  1. 1999, for 13K with about 33,000 kms IIRC. Never even test drove it, we only went to look at a replacement Celica. Its now over 230,000kms and still runs as good. It was incredibly skittish to drive, but in my naivety I thought that was just how "sports cars" were until I went to a meet in Stevenage, I think, and everyone said how low my car was. Turns out some midnight racer had dropped it a good 100mm on some odd springs and it had extreme camber. Very solid round corners but awful to brake from high speed. I raised it with some Eibach lowering springs and got the camber adjusted.
  2. First time I sat on one I severly burnt my cobblers. Turns out I'd been mis-sold a Tempura bed instead.

    2012 Films

I've not watched that link, but if its the same one I saw, a guy did recount his tale of downing one 262 and scaring off another, but certainly not by being on its tail as was shown in that clip. A Mustang could never stay with a 262, the old pilot described a series of very clever (to me) moves to be able to draw fire on the filthy hun.
  4. Wow, that's a rocky horizon. Is that the Pennines?
  5. Yes, and have done so. I was sitting at work when I noticed a guy staggering across the car park with a carrier bag of cans. It was around 11.00 "bit early to be in that state" I thought, but then he got into a car and sat there for a bit, but as soon as he started it, I was on the phone to the police. Gave them full details and the direction he drove off in but never heard anything more. I presume if no one spotted him on the road, they could be waiting at his home for him to arrive.
  6. That's true, even up here in the wilds of North Yorkshire, there are lots of advertised vacancies for chefs of all levels in the many country pubs.
  7. Hey, guess what. Planners won't count a garage as a car parking space if all you can fit in is a car, and no other stuff like garden tools etc. Thats great, a space that fits a car is not classed as a car park space. You can make it count however if you have a garden shed as well for storage. I mention this for those planning on extensions, as extra bedrooms require extra parking spaces.

    Chrono Po*n

I think not, I noticed they have appreciated somewhat since I bought it.
  9. DP. Ireally should know this, given my profession, but I really can't see why its any business of Sevenoaks Council if Brands decide to amend their track layout slighty. Surely its like changing your own garden path? Unless there is special cover for Brands since the F1 track changes proposal that John Prescott sat on, back in the 90's
  10. Having seen those images, is there not a risk that a major b**** up at the new corner could see a driver slide up the hill and onto the track atop Paddock, which is not a nice place to be at any time.

    Chrono Po*n

This is my one, A rather grubby looking actually ( I must give it a clean ) SeaWolf Avenger. Don't know quite why it has such an agressive name, but its good for 3000m deep! 3km underwater, or nearly 2 miles. I couldn't even get to the bottom of the diving pool.
  12. For a serious beard question, I now have one, since I've nowt else to do, so why do some men have clear skin in the "dip" or "mandibular swale" twixt bottom lip and chin. Mine is full of hair, is it natural to have this bit full of hair and therefore do those other chaps trim them, like a masculine George Michael?
  13. Brands Hatch has continually chnaged its track over its 60-70 year history. Why stop now? I'm surprised they need planning permission though for that sort of thing.
  14. Are we talking about rose bushes now?
  15. Indeed, every single person I know/knew who had anyting to do with horses has been horribly injured by one. A girl I worked with had a fractured spine from being thrown, I had to give her a lift in the Supra when she returned to work, I was terrified I was gonna paralyse her if I hit a pothole. Another girl I worked with was kicked square in the face, she was really pretty. I suppose she still is, except now there's a massive scar. My mum worked in a riding school for disabled children and while leading a horse it decided to bolt. Stupidly she thought if she gripped the rope well she would stop the horse...hello dislocated shoulder. The list goes on.
  16. Jacomo, Cotton traders, all do big sizes. Jacomo is low-end clothing, good for slobbing about the house but not for going out on the pull.

    Car cover

I've got a couple of Tyvek ones, soft lining, waterproof outer. One is almost brand new, with a slight hole and some dirt marks, the other is well used but might do for a cheap stand in. £30 for one, £15 for t'other, plus a fiver for postage.
  18. Our bosch has jsut had its impeller pump bit changed, about 3-4 years old. It was making a noise like a coin was stuck in it. Could well be that part has a max 4 year lifespan, like a replicant, but less dangerous.

    Which curry?

I've had that, its where a suicidal girl s**** on you from a balcony.
  20. Now thats what I call...purposeful.
  21. No, I didn't think she was going to hit me, what with her mirrors being filled with a wall of green metal. But as I said, I wasn't that bothered. Exactly, I "touched" another car in a car park, it was a paint mark and I would have asked the lady to come back to mine and I'll polish it out if I hadn't thought that would sound a bit dodgy, but I waited for the owner and we swapped details. The total insurance bill was over £800 including £400 for a weeks car hire. A week? It was an hours work, if that. I now have to declare it for 5 years, and so will she. I can honestly say that if it happens again, I will stiff others as I have been stiffed onto myself, or something. Ooh-er.
  22. Well you say that, but I had just pulled up to a petrol pump in an Esso garage in Dartford, and a woman was reversing from the parking spots that were perpendicular to the pumps and she just reversed into the side of my old S3 landy. It was a proper bang and I saw her whole body move and hair fly about, but she jsut drove off as if nothing had happened, she didn't even look in her mirrors to see what she had hit, else she would have seen a large 4x4 with a man sitting in it. I found it hilarious as I didn't care about my own car, but what manner of unaware simpleton was she?
  23. Maybe set them a tad lower, rather than blind oncoming drivers just for safety's sake. Its only a few turns of the right adjuster. A search will bring up a few threads on headlamp adjustment.
  24. Oh yes, like the two girls walking past on the path, pointing and smiling until they were in earshot and I heard one say "Oh no, he's really old"
  25. Int it dangerous, trying to shoot the staff members in the head?
