  1. I don't see how you can expect the same level of reliability when you're pushing the turbos, engine, drivetrain and brakes harder! Nevertheless, my BPU supra has been faultless for over 4 years. But I've done less than 30,000 miles in it, and I don't thrash it everyday
  2. Yeah, I hit my hand on the windscreen the first time I drove my supra! Don't think I've done it since. The ultimate stupidity was managing to cut my ear getting in To this day, I can't work out how I did it, but I noticed blood dripping down my ear as I was driving off! doh!
  3. Fantastic video! I'm typing this on my "Microsoft® Remote Keyboard for Windows XP® Media Center Edition v1.0" (seriously, that's what it's called )
  4. You're all concerned about ID cards and tracking and yet you all posted your name, address, postcode and email on the government's Number 10 website doh!!!!
  5. Sounds a bit nuts if you ask me! I wonder whether you get a lump sum, or if you have to post them every single taxi receipt and bus ticket you get
  6. Sorry to hear that! Guess it's always possible it will be cancelled at the last minute. I saw Christina Aguilera on Friday night and she was fantastic. Maybe this pic will cheer you up http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/misc/xtina.jpg
  7. This is great Anyone want to do the same to their supra? http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2918517

    gobsmacked

I saw someone do this around a blind bend on the Snake Pass a while ago. I so wish I'd got his reg no as I would have reported him to the police in a second. As far as I'm concerned, overtaking on a blind bend should be a 10 year ban.
  9. Well, the name fifthgearsupra.avi seemed vaguely familar as it came from me originally! Here it is: http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/misc/fifthgearsupra.avi
  10. I think you can work it out from the VIN plate. Mine is an RZ with cruise control and leather seats!
  11. Looks very nice, but you don't have much in the way of reflectors on the rear of your car now. Don't park it on the road at night as someone will run into the back of it!
  12. Looks awesome. I'm almost definitely going to get a Cerbera to replace my supra when the time comes (maybe next year). Make sure you have a good read of the pistonheads cerbera forum - they have a lot of faults and you need to budget for some expensive servicing.
  13. lol! My first car was a corsa and it would have been quicker if it was battery powered
  14. you don't really think the 'v' stands for 'volt' do you?
  15. I got a Sony Ericsson W850i last week which is quite nice. Will still be keeping my old Nokia 6630 for tomtom though. I bet no-one can beat my contract though Orange Everyday 50. 14 quid per month gets me 50 free off-peak mins per day.
  16. Yeah I've been with HSBC a long time and never had any problems. Just checked my credit card again and there were two more unauthorised transactions. I phoned them and yet again they said they would "investigate". I told them to cancel the card and send me a new one, which they are now doing.
  17. I come from Sheffield originally. My mum's house overlooks Stannington.
  18. Kismet running on pdaxrom (linux distro on Zaurus). http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/misc/zaurus.jpg
  19. Nah, I actually have a week off. Think I got the cold on the damn tube jammed up against everyone on Saturday.
  20. Hey, I even got some geeky new glasses yesterday with thick black plastic frames! (seriously )
  21. Yeah, I think so. I'm fairly sure my details were nicked online, as I hardly ever use my credit card in a shop. But I think the HSBC web site is fairly secure, as if you put in the wrong number a few times, then they get in contact with you.
  22. I'm on holiday (with a bad cold ) and have been pottering around today doing random stuff. This might interest some of the IT bods here. I went wardriving with my Sharp Zaurus PDA, and plotted the wireless access points I found onto Google Earth. Green dots are encrypted (WEP, WPA etc..), red dots are unencrypted. In built-up areas, it picks up a new access point every few seconds. Here's a pic - by the way it's Stannington, Sheffield: http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~jamesg/misc/wardriving.jpg
  23. I might be interested but need to know how many minutes per side and does it go well with chips?
  24. No, perhaps I should have done, but they are free to deal with this any way they see fit. It's the banks money, not my money getting stolen. She spent most of the phone call trying to sell me HSBC Card Guard for 20 quid/year. Poor form considering it's the banks and online retailers shoddy practices that cause problems like this.
  25. Just had a look at my online credit card statement and there's a couple of items that are nothing to do with me. So someone has obviously got hold of my credit card details! Has this happened to anyone on here? Asking around, I know at least three other people this has happened to recently. I reckon it must be online - probably some unscrupulous employee of a company I bought something from. Amazingly, I phoned HSBC and the woman didn't cancel my card straightaway. Looks like the payments will be "investigated" and they will get back to me. I guess it's their loss when my account gets used again!
