  1. Sounds like a lot of fun. Don't neglect the vids!
  2. I used a white 'tyre paint pen' from eBay. It seemed a bit of a mixed bag because one of the ones I bought was very good and long lasting and the other was more watery in consistency and less durable. They were only about £1.99 each though so perhaps you get what you pay for...?! The grouting pen sounds like it's worth a look though.
  3. I've got my schedule through now and I should be able to make the meet still! I may be a bit later than 6PM and I may need to cut away prematurely due to an early start the next day, but my name can stay on the list.
  4. Love the video, Luc. QUICK car!
  5. Correct. I haven't done it for a while (although it's on my list of stuff to re-do) but it doesn't take THAT long. I personally think it looks awesome!
  6. Agreed! and Callum. That looks like a very tidy NA you have.
  7. I was wondering the same thing! I haven't started her up yet. Chatting to John (jcbt) the other night at the Bluewater meet, he told me that LeeP had mentioned on Dragonball that the one he has (i.e. the same one I've just replaced) is only actually good for about 500bhp. In theory, if that's true, my turbo's been getting a bit stangled so this should (could...? ) make some sort of difference. Reports to follow...
  8. After missing the original delivery on Friday - I was NOT happy... - my new K&N air filter arrived this afternoon. Praying that I'd done the measuring correctly, I got to fitting it straight away. A reminder, the old one looked like this: The new one is a monster by comparison! It's got to be double the surface area...? Fortunately, my measuring turned out to be spot on. The new RU-5045 really fills the space AND doesn't touch my pre-existing heat shielding. Win! Here's a direct 'before and after' comparison: And my current engine bay (excuse the poor lighting...):
  9. Good story, Shane. Love the club spirit, people.
  10. That's a very clean looking car you've got yourself.
  11. That depends on the accuracy of the dyno' graph I guess. This pic here: shows max torque at 3700rpm (~ 584lbft, which I assume is at the wheels rather than the fly) so would be correct. Saying that, if the hp figure can't be confirmed I would assume it's the same story for the torque. In any event, having now had a quick spin in the passenger seat I can confirm that John's car is, uh, 'quite fast'...
  12. That's a very nice Supra you've bought there. Good call on "going to enjoy her as she is" too.
  13. I love this project! Watching for more updates.
  14. The weather cheered up a lot yesterday afternoon so I was able to fix the blow in my exhaust. I didn't take any pics of the work I'm afraid because a) I forgot and b) I only had a finite amount of time to work with the Araldite sealing putty stuff. But... it's all done now so in theory the exhaust will sound a lot better again (I haven't tested it yet because I wanted to leave everything to harden fully over night) - it's been getting increasingly loud albeit very gradually so therefore not very noticeably. In fact I only really noticed when I got home after the Bluewater meet on Friday night and my car woke the missus when I was parking outside the house, something that it's never done before. To be honest I'm not really surprised because the blow was much worse than I thought it would be - it actually looked like the back box was going to fall off the main pipe, the weld was so shot!! I've definitely now placed getting a nice shiny titanium exhaust higher up on my priority list, because I don't think my repair is going to last forever. Crucially of course is that if one section is rotted right the way through, the rest can't be far behind... I was going to buy Justin Bieber's (Adam's) Veilside one but it turns out it needs some brackets welding onto it which complicates things just a tad too much for me to justify. So I'm now looking at this 4" one from Whifbitz. Opinions?
  15. Looking good. Keep those updates coming!
