  1. I saw a Mum in town this lunchtime and her kid was a nightmare. She had absolutely no control. The Mum explained her kids behaviour to another Mum she was with saying "he has ADHD". Personally I think the kid did not have ADHD but that it seemed a convenient excuse for the mum to use in what was quite an embarrassing situation.
  2. One four year old sent to bed probably
  3. Just interested in hearing about this. Many would say its useless parents and the kids need a good hiding. Others say it is well documented and on the rise because of our way of living. How do we explain the behavious of our kids? Thanks
  4. Will put it on later for you.
  5. I shall go and don some sack cloth and ashes and make a suitable penance for not being thorough enough checking out the previous posts.
  6. http://news.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/hi/newsbeat/newsid_7961000/7961224.stm A modern version of Cerne Abbas maybe?
  7. How much for the headlights please. Not too worried if they are the yellowed ones.
  8. No need to think about it. Give the money back or hand it to the police.
  9. The bigger OMC will probably have a higher torque output at much lower revs. I know from experience that my own NA does not do anything worthwhile until after 4K and gets on song after about 5K Pushing a big boat like that out of the water will probably need you to get up to revs very quickly and at low speeds that will give you cavitation. Its just a thought but whatever - it is a good project. Now buy my Supe and pull the engine and put a TT in it. Hmmmmmm
  10. Hi Stu, I was wondering what was keeping you at the 'office' so late. What are the torque output figures for each engine. I have a thought that the small block is a lot higher than the 2JZGE
  11. Should be alright for getting pickled onions out of a jar.
  12. People power. Best result this year so far IMHO
  13. Not all newspapers report in the same way. Yes some are provocative but there are many people out there who read a balanced account from a quality broadsheet. No matter how you write the story - if someone has been gilding the Lily then you can see they have acted shamefully. I agree with you that the job is pretty thankless and as I once heard from someone in govt., the decisions have you sh1tting bricks because of their consequences. BUT their duty is clear ie. to act with honour and in the best interests of the electorate and that is not a mitigation for taking all you can and bending the truth to do so. People are starting to feel that things are going to far and the voices of the little man are starting to be heard a little louder now and the best example of this was the Gurkha vote (Thankyou common sense and common decency) and the reluctance of Brown to enter into a fight about no confidense which would inevitably be sparked by the expenses debate.
  14. Its a fine line between what is allowed and what is acceptable. Yes it might be allowable but when you scratch away the surface it is apparent that some juggling of the facts and some convenient half truths have been used to gain the most advantage. Therefore what upsets many is the fact that it is not acceptable how some MP's act to get their expenses. Its a question of morals and quite honestly some MP's are rightly accused of having their noses in the trough and you and I fill that trough with our taxes. I can quite easily say that although that stuation may be allowable it is certainly not the act of a decent person and is quite shameful especially for someone who is charged with acting in the best interests of their constituents and the general public.
  15. The vast majority of over 50's have a stronger work ethic and more skills than the many under thirties. Far better to keep the over fifties in useful employment IMHO and use their skills properly. Maybe best to just get rid of Brown.
  16. The inescapable situation is that the govt needs cash so if there is anywhere it can reasonably collect cash it will. Like others have said if you speed you pay. Whether or not you think the motorist is an easy target seems to be irrelevant. Whether or not the forces and resources of law and order could be better employed is another question.
  17. Many thanks for the interest PMs. I will sort out the MOT etc and make a proper description with photos etc once I get some time off work. Seems a shame but whats the point of it gathering dust on the driveway, let someone who will enjoy it drive it is my thought at the moment.
  18. I have had the NA Aero for about 9 months. I love the car but it just sits on the drive and is a waste of me having it. I am going to get it prepared for sale as it has a few silly bits to sort out like electric aerial and fresh MOT for the buyer. I am in South Devon near Exeter. The car is 'P' reg from Bristol Import Centre, 65K miles and pretty good overall. If you want to express an interest let me know please by PM. At this time no idea of price but if someone wants it badly enough then it will force my hand. Colour is silver and engine is as sweet as can be. Totally unmolested except for induction kit.
  19. Mine has broken the toothed cord so it is stuck up. Does anyone have a spare unit for sale.
  20. I hope not. I think that has been done to death. I would rather see a positive outcome such as what type of country do we want. Its easy knocking things down but we need to start rebuilding. For many of us, emigration or burying our head in the sand is not an option.
  21. Via BBC website - Nick Hardwick, head of the Independent Police Complaints Commission, ......said police should remember they were "the servants not the masters" of the people. He also said that the number of people who had filmed the protests on their mobile phones ...... "I think that is challenging the police. They have to respond to the fact that they are going to be watched, there is going to be this evidence of what they have done." What sort of police do we want. Do we want political puppets, do we want a force or a service or dont we care. What do the rank and file police (who we must remember are also members of society) themselves want. Should we even question the tactics of the police and our government offices. Do they know best.
  22. This is our Collie cross "Giz" He spends most of his time with me at work so these are some of the pics taken at work. Asleep under my desk gradually pushing me out of the way. Telling me its time for a walk. Digging for victory on the beach. Ignoring his bowl of clean water and drinking out of the toilet - again!!!!

    I hate my job

Would you relocate, can you use other CAD, what do you call entry level salary (or day rate), Do you have access to software for subby work. Speak to us. Tell us what you have to offer. There are quite a few engineering bods on here like me who could often use a spare pair of hands. PM me if you want to be confidential.
  24. I design and style consumer products and now twenty five years in. My company has worked on some great projects and for some fantastic clients but today it seems like it pays the bills because I want to go out on the boat but am stuck in work. Yesterday it was the best job in the world after a fantastic presentation and great comments from a client but Monday might bring problems from anyone of our suppliers around the world and keep me awake all night.
