  1. TBH from what i've read here the benefits of induction systems are (powerwise) minimal, more asthetics and noise changes. Can decrease power if more air ends up coming from the engine bay. I THINK its been mentioned before that some induction kits allow the stock bov to be more vocal.
  2. definitely advise pulling the fuse, and then going to your usual safe quiet place to try it out. I remember reading some time ago that with the fuse in there is still an element of traction control built in even with the in car switch turned off. But as always be careful early doors........
  3. Bobbeh, I got a best time of 13.875...... Hardly had time to chat to anyone as i was constantly queueing. I got butt-whipped (calm down Brad & Termi) by Robbie all day (we're both white UK's), until Ian C obilged;) on my final run of the day
  4. I'm fully larded up to. Sounds like your both partially de-catted, it'll be interesting to see the difference this makes......
  5. I'm completely standard and also a pod virgin (went last time but didn't run and left quite early), but I did run recently at the TSC. Mid-life, as Monkeymark says in another thread Lardy = Heavy, the UK spec cars are the heaviest of all sup's that left the factory (I believe).
  6. Matt it would be good to follow you;) down the quarter but ideally I'm looking for someone slightly less modded for a bit of friendly rivalry......John K for a white supra duel ? 4 o'clock thing makes sense to me to. Mid-life, just pulling your leg, I look forward to it. Whats with selling your car to get a lardy UK?
  7. Now Mid-life has backed (bottled) out, is anyone else up for pairing up for a few runs.........
  8. It's all just banter to get a bit of healthy competition, on the day everyone's too busy chatting / racing. Its only post the event that it all starts again on the forum. BTW i'm the right side of 30 (just) and my car should be running at standard boost (0.8 Bar????) A week sunday, Santa Pod (Northampton way, normally a convoy is organised nearer the time) and cost about 10ish to get in/spectate and £13ish to run from memory..... but you know what they can be like as you get older.....next thing you know I'll be repeating myself:D
  9. I reckon its well worth it, I'll be there and I've got a completely standard, lardy UK spec, so you shouldn't be last, in fact I'd be quite up for a duel to see what your basic mods can do, compared to my more youthful (cough) reactions:D
  10. Can anyone confirm that we'll be OK to pay on the day, and that we don't need to show our drivers licence
  11. Sounds good.....I'll do a few PM's for mobile numbers.....
  12. Supra pilot, I'm going to take your advice and enjoy the last day of my freedom.....i'll probably try and meet up with the Kent convoy.....see you at tesco's PS Matt H can you bring my Sub along....
  13. Cheers Chris and Nathan. I had a look last night and it appears to be leaking as you (Nathan) describe. There is quite a bit of fluid in the non intercooler side front bumper pod. The sheathe comment rings a bell too as recently I had an oil leak and whilst tracking down the source of this (oil pressure sensor) I noticed the pipe with sheathing you describe, and fluid must have been leaking from here then but I just assumed it was all oil. Not sure it'll take ME a few minutes but at least I know (hopefully) the extent of the problem..... thanks again
  14. When i said no sign of leaks that was me just checking the engine bay area (Doh), so i will extend my search cheers.......
  15. cheers AJI, I didn't think it was normal, will check thoroughly for a leak, no obvious signs but it must be going somewhere!
  16. PAS was noisy on start up a couple of times recently, checked the fliud and it was low, topped up and all was fine, but not for long (x1 month 1k miles). Refilled twice now since first problem (from below min (cold level) to hot level. i don't think this is normal (is it?) could it be the pump on its way out? No sign of any leaks btw. (possible mix of fluids in the system, should i get it flushed and refilled?)
  17. i think some people use a guy called Stewart Sandy (?) at 'Toyota tech' in Fareham, no personal experience of the place but just remember it from previous members reccomendations. Doing a search should reveal a phone number or two.......
  18. If your a power junkie save any disposable and buy a uk TT, ignor the mileage and enjoy the power & cheap insurance (
  19. I think the charcoal cannister is located at the back right of the engine bay and can gurgle/ buzz. Its some sort of filtration thingy, there are a few old threads on there purpose and cleaning them etc, don't think you'd hear it from inside the car though...
  20. I believe the second cable is the cruise control = no problems All the rest is a bit out of my league & possibly/probably cause for concern
  21. Dunebug as short term solution you could do alot worse than getting hold of some stock 16's (as long as you have the smaller J-spec brakes which you probably have given your current wheels). They can be picked up for £50 or less with useable rubber (certainly no fibres showing) and you will see if you get any rubbing of arches etc. I know the Sup won't quite look the same but it will almost definitely feel, handle and grip better. You can then decide on the long term alloy plans ££££££
  22. Uk manuals are notoriously difficult to get hold of but you can get lucky if your patient (maybe 6-9 months of looking with cash waiting for a quick decision). Their tend to be a few UK auto's on autotrader most weeks and if you want to drive a Sup soon this looks like your only option.
  23. I don't think the stock system (UK spec) was that bad but it definitely comes in early which can be a problem when trying to overtake in damp conditions. I prefer the traction off and to feed the power (full throttle in the wet is asking for trouble) whilst expecting some slip and being prepared to ease off instantly.I had the traction on when I first got mine but have now removed the TRC fuse. I just prefer the chance every now and again to get sideways on my favorite wide roundabout. I would say try all the settings, find somewhere you can experiment safely and see what you prefer.
  24. Did the fitting of this kit get rid of any knocking noises etc your car (may of) had?
