  2. I am after a price for an idle control valve. Which traders on here offer best price for these. Cheers Carl
  3. I have not seen this programe but oddly enough I just bought a Canon 10-22 lens of Ebay from Edmund wardle who does all the Produceing, Presenting & Camera work for that programe. small world.. carl
  4. I have searched but cant find exact answer to this. I believe my stem seals need repalcing as I get smoke on start up. This is worse once the engine has been warmed up, eg. if I go for a run turn the engine off, then 10 minutes later start the engine, more times than not, it will smoke again, small cloud which quickly dissapears. After following my wife driving the supra, i noticed a very small puff when the car changes down gear as well. does this all sound like stems? It does not smoke when actaully going along or under gas. Carl
  5. haven't found a gasket set yet, knowone on here seems to sell them judging by my last thread replies or rather, lack of them..
  6. Are these 2JZGTE SUPRA TURBO VITON VALVE STEM SEALS any good. found them on Ebay from america. seem to say they are better than the OEM but has anyone on here ever used them and would you buy them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130330753352&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123 Carl
  7. Maybe its a japenese tradition to leave a picture of themselves when they sell there cars. Maybe I should hook up my carpet for a look.
  8. Hi, I have had enough of my smoky stem seals so am looking for parts needed to do the job. Can any of the traders on here give me a price for all the bits I need. assume Im taking the head off so need head gasket etc. My Supra is a J-Spec TT (1996) pre face lift. Cheers in advance Carl
  9. Thought this was a good film. Seen plenty of other films using the documentary feel to it but I thought this one worked much better and I actually liked the lead guys African voice. He added a lot of humour to the film which just worked nicely. As mentioned, they certainly left it open for a sequel. One of the more enjoyable films I have seen of late if you dont take it all too seriously. Carl
  10. I have a Mongoose catback with 4" tailpipe on my car.
  11. Long as your not abroad Im happy to include postage.
  12. As above:- Canon EFS 17-85mm lense - £180 this lense has the ultrasonic motors and image stabisor. No scratches or marks, as new. Excellent condition. Bought new last Christmas for just shy of £500. Get yourself a bargain lens. Selling as I want to fund a new lens. Carl

    Chargecooling

When I see how 90% of FMIC are fitted with gaps all round them Im not surprised that a charge cooler is more effiecient.
  14. i have sent CR Turbo's an email asking for specs and price etc. Ideally I want a brand new original turbo but dont want to spend several thousand getting them as budget is tight. So alternative is best rebuild i can achieve without ruining the original setup too much. I guess it will be a compromise but hopefully not one i will regret. Carl
  15. Last time I looked, i noticed oil has been seeping out of the rubber pipe over the airbox so I imagine thats a bad sign before i even look inside. I did ring TT about a year ago and they quoted about £1000 a pair but I have no idea to what degree of build that was. Maybe they mis-quoted. To be honest I would have expected the price to be nearer your figure. Carl
  16. So are you saying around £1000 mark as turbo dynamics charge about that for a pair to be rebuilt? As for checking out the car, how does one go about that without stripping down the engine. I was under the impression that diagnosing such smoky problems is very difficult to establish.
  17. Dare I ask what Toyota charge for new turbos?
  18. I have a restrictor ring. It has a 53mm diameter hole from memory and when fitted to my car alows it to boost max around 0.9bar on my DEFI boost gauge, although defi's do attend to read 0.1bar high by all accounts. I had two of these rings with the same hole diameter so this one is surplus to requirements. PM me your address and ill send it you foc providing you are in the UK
  19. I have been getting the dreaded blue smoke on startup and occasionaly when i rev the engine when idling. I am thinking that as well as a bit of stem seal leakage I also have some turbo seal issues. I have just gone full decat and the problem has become more obvious. I have tried reading various threads on replacement turbos but most seem to go single turbo. I want to keep my current stock twin turbo setup but run 1.2bar etc. I read lots of bad stuff about aftermarket hybrids such as turbotechnics, turbo dynamics not being built well and potentialy being worse than the smoky turbo you replace. some of the threads were quite old though so Im hoping after market turbo build quality has moved on since. Can anyone recommend what options there are available that will leave my setup standard so to speak but replace my failing ceramic turbos with a good after market twin turbo solution. Anyone's experience with rebuilds etc? Cheers Carl
  20. so are these turbos direct bolt on for a j-spec TT?
  21. I bought these dials ages ago but have never bothered to fit them so they are new boxed never fitted. As title they are white with 180mph clock. These are for pre-face lift (three large dials). They come with the voltage transformer & switch that i believe turns the dials from green to blue depending on preference etc. They were bought from a company called Visual-Performance http://www.visual-performance.co.uk/#/toyota-supra-mk4/4521220615 They cost £51 deleivered. I will accept £40 ono. inc delivery
  22. I am about to go BPU and run up to 1.2 bar. Im have just gapped my NGK spark plugs to 0.7mm as recommended on the forum. The plugs I have fitted are BCPR7ES. Since fitting them the car feels lumpy, its quite noticeable on tickover where it was silky smooth before. My previously fitted spark plugs which I removed were BKR6EP and gapped about 0.9mm. Is this typical to see lumpy idle on tickover after reducing the gaps or is it just the plugs are not as good as my previous sets. Any suggestions as I dont like this rough idling. Cheers ~Carl
