  1. Cool, thanks for the advise guy's, If there are no gains to speak of from any of the above I think I will do as you say Gaz. The sooner I have the money the sooner I can have my dream supra pointless wasteing money afterall.
  2. I have experimented with boost levels between 1.0 and 1.2bar and the car feels at it's best just below 1.2bar with the EBC. From what I have read WI seems to be good too lower EGT's and with a Piggy back ECU timing and fuel can be adjusted to give gains. Which ECU do you recommend? I wouldnt need anything flash just enough to make use of WI and maybe cams. Having an auto I dont want to go Single and hybrids seem alot of money and hassle for not much gain. I plan on keeping this car for another year or two and thn I want a Facelift single 6sp but I would have liked just a little bit more power til then.
  3. Hi guy's, I currently run BPU apart from I kept the second cat and have a EBC to up boost. I have done a search and found that water injection is quite a good thing to have. But does it give any gains in bhp on it's own or would I need a piggy-back ECU to take advantage of it? Also would I see any increase in power by reomiving the second cat even though It wouldnt effect boost as I can raise it anyway. I also had a look at changing the cams and it looks like they would be the best next upgrade but WI can be had for a fraction of the cost and lowers EGT's ect. Oh . . I have an auto aswel if it matters. Anyway, whats everyone's experiance with mods after basic BPU? What have you guy's found to be best bang for buck? If anyone with an auto runs WI how do you find it, would a simple boost controlled unit be fine? WI only seems to have benefits and I would like to know more
  4. and one of my fav cars but the cerbera is half the price (both being second hand) and the 4.5 cerbera is quicker on paper, no doubt the sagaris would be quicker in the corners making it an overall quicker better car but for the money the cerbera is a beast and I two would love one some day, I just wish they made them slightly better, ABS would be good too
  5. I would say 'Yes' I have a nur spec R exhaust and removed the stock first cat but kept the second cat in place. The restriction of the standard second cat was/is not enough to hold boost back to a sensable level (in my case anyway). I saw 18-20 psi and it was still climbing until fuel cut occured so now I use a restrictor ring aswel. I take it you have or are going to install an after market cat back exhaust aswel. . . Anyway if the stock cat cant hold boost back a high flow sports cat wont.
  6. Silver sup came up behind me at metro center . .
  7. The Astra Just kidding, it was the MG ZS, should I still run and hide, lol. It wasnt a bad car actually and for the price they can be had for now aday's I would consider one again, but only the facelift V6 ZS saloon.
  8. I personally dont like the look of these at all and cant see any advantage of them, like I said earlier, is it not just an expensive way of removing the front of the air box? Even then, the folded design of the standard filter would give a greater surface area than a flat filter, I just cant see the benefit's at all It's even open to the hot engine bay temps. However, I would imagine it will appeal to many other people and as long as your happy with it, it's non of my business
  9. My car list:- 1991 1.4 mk3 vauxhall astra estate 2001 1.25 mk5 fiesta 2003 1.8 Mk1 MG ZS then to the 1993 Supra TT I own now
  10. I have a TT auto and made an at the wheels figure of 310bhp and an estimated fly wheel figure of 369bhp. Thats a transmition loss of 59bhp which is about a 19% loss. Oh and that was at 1bar, I now have an EBC and can run 1.2 when ever I want so would like to see the difference, hope to make close to 400bhp at the fly
  11. Looks like an expensive way of removing the front of the standard air box
  12. I use the following and have had no problems at all, looks fine aswel:- 8x18 front with 235/40/18 tyres 9x18 rear with 265/35/18 tyres
  13. there are also 2 other common places (not to worry you anymore) but have a look in the gap between the roof and the boot (with the boot closed) and also have a look down underneath the big black plastic bit under the windscreen. Every supra I have looked at has had rust in these places.
  14. Gumetal is one of my faveroute colours for the supra and is what I would def have using my car everyday but if its a show car then the orange or the blue would win for me
  15. Thanks for the replies guy's I take it the heat from the engine wont have an effect on the paint on the bonnet over time if removed then? Does it also make a considerable difference to the amount of noise you can hear from the engine when removed? It's a good idea about the fire blanket but the plastic push tag things that keep it on have caused the horrible yellow material to show around some of them, apart from that it's just a little faded. So I can either remove it and have no fire protection and an unpainted section of bonnet (why do they do that anyway, why not just paint the whole thing ) or try a littlt black paint on the horrible exposed yellow stuff to try tidy it up mmmmm, decisions. . . .
  16. Not a fan of the black back but apart from that it's very nice indeed, good find
  17. Hi guy's, I was just wondering if removing the black stuff attatched to the under side of the bonnet would be fine to do? I guess it's there for sound deadening but mine has seen better days
  18. From what I have read on this forum over the time I have been here is that any size brake from j-spec 2 pots to D2 8pots for example will stop you in the same distance, it's just that the larger the brake's the more times you can perform the same stop without fade. For example, if you were doing 150leptons with j-specs and the same with 8 pots you would stop in the same distance but then accelerate to 150 again and perform the same stop over and over than the larger brakes will perform much better because they can resist fade much more by being able to desperse the heat (due to their size) so say after 10 runs the 8pots might still be going well but the j-specs will be jelly.
  19. Are these worth buying? Do they actually do anything beneficial?
  20. Hi there, i was wondering if their are any women supra owners around newcastle? I was wondering if we could have a girls meet for a change thanks Alana
