  1. One of the quietest is the Mongoose system, and it removes both cats too as it's a full length exhaust. I sold mine to the last guy that posted a "I want a really quiet exhaust" thread!
  2. I was looking for a new watch, and I eventually decided on this one. I've had it a month now and very pleased with it
  3. In my time, I've bought more than my fair share of laptops with Windows pre-installed. When the laptop dies, the Windows license dies too - unless you're willing to do a *lot* of pissing around with stupid Microsoft licensing. So why should I buy yet another copy, when I've already bought far more copies of Windows than I'm currently using?
  4. The ultimate racing sim has to be Grand Prix Legends on the PC. It was made in 1998 (I think) and simulates the 1967 F1 Grand Prix season. This was the year before the cars had wings, so there's no aerodynamic downforce, yet the cars are stupidly powerful. The physics is fantastic and the cars feel on a knife-edge as they corner! It supports DirectX and force-feedback steering wheels with a patch.
  5. Just looked at your garage. Your aerotop looks cool but do you like, live at Tescos or something?
  6. Hehehe. On a single journey I'm spotted twice *and* raced a Ferrari 360 Modena Why can't every trip be like that?!
  7. Hiya, yeah that was me. Was an eventful trip so posted this: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=105249
  8. Yes, Sky insure my elise. They covered my modifications, and they mirrored my NCB from the supra.
  9. I saw one in Dixons at the weekend. It was playing Ridge Racer, not in hi-def, and it didn't look any better than the PS2. Not only that, but the console is giant! It must be full of air ready for when Sony bring out a mini version of it in a couple of years time.
  10. Did anyone go to the web site advertised on the back on Jensen Button's Honda F1 car? (the one with the world painted on it). http://www.myearthdream.com It's hilarious You tell them which country you come from and then you choose from one of the following pledges: 1. Share my car 2. Only take flights when necessary 3. Install at least three energy saving lightbulbs 4. Take the bus or train 5. Cycle or walk to work or the shops 6. Turn my thermostat down by 1C 7. Give up ironing 8. Not leave any of my appliances on standby or my phone on charge unecessarily 9. Wash my laundry at 30C 10. Turn off the tap while I clean my teeth 11. Recycle all my paper 12. Change my electricity supplier to a renewable power supplier There's a wide range of countries to choose from. I think the best combinations are: Iran - Change my electricity supplier to a renewable power supplier Western Sahara - Turn my thermostat down by 1C Iraq - Cycle or walk to work or the shops Ethiopia - Only take flights when necessary Antarctica - Take the bus or train South Africa - Share my car And once you've chosen, they print it on the actual car James.
  11. The other two seats are well hidden there How about a Holden HSV? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/64714.htm
  12. Since you've already done Japanese, how about something different like an Alfa 147?
  13. It's a convenient hole to fit a rear wiper
  14. okay, took all these this evening on my phone when i saw this thread! I read the mkivsupra forum on all these work pc (spot the ecu, superbike throttle body, random crap etc..) http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/misc/worksnap.jpg home pc (spot the 1up, and more random crap) http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/misc/homesnap.jpg and finally my home theatre pc (no random crap this time) http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/misc/htpcsnap.jpg
  15. That's the phone number of the Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel. Maybe he lives there
  16. Drives me mad too! I use that Meguiars Quick Detailer and wipe it off as soon as I see it on my paintwork. Be glad you don't have a soft fabric roof. It's ten times harder to get off!
  17. I stayed on NTL/Virgin, but I gave them a ring just before Sky One disappeared, and threatened to cancel. They dropped my monthly bill from 56 quid/month to 35 quid/month and gave me free evening and weekend calls too. Job done
  18. One of my front tyres goes flat after about 3 days. I had a couple of new front tyres last week but the problem didn't go away, so I assume the valve is at fault. I phoned up the tyre place today and they said they might have trouble replacing them as my valves have a right angle in. Are these particularly unusual? It sounds like they are fobbing me off, but it's consistent with what I've heard from tyre places in the past. They are going to take a look on Saturday morning anyway. Just wondered if anyone here has had this problem?
  19. I'd be tempted to phone Toyota and complain. I might be wrong, but I thought Toyota had a policy of treating imports and UK models the same. At the least, you might get the dealer into trouble Don't go there though, the specialists willl be much better!
  20. Grey Supra filling up at the *Tesco* petrol station in Milton, Cambridge. HAVE YOU NO SHAME??!!!!!
  21. I write embedded software for motorsport ECUs.
  22. Mr. RobSheffield. I thought I remembered you saying you don't actually live in Sheffield
  23. oh, that's what it is. I tried to wipe it off my laptop screen
  24. I was pretty obsessed about reliable cars too, but I've now decided it's not the most important thing. When stuff goes wrong, it's usually a good learning experience to put it right! The throttle linkage in my elise snapped recently. It was close to home so I wasn't too badly stranded I got a friend to make me up a new bracket and i had to drill out the old rivet from the throttle pedal (while balanced upside down) and bolt the new bracket in place. I'm not that mechanically minded so it was quite a sense of achievement
