted) you should have an orange one also.
  10. Great progress so far Geo. Well done. Im watching this with serious interest. Im sure this will be something special once finito.
  11. Good to see you bought it from a reputable source. I imported mine via Jurgen. I would worry buying an engine on here sometimes. There are some GTE lumps going around that have been in 3+ cars with questionable milage but as your doing a full rebuild this wont be a problem mate. Im keen to see this develop. You got a finish date in mind?
  12. Great thread so far. Did you import the engine or buy from a member buddy? Subscribed.
  13. Stop thinking of it as a delicate flower and DRIVE it, service it when scheduled.
  14. I doubt anyone would even notice.
  15. They have an eu site but it seems glitchy http://www.varrstoen.eu/products_es_11.php

    Knocking help

could it possibly be the donut? or even the prop may have a loose bolt. make sure you have checked all the basics (diff included) and easy to get to stuff before you start pulling out the gearbox to see the flywheel.

  18. 2 years later. At least you followed up with the post.
  19. I never actually fitted mine there still in my garage somewhere.
  20. Im pretty sure there was a volvo with the A340e box.
  21. Yep seems that way. I changed both the looms behind the dash and the engine BAY loom. The integration relay has a small plug that goes into it on the TT dash loom. I cant remember if my NA had this. Just seems odd that toyota would have made only TTs to have an auto lights off function.
