  1. Hot glue gun - works for anything!
  2. 19s will fit no bother, maybe even 20s. Handling will suffer (more-so on the 20s). You'll find a lot of members here are more practical/performance orientated rather than Max Power / show car type modifications, but don't let that put you off
  3. With the Stillen you can also retain the standard SMIC ducting (well, with a little bit of jiggery pokery )
  4. That's extremely pricey. With an uprated fuel pump you shouldn't need a seperate pump for fuel, that should be governed by the solenoids fed from a T off the fuel line. If you're giving it a 100bhp fixed hit in a fairly standard car then you'll probably lose traction, not to mention most of your engine internals. Nitrous is just like any other power-enhancing mod for cars - it takes knowledge and proper tuning to do it properly. After all, would you just bolt a single kit to your Supra and hoon around without getting it properly tuned? If anyone is serious about nitrous, then I can't recommend the Wizards of Nos board enough. :edit: Re-fills depend on the power you're using - expect 10-15+ minutes of continuous use on a 50 shot with an 11Ib bottle. For 2-3 minutes you'd have to be putting in some serious amount of nitrous! :edit 2: Dammit! All this nitrous talk has made me make up my mind to put it on the TT! You evil people! :edit 3: Progressive controllers are to minimise the effects of a sudden hit of nitrous - if it helps, think of it a bit like impact loading (getting past my techie threshold here!) They also save your traction either off the line or whilst moving. Ideally you should go progressive on anything 50bhp or over.
  5. Actually, if it's a professionally installed / checked system, insurers such as Greenlight and Adrian Flux are happy enough to insure it; i believe that more specialist insurers are starting to realise it's not the risk that it's been made out to be.
  6. I've got most of a Wizards of Nos kit sat in my garage - can't decide whether to use it or not It's got the Minimax progressive controller, solenoids and 2 5Ib polished bottles - which I thought may look kinda funky in the up-and-coming-sooner-or-later-probably-later install.
  7. Think I'll watch it down the pub next time
  8. Nice. You could always send them off to get polished / chromed / anodised
  9. If that's a joke, it's a very very cruel one!
  10. I've always found that removing a bulb is a sure-fire way of turning off a light
  11. I was thinking about something similar the other day - be a good idea and handy, though the cost of a suitable replacement / temporary cat might make it unfeasible
  12. Why on earth do people NEED to go onto a car owners forum to rant about non-car related items? Go somewhere else ffs
  13. In regards to the mkivstore's group buy 3 months ago on the vacuum plenums; I know they're only £50ish but am being too impatient? I've noticed I'm the only one that's posted about them in the thread so I guess nobody's that bothered :edit: Just to mention it's this thread: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=68947&highlight=vacuum+plenum

    Hi, welcome aboard
  15. Or how about we just ignore the people who whinge about thread deletion / locking, then ban persistant gobshites who seem to wind people up with every other post? It's an internet forum, not a democracy
  16. I'm guessing Chris is probably holding the camera and that is, in fact, Mrs Wilson? If not and Chris really does look that effeminate, I apologise!
  17. Shame, he's a beautiful looking dog. It's always a shame though - you never really know what's happened to a rescue dog in it's past. My Mum's got a 6month old rescue pup, who's so terrified of a hair brush that he wets himself if one goes anywhere near him - we can only guess he was beaten early on Still, a lovely little lump though
  18. Are they scratches or cracks in the paint? If they're scratches, try Farecla scratch remover - great stuff
  19. Cheers guys I'll most likely phone you when I've done to book the car in for alignment Chris - what's the going rate, btw? Just gotta install my 20" chrome wheels 1st . . .
  20. In a rare show of kindness and generosity, she who must be obeyed has allowed me to work on the car this weekend One of the things I'm hoping to do is get my coilovers installed. It all looks fairly simple from the Toyota workshop novel, but I figure there's bound to be something that tends to scupper things and make a 4 hour job into a 24 hour job. So does anyone have any tips or tricks for fitting? Please?
  21. Judging by some of the previous threads, unmoderated it would turn into 'Fight Club UK' with people meeting up left right and centre to beat the bejeezus out of each other!
  22. Or Elitist (admittedly, I've just used Word's spell checker for that . . . )
  23. Only by the ones that can't spell
  24. I know what you mean mate, I'd probably remove myself from the forum too if I had a life!
  25. Yes, you will need a FCD as well as a restrictor ring to limit boost creep
