  1. I use Dropbox at work and find it almost as clunky as Photobucket and wonder how long will it be free for. Does anyone know if you can embed files from Onedrive?
  2. You can do this for quite a little money if you are happy to do the work yourself. I have two systems, one in Romania and the other here. I used the Floureon 8 Ch system which you can pick up for less than £100 with 4 cameras but without hard drive fitted for that price. a 500gb drive is peanuts and takes seconds to fit. The only criticism I have really is the xmeye software for remote viewing, its a bit flaky and you need activeX installed if you want to use a windows OS to view, the android and ios aps seem to work fine though. There is other software out there but I havent had chance to experiment with it yet. I would upload some screen shots but need to resolve the photobucket thing first. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FLOUREON-8CH-Full-720P-DVR-Video-2000TVL-Outdoor-IR-CCTV-Camera-Security-System-/360898071723?epid=1088418272&hash=item5407338cab:g:HtcAAOSw4A5Yz0P5 The one in Romania is running with a mobile broadband service too, have to run No-ip to get round that but that's just fine.
  3. As per the title, 399 USD per annum per member it sounds like. That's going to make some older threads pretty useless then.
  4. Clay is right I am afraid. Its a real shame we don't have anything for this. In the past I have organised a few of our club stands for Japshow, but its just become quite difficult to do now due to the fact to reserve a pitch we have to pay quite a chunk of money way (about 6 months for a decent spot) up front and commit to a number of tickets. Most people don't want to pay for the tickets until quite close to the event when they know what the weather is doing, work, holiday dates etc. so that alone makes it difficult to book a pitch as we never know how many people are actually going to commit. Also, the last Japshow finale I sorted Santa Pod gave us a pitch which was too small for our needs and we were shunting cars around all day which made it bit of a pain for all involved.
  5. Don't know it but it must be on Guigsy's doorstep going by the description, he may. Looks well priced.
  6. No worries and thanks for making the trip down. Good to catch up.
  7. So you don't consider that capacitors in the regulator pack, solder joints in the diode plate etc deteriorate with age? You sold your last supra a couple of years ago now I think, so the alternator in that was a couple of years younger than the one being spoken of here. Not saying in this case its not, but its not always a mileage issue and an item like an alternator can exhibit no prior warnings of failure. In the past 3 months I have had alternators fail on 3 of my vehicles (call me lucky) Auris @ 114k, Supra at 88k and L200 on 180k and the only one of those that gave some indication there was a pending problem was the truck.
  8. Its a pleasure John. Thanks to you and everyone else who attended and made this another good meet. Just a few photos taken on my phone.
  9. I had these exact symptoms on two of the Mercedes I have owned, both turned out to be the master cylinder. That would be my first thing to eliminate, has it ever had a fluid change?
  10. My missus read it on facebook last night so guess it must be true.

Nice. My missus used to have one of these, think it was the 2.0 gt version. Lovely to drive and as a daily so reliable.

  14. Just been through a expensive and stressful episode with the wife's latest car an Auris 2.2 d4d. Soon after she bought it kept trying to regenerate after loads of research and titting around with it I was left with a decision to buy a aftermarket dpf for around £400 which was likely not to last, or a oem part for around a grand on a car worth about 3 or to lose it completely which isn't as easy as you may think. Its certainly not like just pulling the cats off on a 90s car I ended up losing the dpf,egr and cat but the can is still there and in tact as far as a visual check is concerned, however the 5th injector had to be taken out(disabled) and a full ecu remap carried out to make it run correctly afterwards to prevent the ecu from chucking up errors because of the dpf/cat/5th inj not being there. I decided after lots of research this was the only way really but accept we are going to have to use my mate at test time. I have seriously started to wonder if all this extra crap really does anything for either the carbon footprint or promoting less pollution. On a plus its transformed the car in terms of power/torque and increased the mpg by a staggering 20%.
  15. I rebuilt mine, but struggled to get the correct diode pack. The TT supra pack has a long cranked output terminal stud and found a couple of places in the states that stocked them but were as much to ship as to buy. Ended up modifying a plate intended for a 1uz. The regulator and brush packs are readily available though. With hindsight I wouldn't bother again.
  16. Actually there's 2 different ones there. I just thought I would take another look as I didnt recall a question about the year the IC was designed and discovered the quiz you guys took was different to the one I took. Got 38 on that one. Not sure whats going on with the link, but try this one: https://www.zoo.com/quiz/what-do-you-know-car-engines?utm_medium=paid&utm_content=80%25+of+Men+Can%27t+Pass+This+Car+Engines+Quiz%21+Can+You%3F&utm_source=outbrain&utm_term=00a7c2f61ede158497ad131215c28d7888&utm_campaign=UK-Zoo-CarEngineKnowledge%28desktop%29&mkcpgn=i600008045&sg_uid=M4G_cDqSSYauGDAvgO4hYA&sessionid=aa45d3dc-97a1-42c4-9c94-b6352ab24a60 "what do you know about car engines" Oh and it was the question about poppet valves I got wrong as I didnt know thats what they were called, and the normal 4 cyl firing order.
