  1. Yeah the 240Z is very cool, but I've done the whole japanese car thing now. Much as I hate to admit it on the supra forum, but my elise is soooo much more fun to drive than the supra. I know whatever I choose won't be as good a car as the supra, but it's got to be fun, unusual and as impractical as possible
  2. Hey only 29! But think I have to invest in a tweed jacket if I bought the Merc
  3. Probably not as much as a Cerbera, and I doubt it would depreciate!
  4. I'll be putting my Supra up for sale quite soon, and I've spent the last few weeks thinking about a car to replace it. I'm now 90% sure I'll be getting a TVR Cerbera, but I've just spotted the most beautiful looking car on Pistonheads. It's probably not what you're expecting, but it's very very special and I can't stop looking at it! http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/124104.htm Any opinions?
  5. I'll be phoning them next week (if i can get through!) and will expect a very large cut in my subscription. I read last week on av forums that the retentions department are desparate to keep customers. Not a good start to the Virgin branding!
  6. That is way cool. I've got Dancing Stage Euromix on the PS1 and I wore out the mat but I couldn't do that!
  7. Cheers Geoff. I'll bare that in mind. I've been very lucky with cars so far, but I'm seriously doing my homework with the Cerbera as everyone I know has tried to put me off buying one!
  8. Geoff, how does the Griffith compare to the supra? If you had to give one up, which would it be?! I'm a bit worried that I'll regret selling the supra. It's been a fantastic car, but there doesn't seem any point owning three cars. The elise I bought last year is working out well as an everyday car, especially on petrol, so it will be the supra that goes.
  9. Has to be the V8. The speed six is a great engine but even less reliable. I'll be looking for a well tuned 4.5, as I wouldn't be happy with something slower than my supra. I get the impression the cars thrive on being used. Provided the engine is carefully warmed up and serviced at the correct intervals, there's no reason for it to be unreliable.
  10. Well, I should probably say that I've decided to buy a Cerbera in the next few weeks. My supra, which I've had since July 2002, will be up for sale shortly. The Cerbera running costs are pretty high, but hopefully will be manageable if I'm *very* careful when choosing one

    Nintendo wii

Yeah, I don't see what the problem is. There's obviously a premium on Wii's, as you still can't just walk into a shop and buy one. Well, except I did just that a few weeks ago but it was a fluke and I got one of the last ones in the shop
  12. try google. if it's a business, it often finds it.
  13. Those times are meaningless. It doesn't stop counting until you release the mouse button!
  14. Admit it. You've been watching UK Gold haven't you?
  15. Well I struggled massively in the snow today. Barely managed to get the supra off my driveway and then got stuck on a tiny incline. I find with the automatic, you can't drive slower than a certain speed when the car is cold and revs are high. As soon as I took my foot off the brake (however slowly), the rear wheels turned and the car stayed where it was. So five minutes getting it back on the driveway, then I took the lotus out which handled it fine
  16. Me too! At least I know I'm a Photic Sneeze Reflexer now
  17. This is my runabout I actually drive it a lot more than the supra! http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/misc/elise01.jpg
  18. Probably a touch under 2 secs in my BPU TT auto. I'm not sure that 50-70 is that useful to compare cars as it's too short! Also plenty of cars have their redline in 2nd in this range, so they might be penalised. I reckon 60-100mph is better. I timed my car at 5.1 secs

    Euro lottery

That would be a better gamble. Riskier, but better odds of making a profit
  20. How boring is the place you live? I'm in a pretty quiet village but even so, I had a good laugh at the newsletter that just came through the door... http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/misc/cottenham.jpg
  21. I spent five hours skiing and had a delicious chicken and chips in an outdoor cafe at -10C and I reached a GPS verified speed of 49mph
  22. Yeah, I kissed her. There's so much I could have talked to her about but didn't. I have her solo album which is fantastic and I think I voted for her on "I'm a celebrity get me out of here"
  23. I'm in Val D'Isere on holiday this week, and met Myleene Klass in the town last night! She was filming for gmtv and she's the nicest person ever Will have to watch itv in the mornings and see if I made it into shot! http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/misc/myleene.jpg
  24. Hi all, just got time to fire up my laptop and say hello. I'm in Val D'Isere in the south of france on a skiing holiday. Scenery is fantastic. We are due a snowfall today although the snow is pretty good anyway. Seen a few people stretchered off the mountain so I'm being pretty careful! I've done a few blue runs and a red run though Some people have a strange idea of how to keep warm: http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/misc/ladies.jpg
