  1. 100% agree. But when someone says "is that not enough for you", they cannot close the door on the possibility that once they got there they found things they were not expecting alongside all they things they hoped they would collect etc. That is the basis of exploration. Unless Aldrin/Armstrong/Craft from A11 (or others from later Apollo missions as Alien sightings have been postulated on some of those missions as well) says yes or no then we will never really know will we. I doubt we will ever really know and so the doubt continues.
  2. I cant see why they never did get to the moon. If you read the transcripts (very boring but very natural - too natural to be staged) you know they went there. The mystery for me is what did they really see. I suppose I would like to think they saw something but as yet no one has proved that they did.
  3. Seriously though. If you put aside all the convenient circumstances like broken transmission and 'hundreds of radio hams' picking it up etc there could just be an element of truth. Thats what makes it so compelling to research. BUT As always the internet is such a rubbish bag full of drivel and no one ever quotes reliable sources (least all a spokesman from NASA or Aldrin themselves) there is as always very little if no proof. Is it fact or fiction. Not proven IMHO (and I have been looking for a reliable source for some time and yet dont have one). edit. If anyone really has the time they can gop through the official NASA transcripts but dont hold your breath for anything exciting. http://www.jsc.nasa.gov/history/mission_trans/apollo11.htm
  4. Just adding some fuel to the fire that is all. Its all good fun.
  5. Here is reproduced completely the dialogue between the American astronauts and Control Center: Armstrong & Aldrin: Those are giant things. No, no, no - this is not an optical illusion. No one is going to believe this! Houston (Christopher Craft): What ... what ... what? What the hell is happening? What's wrong with you? Armstrong & Aldrin: They're here under the surface. Houston: What's there? (muffled noise) Emission interrupted; interference control calling 'Apollo 11'. Armstrong & Aldrin: We saw some visitors. They were here for a while, observing the instruments. Houston: Repeat your last information! Armstrong & Aldrin: I say that there were other spaceships. They're lined up in the other side of the crater! Houston: Repeat, repeat! Armstrong & Aldrin: Let us sound this orbita ... in 625 to 5 ... Automatic relay connected ... My hands are shaking so badly I can't do anything. Film it? God, if these damned cameras have picked up anything - what then? Houston: Have you picked up anything? Armstrong & Aldrin: I didn't have any film at hand. Three shots of the saucers or whatever they were that were ruining the film Houston: Control, control here. Are you on your way? What is the uproar with the UFOs over? Armstrong & Aldrin: They've landed here. There they are and they're watching us. Houston: The mirrors, the mirrors - have you set them up? Armstrong & Aldrin: Yes, they're in the right place. But whoever made those spaceships surely can come tomorrow and remove them. Over and out. A certain professor, who wished to remain anonymous, was engaged in a discussion with Neil Armstrong during a NASA symposium. Professor: What REALLY happened out there with Apollo 11? Armstrong: It was incredible, of course we had always known there was a possibility - the fact is, we were warned off! There was never any question then of a space station or a moon city. Professor: How do you mean "warned off"? Armstrong: I can't go into details, except to say that their ships were far superior to ours both in size and technology - Boy, were they big!...and menacing! No, there is no question of a space station. Professor: But NASA had other missions after Apollo 11? Armstrong: Naturally - NASA was committed at that time, and couldn't risk panic on Earth. But it really was a quick scoop and back again. Now that is scary!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. What about the alien presence already there that supposedly warned off Aldrin and Armstrong and successive landings. The transcripts of the flights do not leave too much to the imagination. Armstrong: What was it? What the hell was it? That's all I want to know!" Mission Control: What's there?... malfunction (garble) ... Mission Control calling Apollo 11 ... Apollo 11: These babies were huge, sir!... Enormous!... Oh, God! You wouldn't believe it! ... I'm telling you there are other space-craft out there ... lined up on the far side of the crater edge! ... They're on the Moon watching us! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Unless it is done by a professional motor engineer who can warrant the repairs it is a DEATH TRAP. Whoever drives it has no repsect for others or themselves (how much damage in a residential area!!!!!) and will certainly thrash the car again. Next time they might not walk away.
