  1. That actually looks pretty nice, I was thinking about buying one of those kits a couple weeks ago. Do you know if they have changed what comes in the kit so that they fit?
  2. I have some stock j-spec suspension springs for sale that came off my 93 gz with approx 50k miles on them. There is nothing wrong with these, the only reason I changed them was I put new bilstein shocks on the car and got a hold of some low milage vvti springs. Thought I might aswel change them seen as they were coming off anyway, how does £40 for them sound. Collection prefered but I am willing to post. Dont know how much it will cost though.
  3. I have these wheels and I think they suit the car very well. Pics in my garage if you want to see what they look like on a supra.
  4. Would you post the indicators?
  5. have the stock orange blob indicators gone? If not can I have them please.
  6. sounds good Do you know if any of them are confident dyno'ing auto's? and if they have done auto TT supras before? I didnt have much confidence in the last place I had mine done (cant remember the name of the place)
  7. Just wondering if anyone has the clear lenses to replace the orange indicator lense in the rear lights (pre facelift)
  8. I had a problem very similar to this the other day. The car drove fine and idle's fine but under heavy acceleration it felt like a little hesitation sometimes in the high revs (and high boost). It never happened in the 3years I have had the car and I thought 'that feels a little wrong' so I put my foot down again, same thing. I tried it again to see if I could figure out what boost and revs it was happening at and then a giant POP! my arse clenched and I thought 'oop's somethings just broke' as my boost gauge would only read to 0psi and no more and all power was gone. I thought the turbos had packed there blades and went to the big shiney housing in the sky but after a little bit of investigation it turned out one of the intercooler hoses had poped off. I put it back together and took it for a spin and all was good. No more hesitation and back to full strength Anyway, sorry for the rant (especially in Tech ) but from what I had experienced it could be that an intercooler hose may not be tight enough and is alowing air to sometimes escape at high boost levels giving a fluctuation in boost and power. Go round the intercooler pipework and make sure everything is pushed home and tight. It's free to do but most other things will cost (replacing plugs ect)
  9. what about brakes being slightly sticky and causing a resistance on one side?
  10. Mmmm, If it was me I would give it a run with the controller set 'off' as this should give you stock boost levels. If it does and the car behaves when turned off then it should prove your plumbing is correct and that it must be something to do with th settings on the controller.
  11. Is boost all over the shop even when the controller is set to off? A gain of 15 is maybe a little on the high side for the supra. I have mine set to 5. I dont think this is your problem but a gain set too high will cause it to overboost slightly
  12. Yes, if the controller is set to off you should have standard boost. Have you tried it?
  13. If its plumbed in right have you checked all the settings on the controller, gain levels ect? Did you disturb any of the other vac pipes while fitiing? Bit odd to have 0.9 bar and then 1.4 bar without doing anything different. I know its a pest but what about trying the car without the boost controller connected and see how the car behaves? By that I mean put the plumbing back to normal.
  14. From what I can see you have the same solenoid as me. You want your 'out' hose from the solenoid to go to the top of the wastegate actuator (see post 9) and cap the bottom conection of the wastegate actuator (underneath number 12) Then you want your 'in' hose to go to a connection coming off from the turbo just above the wastegate actuator (bit of a pain to get too) I'll try and find a pic. Edit - have a look at the last pic on Ian's thread, post 1 (its a pic of a turbo).http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=35926 You can see the wastegate actuator on the bottom and just below no.13 there is a connection on the turbo. That is where you 'In hose should go to. You then have your wastegate vsv disconnected from the plumbing as this is replaced by the EBC solenoid. Where you have the blue silicone hose coming from the 'in' side of the solenoid (in your first pic, post 2) going to a black metal pipe, you want to cap that black pipe off. If you have disturbed any other vac pipes you would want to put them back the way they were. So the only things that have changed is 1) the wastegate vsv is disconnected 2) you have capped off the bottem of the wastegate actuator 3) you have capped off the black metal pipe where your blue silicone hose is going to (off the 'in' side of your solenoid) 4) you have connected the 'out' side of the EBC solenoid to the top of the wastegate 5) you have connected the 'In' side of the solenoid to the turbo pressure outlet connection. Thats it. Hope that helps.
  15. Iv just bought a set from this guy http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HID-CONVERSION-KITS-H1-H3-H7-H11-9005-9006-UK-NEXT-DAY_W0QQitemZ160313515641QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item160313515641&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1309 they seem a solid bit of kit, took 10mins to install and it says you get 2 years warranty. The price is good and they work a treat. Cant complain for £50 delivered and they are based in the uk so delivery was very fast, I got them on a saturday after ordering on fri afternoon.
  16. Can you buy a sump bolt for the autobox that is pre-drilled to take a temp sensor for an oil temp gauge? If so where would I fget one from?
  17. I would be up for a meet and I'll ask Kev_A, he has just bought his first supra a week ago and I know he will be itching to get to a supra meet 1. spyro (south shields) 2. stevo (swalwell) 3. Hodge 4.dan8 5. Chris and alana 6. Kev_A (possibly) 7.
  18. Do you have the driver side front door window glass? Does it have any scratches? and would you be willing to post? Oh and how much
  19. Nor me, got mine from vine almost 3 years ago and they seemed smashing fella's. I have been round there place recently as a friend of mine is going to buy a black tt they have for sale. We went round the car and noted anything we wanted seeing to and they done the lot, even changed the steering wheel and auto shifter as it had 'some' wear. Very good service me thinks but Im sure they cant please everyone.
  20. I changed the rr to a smaller one when I took the cat out. Its from whifbitz and made to give about 1bar boost, which it does almost spot spot on.
  21. I know what your saying and I suppose this would be the case if I had it turned on but I left it off while I was checking things out. To be honest I hardly ever use it. The car runs at about 1bar now with full decat and rr and I only use the EBC if there is something fun to play with but as for boost pressure, it was very stable under heavy acceleration with the EBC off. I did have a boost leak about 9months to a year ago and the boost reading was all over the place and even the EBC couldnt keep it very stable so I am quite sure the noise isnt from there. I'll just ignore it for now and see if anything occurs but I think it must just be a slight change in the sound of exhaust gas flow or something.
  22. Would you post the driver side window glass? If so how much? And is it in good condition, no scratches ect? Thanks
  23. I dont think its anything to be concerned about but I did think it was a leak on one of the exhaust joints so I remade them again with new gaskets and plenty of exhaust paste. I must admit the second time round the noise seemed to be less noticable (although I could have been imagining it ) but I made sure that all joints were made spot on. I dont think I have a boost leak as boost is stable and where it should be. The only thing I changed was removing the second cat for a de-cat pipe. I was just wondering if it is normal to get a little noise like this after removing the cats.
  24. Is it normal to have a bit of a hissing noise after a full decat? I have ran my car with a nur spec R and a first decat for years now and all was ok. Today I fitted a second decat pipe (thought I might as well try it ) and now when the second turbo comes online I can hear a hissing noise. Could it just be the noise of all the exhaust gases getting pushed out the exhaust when both turbos are online? I dont get the noise below 4k rpm. I dont think I have a boost leak because my EBC reads very stable boost at around 1bar which is where it's supposed to be, plus I had no problem before fitting the second decat. I have no smoke on start up or on full boost and I have remade all the exhaust joints with new gaskets and paste twice incase it was one of those. Apart from the new noise (which is not that loud but was not there before) everything works fine.
