    confession....

(Sorry, someone had to do it...)
  2. Why not? We're already pumping cash into Bangladesh (370 million), Pakistan (480 million), Palestine (243 million), Yemen (100 million+), not to mention Sudan and Somalia. Surely we can help out our fellow EUROPEANS for a change? Don't believe me? Look out for a speech by Justice Minister and Labour MP for Dewsbury, Shahid Malik!
  3. Please tell me this guy's on a wind-up? He can't be for real, surely? I thought it was some schoolboy on half term at first and I could at least have put it down to the standard of education these days - then someone posted that he's in his 40's FFS...

    Honda recall

He did if you listen carefully. I heard the police despatcher ask quite clearly whether the driver couldn't just switch the engine off. Right before the driver said they were just approaching the intersection...
  5. I love it - more confusion. Shame it's the last series. Why couldn't they stick to the original 10 year plan?

    Vampire Diaries

    I'd sooner watch True Blood.
  7. It's a bit of paper - go with the cheapest.
  8. Choose: a. Very low attention span. b. Blonde.
  9. Confirming what Alex said at post #63 above.
  10. The way Whitmarsh explained it sounds like they're not having any pit stops and the consequent "strategic overtaking". I thought they were still having to stop for tyres though? If that's the case then pitstop strategy comes back into the race, surely?
  11. Nice one Paul. Beware though - the Speedcam data is not complete so don't rely on that POI.
  12. I like that. I might build one just for the hell of it.
  13. Seems the Iraqi Interior Ministry still has confidence in the 'bomb detectors'. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/8477601.stm The Assistant Deputy Minister was quoted as saying "The reason the director of the company was arrested was not because the device doesn't work, but because he refused to divulge the secret of how it works to the British authorities, and the Americans before them," At least now they know where to look for the backhanders.

    S- video lead

I suspect that's what JustGav meant when he said check the desktop is enabled.
  15. Good to see this guy's been arrested. Let's hope he gets banged up for life and all his assets stripped and given to the Iraqi Govt. But I fail to see why on earth our Govt should reimburse the Iraqi Govt for their own gullibility. Who on earth pays that sort of money without making damn sure it works? I suspect that once the Iraqis complete their own investigation, one or two senior officials there will be arrested for taking backhanders.

    Windows 7

I'd have to agree with that.
  17. Yes, much better when you engage brain first.
  18. Slightly off topic, but I noticed on holiday in the Canaries last week that there seemed to be a lot of fairly hot women in dayglo vests doing jobs like road sweeping, tree pruning etc. whereas we tend to get nothing but old men doing the same... Then I found out that under Spanish rules, if you want to claim social benefits you have to work for them. Way to go!
  19. I totally agree with you there - and it looks like others do too: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article6999353.ece