  8. Contact Yardarm1 on mkiiisupra.net. He has a good set for sale very cheap. Tell him Chris sent you over.
  9. What a good read. I have an other theory to add and I am amazed no one has mentioned it yet. What if they did land on the Moon and we have never gone back because of what we found. I am not sure I subscribe to this but you cannot avoid the fact that there were some odd conversations recorded on many of the missions between the astronauts. I recall Buzz Aldrin being questioned about this many years ago. If memory serves (I was a lot younger) the answer was quite diplomatic and vague but what did stick in my mind was that it was an odd answer for such a precise man to make. Anyway, check this out. There is a lot of dialogue in there from many missions. http://www.ufos-aliens.co.uk/cosmicphotos.html
  10. There is more than enough technology available to actually prevent any car from speeding if only the government would make it mandatory at point of manufacture. Some is very simple and some is complex but all in all you could prevent speeding IF IT WAS THAT IMPORTANT TO DO SO. Consider that instead of actually stopping speed we have the alternative approach of the dirty tricks and tactics of the government (not the police) to get their hands on our cash. A couple of years ago I saw ANPR cameras disguised within cats eyes - FFS. I dont know if they have received type approval for use in law enforcement but it will only be a matter of time because the technology is so simple and robust.
  11. Now you have owned up to plastic rings I thing you are going to find the studs are badly fatigued. Please change them.
  12. Do you or did you use wheel spacers. I would suspect non hubcentric spacers to cause this. If so you should replace them all.
  13. Where do you think my forum name came from - lol.
  14. Not far off there. Combination of that as well as heat soak at the no6 cylinder against the firewall/poor EGR layout in that area and air entrapment in the cooling circuit in this area made for a very bad combination which was bound to fail. If you buy 7M series dont let it develop a BHG, just be prepared to do it. It takes about twenty hours and about three hundred quid if you do it yourself. If it overheats then it can mean a new head or at the very least a skim and that adds another £70 - £100 on the job. If you buy one which currently has a BHG be tempted to walk away if there is water in the oil. The big ends will go within a few weeks of doing the head. Guaranteed. Check out Mkiiisupra.net There is loads of good info there and they are very helpful.
  15. In my opinion you will see more and more of this. The country is bankrupt and the good old cash cow motorist will catch it in the wallet again and again. Our love affair with the car will always ensure there are enough motorists out there. The governments need to raise cash will ensure more and more devious methods used to catch offenders. Dont you think it strange that the government is trying harder and harder to convince us that speed is dangerous in order to justify their actions. We all know speed is overplayed as a factor, so it is just one big con. I say this. If speed was such a big evil in the same way DUI then why is it not an automatic ban to break the limit. Plain and simple, it is so they can go back and have three more sessions of putting their hand in your wallet. What purpose is there in sending someone a NIP two weeks after the incident. You need to stop them there and then and deal with it. Just like good old fashioned policing. One further thing. The people who I think get a raw deal out of this are the police. I hear a lot of criticism of the police acting like tax collectors etc. I believe this governments obsession with taxing speed is doing nothing but harm for the police/public relationship.

    yoohoo!

Ref the mirror - go to the Mk3 forum. Look up Yardarm1. He has a Mk3 breaking at the moment and loads of gear available. Tell him Chris sent you. PS welcome aboard
  17. Scum. I suppose all the plod were out catching real crims!
  18. ha ha very funny - NOT!! What a nasty little trick. Lets hope the tw@t that did it gets his come uppance. Can you imagine how dangerous that could be. 1. person with child or dependant waiting somewhere 2. elderly person 3. someone with skin condition such as eczema/psoriasis etc. Cyano's are deadly problematic for sensitive skins. All this shows is that some people are just stoopid and have sludge for brains.
  19. His buddy Mao had 'something' to do with 70,000,000 deaths in China as well aznd not a prayer in earshot.
  20. Some jealous little chav would key it. How would it look if 'Bond' chased him over the rooftops of London and then shot him. Great for the pro-vigilanty movement but plod would not be amused. I can see Mr Craig is just being not going to allow himself to be tricked into giving a freebie one man stunt show.
  21. Everyone eligible to vote must vote. People to take an active part in the government of this country. An end to fines for speeding, parking, et al. Preventing crime requires intelligent solutions not state robbery. Habeas corpus to be reaffirmed in law with a proper Bill of Rights
  22. Very, very sorry but I did laugh at that. Sorry. I shall go and do penance.
  23. The Council for the Prosecution calls Mr. Steve Myers (aka Mr. Billy Connolly CBE) as its first witness.
  24. If splitting a car was profitable why does someone not buy it from you at over the salvage price? Sorry to be harbinger of doom and gloom but I have broken a crashed Supra and have several mates who have done the same. You will get loads of interest, hold parts back on promises that dont come to anything, spend hours packing stuff up and then get shafted when parts are destroyed in transit and at the end of it will have a shell of no use to anyone and have to get it to a scrap yard. I should also mention all the lost evenings and weekends when buyers never turn up and the ruined driveway and pissed off spouse and neighbours. If you make any profit it would be lost in the effort it took you. My suggestion is get the cash, its an easy sale and move on.
