  1. its that standard colour thats browny / bronze (polite) or Monkey Shit Brown (not so polite). Not favoured by most, although i don't mind it personally and nearly brought one myself. not that it matters who likes it, its just that it may be a close ish match to what is a standard colour. TBH its probably more different than at first glance and especially so if a MSB sup was next to this 'Thunderstorm' colour.
  2. found the above link by searching on here, but it seems to be out of date, had a quick look on the apexi site in general but couldn't find instructions. Could be worth a detailed look.........
  3. Yes i know it doesn't work............
  4. try thishttp://www.apexi-usa.com/productdoc...ic_jza80kit.pdf
  5. There you go Ashley that's a real excuse........ :flame Dev
  6. Robbie yep TT is now sold and i'm pootling around in my NA! Sounds like it may be a wise move getting the oil cooler, and on the High stall converter front 'Monkeymark' on here has recently ordered one from the states so might be worth contacting him about this. Hope it all gets up and running soon i look forward to seeing it run.
  7. Robbie sounds like the car may nearly be done! I think you should ask Paul whiffin, Terry etc if they have them as they are the other boys with the hi powered toys, although i've never heard of any oil cooler discussions in all my time on the forum, but then we don't know just how far you've gone do we! BTW do you think the car is gonna be ready for the Jap drag day in October?
  8. Yep still going, will bring it along.
  9. Andrew i have one, that you can have for nowt its just cluttering up the garage, its off a J-spec car TT as far as i know. you can see if this fits, if not you can bin it!
  10. Dunk 657, you might want to keep an eye on this thread
  11. Ok car is fine again! Turns out it was a problem with the CAT 1 alarm wiring to the fuel pump circuit. To help searchers i've included the links below repair manuals for TT and NA Fault code 78 diagnostics (NB nz site has how to obtain error codes and all error code meanings etc)
  12. if a get my car running again tomorrow i may well pop down to give it a run, i've been commuting in a mini all week which has been fun but the novelty is wearing off (BTW filled up with optimax and i could only get £14.85 in the tank!) fingers crossed.........
  13. 400, TT's sold now! you've gotta watch me i don't tend to keep them long! when it runs it runs sweet, and i'm pretty sure its an electrical gremlin, as with nothing more than a bit of probing, ooh er, it started and again ran fine, but hours later failed to fire. I'll store all this and any other info up and keep my fingers crossed that its all sorted on friday. Thanks again peeps
  14. Cheers for that Ian, i'll pass this info onto my friendly auto electrician.
  15. Cheers i'll have a look there too. Hopefully just some electrical glitch / short etc. Seems to have a mind of its own at the moment.
  16. He was right to be cautious, cause it won't start again
  17. Its OK I think i've found what i need on the New Zealand supra groups (very good source of info and user friendly access no search button required for most stuff!)
  18. I gonna do some searching, but i'm after a circuit diagram for the mkiv (98 facelift NA if there's any significant diffs) particularly for the fuel pump / relay etc type area. If anyone can point me in the right direction i would be grateful. Ta
  19. Cheers for that Ad, while i've been at work its been getting seen to and there was a problem with the fuel pump relay, basically the fuel pump was not operating. Tis up an running at the moment so i'm told! but electrician guy isn't totally sure it won't happen again. Need a circuit diagram for the car / fuel system. A new thread me thinks!
  20. Oh dear shouldn't have been so confident, it wouldn't start again this morning. Seems to be a fueling issue, no signs between this time and the last time of any rough running problems. Must have fired up between 15 -20 times before now not starting again? I don't like intermittent prob's Anyone got any non starting ideas /checks. Car turns over fine just won't catch / fire? cheers
  21. Far just to confirm i'm no mechanic the advice i give is solely based on previous advice received etc. I was happy that people said it was normal and that impending doom was not a few miles around the corner. A least you know its a normal thing for the manual sup's now its up to you really as to what you get done and when. For further info, my old manual car (10yrs 93K miles) was noisy in first when in a queue ie clutch fully up no throttle just creeping along (not a rattle noise). Also at tick over (neutral) there was a quiet but noticable noise (rattle / grating) that dissappeared when the clutch was depressed. Also i noticed it made quite a clunk somewhere when you raised the clutch sharply in a queue, a bit like dumping the clutch for a doughnut but with no revs (don't advise you do this too often!) All this makes it sound like the car was shot but it performed perfectly well just a little noisy (if i hadn't had a standard exhaust i might never had noticed) BTW The first two noises are not apparent in my new (5yrs old 42K) manual and there is only a slight amount of clunk / slop on the clutch bite, but the rattle on turn off is the same as the older car.
  22. It means it does exactly what mine did / does . I think this does point to the flywheel yes. As advised i'd say try other peoples cars and get them to try yours. Almost certainly nothing to worry about short term, granted they wouldn't have left the factory like that but if you can put up with the noise just drive it. I posted about the exact same rattle when i brought my old manual, and was told it was normal. I did look into getting it replaced and was advised that it made sense to do other bits at the same time eg crank seal, bearings & prob clutch. TBH i was going to leave it til the clutch went or something similarly serious, but after 13K miles + woodbridge and pod meets it didn't seem to get any worse, certainly not from the operation / performance side and then i sold it............... Might make it to the crawley meet, so you can hear my current 'Death rattle' and this should make you feel better.
  23. Get your friend to depress the clutch and then turn it off and it shouldn't rattle to a stop. Both my 6 speeds have rattled and i put on 13k miles on one and it didn't get worse. I think someone said it could damage the clutch but i just thought i'd do both when the time came as it would save on the labour cost IMO just learn to live with it at the moment and see how it goes
