  1. Do you ever get to the Isle of Wight? I hear it's good holiday destination for your sort - little fortress in the Solent.
  2. I didn't really like Dark Knight - much preferred Batman Begins in terms of darkness. I did enjoy Thor though and I think I might like this.
  3. I might be insane but I'd much rather sit/stand on a train for an hour than be in a traffic jam on the roads through Leeds having to deal with other people's attitudes (which all stink first thing in the morning). Commuting is a pain in the neck, and not at all about passenger comfort or consideration. Is there any posibility of driving part way to say Surbiton then using the trains for the rest of the way? My dad drives from Farnham to Surbiton every day but leaves the house at about 7am and doesn't attempt to drive back till 7pm and it seems to work really well for him. Did you see that Richard Wilson programme recently about the trains? He was interviewing people that do the seasonal ticket thing and say they never ever get a seat. Some people were choosing to sit in the toilet! It's all wrong really. Not sure there is any solution for it though.
  4. That's pretty rubbish really - I mean, if he wants to show his underwear to the world, it's no biggie.
  5. Never heard of it so it could probably do with an explanation!
  6. Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind. Why? It's beautiful. I wrote about it on my silly blog if you want a more indepth explanation:- http://www.illbefrancoise.com/2010/06/day-two-favourite-film.html
  7. Happy Birthday! What did you get, what did you get?
  8. Of course the media will do their best to hype as much as possible - especially the BBC website which used to be quite unbiased. It is pretty serious though, I don't think I'd be particularly comfortable being in Germany at the moment.
  9. I work in a hospital so I'm pretty much doomed if I shake anyone's hand there.
  10. Indeed - I was being dramatic, I'm just saying it all stems back to hygiene, if they've washed their hands, then if they touch you you'll be fine. But honestly, if you're like this now and you're not even there I'd suggest you don't go. You'll be paranoid as hell even stepping into the hotel room.
  11. You can't catch it in droplets from sneezes or coughs, saliva etc - not sure where you're getting your info from. E-coli is a gut infection so unless you're going to Euro Disney to eat people's faeces and you're not going to take care with personal hygiene, then I suspect you might just be ok.
  12. Which is where the hand hygiene thing comes in - it's so important in killing germs. It's not an airborne outbreak.
  13. I've always really loved The Futureheads version of Hounds of Love - I don't actually like them much, just this.
  14. You've quoted causes of past e-coli outbreaks. At the moment the outbreak appears to have been linked to raw vegetables in Germany. There have been cases in other parts of Europe, as it stands I don't believe there have been any cases in France. The most important thing with this is cleanliness - washing vegetables, fruit, hand hygiene etc etc.
  15. I used to do some interval training at the gym but mainly 2 mins on/1 min off. Can't imagine this - sounds insane!
  16. I have a fan bigger than that in my lounge!
  17. Just wondering - is your band name taken from a Biffy Clyro song?
  18. Happy Birthday just Gav!
  19. In a very pathetic way - falling down the stairs, fell forwards and my leg was tucked behind me so sort of snapped. I wasn't even drunk!
  20. I have actually! I broke tib and fib bone so have plate and pins. Scars are rubbish.
  21. I love how this has turned into a my injury is bigger than your injury type thread.
  22. It was just the way you started off the thread - with the build up before the pics. Well - I guess if you're not bothered about scaring etc then you won't need a visit to the docs.
